Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Investigation and the Monster in Disguise

The Secret Mission Begins

In a hidden corner of the training grounds, seven kids huddled together, eyes filled with determination.

Their leader? None other than Hatake Kakashi, the young genius, standing with his arms crossed and an unusually serious expression.

Obito cracked his knuckles, voice full of excitement:

"So the plan is to shadow Hoshino-sensei all day, right? Let's see what secrets he's hiding!"

Gai clenched his fists, his eyes burning with passion:

"YOSH! A true ninja cannot ignore suspicious activities! We must uncover the truth!"

Genma nodded, twirling the senbon in his mouth:

"Sensei is strangely strong, yet he doesn't use high-level ninjutsu. That alone is fishy."

Ebisu adjusted his glasses, speaking in a low voice:

"We need a proper surveillance plan. We'll track him from morning till night and record anything unusual."

Rin hesitated but finally spoke up:

"If Sensei does have a secret, shouldn't we respect his privacy?"

The group stared at her for a moment before collectively shaking their heads.

No way! Hoshino-sensei was too suspicious!

And so, the surveillance operation officially began.

First Discoveries – Hoshino's "Strange" Habits

The next morning, the team put their plan into action.

At sunrise, Kakashi and Obito stealthily trailed Satoru, carefully keeping their presence hidden.

But after an hour of tailing him, their jaws dropped.

Hoshino-sensei… wasn't doing anything suspicious.

He was just… having breakfast.

No, more accurately—

He was eating a breakfast fit for three grown men!

Three extra-large bowls of ramen, two plates of grilled meat and rice, a skewer of dango, and a massive cup of green tea.

Kakashi whispered, stunned:

"…He eats like a monster."

Obito nodded furiously, his eyes still glued to their teacher as he devoured his meal.

Gai clenched his fists, veins popping:

"YOSH! Only a body filled with overwhelming energy would need so much nutrition! This proves he is a great warrior!"

Ebisu pushed his glasses up, mumbling:

"No… this isn't normal."

After finishing his meal, Satoru sighed in satisfaction and then…

He headed straight for the bathroom.

Kakashi started jotting notes into his little notebook:

7:30 AM – Hoshino-sensei consumes an absurd amount of food. 8:00 AM – Hoshino-sensei goes to the bathroom (1st time). 10:00 AM – Hoshino-sensei goes to the bathroom (2nd time). 12:30 PM – Hoshino-sensei eats lunch (another absurd amount). 1:00 PM – Hoshino-sensei goes to the bathroom (3rd time).

Obito palmed his forehead, sighing:

"He eats too much… and also uses the bathroom way too much!"

Genma stroked his chin seriously:

"Maybe… Sensei has a unique digestive ninjutsu?"

The group nodded thoughtfully. That made sense.

But what they discovered next would shock them even more.

A Monster in Disguise!?

That afternoon, as Satoru was casually strolling through the village, a sudden scream erupted.

An elderly woman was walking past a construction site when a brick from above came loose—falling directly toward her!

The bystanders gasped, but the brick was falling too fast—no one could react in time.

Except for one person—

Hoshino Satoru.

In that instant, his body moved before his mind could even process it.

His foot slammed into the ground, propelling him forward at such speed that his form blurred.

In a split second—

BOOM!

Satoru appeared in front of the old woman, his hand catching the falling brick.

But just then—

A massive wooden beam from the scaffolding snapped and plummeted toward him!

With no time to dodge, he took the full force of the impact to his back.

CRASH!

A thick cloud of dust exploded into the air.

The kids stood frozen, eyes wide as saucers.

As the dust settled—

Satoru was still standing.

The old woman was unharmed, safely held in his arms.

The brick had shattered in his hand, and the wooden beam had fallen harmlessly to the ground.

He hadn't taken a single scratch.

The kids collectively gawked, their jaws practically unhinging.

Obito muttered in horror:

"… Monster."

Gai's eyes sparkled with admiration:

"YOSH! SENSEI IS A TRUE LEGEND!!!"

Kakashi narrowed his eyes, more serious than ever.

"…Sensei's body isn't normal."

After ensuring the elderly woman was safe, Satoru simply dusted himself off and walked away like nothing happened.

But from a distance, his students stood watching, cold sweat dripping down their backs.

They had been following their teacher for a week now, but—

The more they watched, the more they realized that his existence defied all logic.

The Lesson on Teamwork

The next day, Satoru returned to class.

Today, he wrote on the board:

"Ninja Teams – The Strength of Companionship"

Glancing at his students, he smiled.

"What do you think? Is a ninja stronger when fighting alone, or when fighting with their team?"

Kakashi immediately responded:

"A ninja must complete their mission at all costs."

Obito argued back:

"No! A ninja should protect their comrades first!"

The classroom erupted with debate, each student voicing their own beliefs.

Satoru nodded approvingly before speaking:

"Good. This is exactly what a ninja should contemplate."

"But remember… A ninja is not a lone warrior. We are a force that operates together."

"A strong team is one where every member trusts one another."

The room fell silent as the students pondered his words.

Just then, the system chimed in:

[Lesson completed: Students have grasped the concept of teamwork and the importance of trust.] [Teaching Quality: A.] [Earned 300 points.] [Acquired Skill: Enhanced Taijutsu (Level 1).]

But the biggest surprise was—

[Congratulations! You have survived one full week!] [Award: 1 Special Lucky Spin.]

Satoru nearly fell over.

"Wait—SYSTEM!? I get rewards just for staying alive!?"
