Chapter 15 - Doctor, Bloody Miracle

"Miss, please don't move around."

"You just woke up and started running around. This time it's just a sprained ankle. If you're unlucky next time, you might get seriously hurt."

Despite Sakuya's warning, Remilia didn't pay much attention, still glaring fiercely at the damn human in front of her.

If Sakuya hadn't stopped her, she would have already beaten the crap out of him!

Facing that gaze that seemed ready to bite, Rin remained unfazed, calmly enjoying his cake.

After taking a sip of black tea, a look of contentment naturally spread across his face.

Sakuya really is capable. When I think about those troublesome ones back at home...

Tonight, I'll make them do all the dishes and clean the pots!

After applying the medicated wine and ointment to Remilia's ankle, Sakuya didn't give her any chance to cause trouble. She simply picked her up.

"Miss, the second mistress has woken up and is demanding to see you. You should go handle that first. Leave this to me."

"Tch... You damn human, don't you dare leave later!"

"Once I'm done, I'll give you a fair chance to duel. Just wait until I—"

Before Remilia could finish her threats, Sakuya firmly covered her mouth and escorted her out of the guest room.

As the noisy commotion gradually faded away, Rin's hand, holding the teacup, paused slightly.

Just as he was provoking Remilia, that eerie feeling of being watched returned, and the gaze seemed to grow even more excited.

As Rin set down his teacup and picked up his fork to take another bite of cake, he suddenly lunged toward the window.

Whoosh—

This time, the sound of flapping wings became clear, and the gust of wind caused the window to tremble.

Though he still couldn't see anyone, a black feather drifted down as evidence, eventually caught in Rin's hand.

Realizing the identity of the peeping Tom, his heart sank.

He didn't even want to imagine what kind of strange headlines would appear in the Human Village's newspapers tomorrow...

"I'm very sorry for the trouble my mistress caused you."

"Her earlier threats were just empty words. You don't need to jump out the window to escape."

Just then, Sakuya's voice suddenly came from behind.

Seeing Rin clinging to the window as if ready to flee at any moment, Sakuya's eye twitched.

"Ahem, no, I just discovered a certain dangerous individual."

Rin turned around and waved the black feather in his hand. Sakuya's expression immediately changed.

"What? You've seen it too?"

"I saw it while cleaning this morning. I thought it was just some bird that flew into the house."

"What do you mean by a dangerous individual?"

Sakuya's expression grew serious. If someone could sneak into the Scarlet Devil Mansion unnoticed, there was a chance they could kidnap the mistress or others next time.

"You don't need to worry too much. They won't pose a threat to personal safety. Their main target is reputation and image."

"...A paparazzi?"

After thinking for a moment, Sakuya tentatively asked.

Seeing Rin nod in confirmation, she finally relaxed a little.

As long as they're not here to kidnap anyone, the reputation issue...

Thinking about her mistress's dignified yet utterly cute face, Sakuya decisively chose to ignore it.

Not dwelling on the paparazzi issue, she extended a new invitation.

"Let me show you around the Scarlet Devil Mansion. We rarely have outsiders visiting. Now that we've moved to Gensokyo, things might get livelier."

"Then I'll trouble you."

After firmly closing the window, Rin followed Sakuya out of the guest room.

A few seconds later, a figure crept back to the window, peeking inside sneakily.

"Tch—why is he so cautious?"

Gritting her teeth, the paparazzi flew off to try another window entrance.

She refused to believe they could block off every single entrance!

This news story was hers for the taking!

Meanwhile, Sakuya, completely unaware of the seriousness of the situation, led Rin to the entrance of the basement.

However, she had no intention of taking him down. Instead, she solemnly warned—

"If you visit in the future, try not to go near the basement."

"The second mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion lives down there, but her mental state is unstable, making her dangerous to outsiders."

"Usually, only the mistress and I can go near that area."

"There's also a fairly large underground library in another part of the basement. A friend of the mistress lives there."

"But she rarely leaves her room, and her physical health is quite poor. The patient I mentioned earlier is her."

"If you want to read, let me know, and I can take you inside."

"Do you have all kinds of books?"

Rin asked, curious if there were any special "little books" hidden inside.

"Pretty much. Aside from a large collection of magic books, she also has many books from the outside world."

"I once saw nuclear bomb blueprints in there."

"...Isn't that range a bit too broad?"

Sakuya smiled vaguely. Just as she was about to lead Rin to the next location, the basement door was suddenly pushed open by Remilia.

"Sakuya!"

"Help, Sakuya! Patchouli... Patchouli seems to be dying!!"

"She's lying there motionless!!!"

Hearing this, Sakuya's pupils contracted, and she immediately rushed toward the basement.

But after taking a few steps, she seemed to worry that leaving Rin alone might lead to another clash with the mistress.

After a moment's thought, she decided to bring Rin along, despite Remilia's displeased glare.

The basement corridor was dimly lit, with only a few faint lights flickering.

Walking through it, the sound of footsteps echoed eerily, as if they had stepped into a horror movie scene.

Fortunately, the target room wasn't far, and the open door soon came into view.

As the three hurriedly entered, their eyes immediately locked onto the figure lying motionless on the desk.

Her unique purple hair spilled over her loose, comfortable nightgown, with faint purple stripes adorning the fabric, giving off a quiet, serene vibe.

Her peaceful, sleeping face peeked out from her hair, her slightly sickly pale complexion evoking a sense of pity.

"Patchouli!!!"

Remilia's mournful cry echoed through the library.

The two figures, one large and one small, rushed over almost immediately, shaking the girl's body with sorrowful expressions and frantically pinching her philtrum.

However, under Rin's conflicting gaze, Patchouli, who had been sleeping soundly, furrowed her brow and was "revived" by the two...
