Chapter 21 - I, Patchouli, Am Ruthless

"Pastries and such, I've sent quite a lot. You can pick and choose what you want to eat."

"Wow~ Did Sakuya-san make all of these? Amazing!"

"Boss, since you're so good at persuading people, why not just bring the maid back with you? Her skills are really something."

"You two, that's enough. Mind your manners."

Rin wiped the pastry crumbs from their mouths with a handkerchief, occasionally pouring them a cup of hot tea to prevent them from choking.

Meanwhile, Chen, sitting quietly beside them, was much more well-behaved, taking small bites of the pudding on her plate, her demeanor clearly more refined.

Especially her soft, adorable smile, which was incredibly heartwarming.

"At least there's one normal person in the shop."

"Wow, boss, that's a bit harsh. We're working hard too, you know."

"You're selling less than what you two are eating."

"Ahem, we're setting an example for advertising."

"Exactly, look at how much we're enjoying the food. Customers will definitely think the products are delicious, and sales will naturally go up."

"Today's chicken feet sales are pretty high!"

The two of them defended themselves in unison, waving the newly recorded account book around.

However, the page that recorded their sneaky eating had clearly been torn out...

"If today's expenses don't match the income, one of you will have to be prepared to be the sacrificial offering." Hearing Rin's warning, their faces immediately changed, and the pastries in their mouths suddenly didn't taste as good.

"I-I-I... I'll go advertise at the village entrance!!"

"I'll go take inventory!"

The two of them, unable to sit still, hurried off to their respective tasks.

After dealing with them, Rin turned his gaze to Yukari on the rocking chair.

Feeling his subtle gaze, Yukari twitched her eye and silently turned over, choosing to face away.

"Aren't you going to say anything?"

Rin's voice suddenly came from above, startling Yukari.

"I'm still young..."

"How can you say that with a straight face?"

"Ah~ Don't shake it... Fine, Boss Rin, even if you sneak around with that new girl, I'll pretend I didn't see it."

"Eek~ Stop shaking! Fine, I'll give you some photos of your future wife!"

Seeing the photos Yukari pulled out from the gap, Rin's hand, which had been shaking the rocking chair, suddenly stopped.

Noticing his interest, a mischievous smile appeared on Yukari's face.

The seductive, demon-like whisper followed—

"As long as Boss Rin doesn't make me work and gives me some snacks, I have even more exciting things~"

But Rin remained unmoved—

"Once I marry her, the real person will be more interesting than the photos, right?"

"Tsk..."

This guy isn't easy to fool.

Yukari clicked her tongue, then suddenly seemed to remember something, her eyes lighting up.

"Boss Lin, you've got a bit of a problem right now. How about I help you settle it?"

"What problem?"

In response to Rin's question, Yukari reached into the gap.

After some rummaging, she pulled out a handful of black feathers.

"There's a sneaky little paparazzi who's been secretly taking photos of you. If she writes something scandalous, your reputation will be ruined."

"And that could hurt the shop's income!"

"I'll help you deal with her, and you let me lounge around comfortably."

"Are you sure you can handle it?"

Rin looked skeptical.

With someone like Aya, even if she were hung up and whipped, she'd probably come back the next day with even juicier gossip.

Completely unaware of the severity of the situation, Yukari looked confident.

"Leave it to me. A little paparazzi like her can't possibly cause any real trouble."

"Wait for my good news!"

With that, she quickly disappeared into the gap.

At the same time, the familiar sound of flapping wings came from the ceiling again.

This time, Rin could clearly see a figure flying past the window in a panic, leaving behind a blur.

While he didn't expect Yukari to completely deal with Aya, at least it would keep her busy for a while.

Just as he was about to relax in the rocking chair, the familiar sound of dragging chains came from the courtyard.

The next moment, to Rin's surprise, Patchouli, still holding a book, was dragged to the counter by the chains of the contract, her face filled with confusion.

Only when her legs were firmly tied in place did Patchouli's expression change drastically.

Sakuya, what the hell did you write in that contract?

Why do I have to work too?!!!

"Boss, while people's preferences are their own, isn't your playstyle getting a bit too dangerous..."

Reimu's voice came from the side, her face full of wary caution as she finished taking inventory.

In just two days, she'd already witnessed several shocking "crime scenes," and that was just during the day when things were somewhat restrained!

If it were nighttime, she didn't even want to imagine what might happen!

"What are you thinking? It's just the contract's enforcement effect. Looks like Patchouli's going to have a very structured life for the next few days."

Rin flicked her forehead as he explained, his voice loud enough for Patchouli to hear, her face growing paler by the second.

I'm definitely going to die in this shop!

"Sakuyaaaaaa!!!!" Patchouli's resentful wail echoed through the shop.

Watching Patchouli bury her head in the counter, scratching her head in frustration, Rin and Reimu both looked at her with sympathy, covering Chen's eyes.

"Aren't you going to comfort her?"

"I'm afraid she might accidentally scratch me."

"Next time Sakuya comes, they won't start fighting right away, will they?"

"Probably not."

 "Why?"

Patchouli might collapse from exhaustion before they even start."

"..."

It seems that after Marisa, the shop has gained another embarrassing member.

But despite being so embarrassing, her figure is ridiculously good!

This shouldn't be happening!

Reimu's resentment flared up again, glaring at Patchouli before stomping out the door with Marisa to go advertise.

Meanwhile, Patchouli, not paying attention to anyone else, finally calmed down, only for various sinister thoughts to start brewing in her mind.

'Since Sakuya sold me out to this extent for her own enjoyment, don't blame me for being ruthless!'
