Cherreads

Chapter 6 - Reunion P-2

The reunion of U.A. High's Class 1-A was in full swing. Music blasted through the venue, cheers erupted from all corners, and former classmates—now adults with full-fledged careers—revelled in nostalgia. Laughter filled the air as they celebrated their years together, some reminiscing about their high school days while others engaged in friendly, and not-so-friendly, competitions.

At the center of the chaos, Bakugou and Kirishima were locked in a drinking contest, shot for shot, neither backing down.

Kirishima slammed his glass down. "That all you got, Blasty?" He grinned, cheeks already flushed.

Bakugou wiped his mouth aggressively. "Oi, shitty hair! You think you can keep up with me?!" He downed another shot without hesitation.

The bartender, watching with mild concern, leaned in. "Uh, guys… maybe slow down a bit?"

Kirishima threw an arm around Bakugou's shoulder in a side hug, already laughing. "Bah! We're good!"

"Get your damn arm off me, idiot!" Bakugou scowled, though he made no real effort to move. Then, he slammed his fist on the counter. "More!"

Across the dance floor, another battle was raging. Kaminari and Mineta had turned the space into their own personal stage, locked in a one-on-one dance-off. The crowd cheered and laughed as the two escalated their ridiculous moves.

Mineta pointed dramatically. "Bro, you call that dancing?"

Kaminari grinned, wiping nonexistent sweat off his forehead. "Watch this!" He attempted an overly ambitious backflip—only to land flat on his knees.

"Denki, NO!" Jirou shot up in alarm.

Mina burst into laughter. "I'd give that a solid four out of ten!"

Kaminari groaned, still on the floor. "Jirou, be honest. Was it at least an eight?"

Jirou crossed her arms. "It was a zero. And I'm being generous."

"Bro got humbled real quick," Mineta muttered, sipping his drink.

Meanwhile, in a quieter corner, Midoriya and Iida were catching up.

"How's everything at U.A.?" Iida asked, adjusting his glasses with the same disciplined manner he always had.

Midoriya, his face now more mature and defined, nodded. "Pretty good. Aizawa-sensei is planning to promote me to vice principal."

Iida's eyebrows lifted. "That is quite the achievement, Midoriya. You truly are following in All Might's footsteps."

Midoriya chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "I just want to help shape the next generation, you know?"

His gaze drifted toward the crowd, where Uraraka and Hatsume were chatting. "Speaking of futures… how are things with Hatsume?"

Iida said nothing at first. Instead, he raised his right hand, revealing a simple yet elegant engagement ring.

Midoriya's eyes widened. "No way! Iida-kun, congratulations!" Without hesitation, he pulled his friend into a tight hug.

"The wedding is in nine months," Iida replied, allowing himself a rare, small smile.

Midoriya beamed. "That's amazing! I'm really happy for you."

Iida, ever composed, adjusted his glasses again. "You've been quite busy yourself, it seems," he remarked, subtly shifting his gaze toward Uraraka. Her growing baby bump was visible even through her loose outfit.

Midoriya turned red. "W-Woah, Iida! I didn't take you for the smug type!"

Iida's lips curved slightly. "Just happy for you, Midoriya."

Across the venue, Todoroki and Sero stood near a high table, deep in discussion.

"You've got a good thing going," Sero said, sipping his drink. "Your brand's expanding fast."

Todoroki nodded, his tone neutral. "The international market is the next step. We've been negotiating partnerships outside Japan."

Before Sero could respond, a familiar hand rested gently on Todoroki's shoulder. He turned to see Momo standing behind him, poised and composed.

"Evening, Shoto-kun. It's been a while."

Todoroki met her gaze, his expression unreadable. "Oh. Momo." His voice was calm, yet distant. "How have you been?"

Momo took a measured sip of her drink. "Very well. On my own."

Sero, sensing the tension, immediately abandoned ship. "Uh—yeah, I should go check on Kaminari before he breaks something." And with that, he disappeared into the crowd.

There was a pause.

Momo exhaled lightly. "I heard about your expansion overseas. Your company is doing well."

Todoroki nodded. "It is."

Another pause.

Momo traced the rim of her glass. "You look well, Shoto."

Todoroki's gaze flickered to hers. "You too."

Meanwhile, Sero rejoined Mina, who turned to him with a questioning look. "Sero? Weren't you with Todoroki?"

"He's with Momo."

Mina exhaled. "Oh."

Sero frowned. "Am I missing something? What's up with those two?"

Mina sighed. "You know how things are between divorced partners."

Sero blinked. "...Divorced?"

Mina nodded. Everyone knew Momo had always loved Todoroki, but marriage had been a whole different challenge. They had tried—really tried—but no matter how much they wanted it to work, it just didn't.

Todoroki had always carried too much on his shoulders. Between Toya's death and Endeavor's imprisonment, he had fallen into a spiral of self-isolation, unknowingly pushing Momo away. They had fought for their relationship, but in the end, love alone hadn't been enough.

"Damn," Sero muttered. "They were almost a perfect couple."

Before Mina could respond, a voice suddenly whispered near Sero's ear. "How's it going?"

Sero nearly jumped before turning to see Shoji standing behind him.

"Shoji! My man!" Sero grinned, pulling him into a hug.

Aoyama struck a dramatic pose."Ojiro-kun!"

Ojiro turned to see the sparkling hero. "Oh. Sparkles."

A certain blue-haired girl nudged Ojiro with her elbow. "That's not a problem, right?" [Take a guess who she is]

Aoyama smiled. "But of course! Elegance is never a problem!" He struck another dramatic pose.

The night raged on, drinks kept flowing, and the Class 1-A reunion continued, filled with laughter, rekindled friendships, and the occasional poorly executed backflip by our favorite pokemon.
