Chapter 37 - CHAPTER 37

"You need to master all of them, but let's start with Shave (Soru) and Moonwalk (Geppo) first," Carl mused.

Among the Rokushiki (Six Styles), Shave and Moonwalk were the most important for mobility.

He already had overwhelming offensive power and solid defensive abilities.

Garp folded his arms and said, "Alright, that works. Let me explain the essentials first."

"The technique behind Shave is simple. You propel yourself forward by kicking off the ground at incredible speed—stepping at least ten times in an instant—to generate an explosive force that launches you forward."

Carl nodded, absorbing the information.

"If you can master Shave, then Moonwalk will be easier to grasp," Garp continued. "Moonwalk is essentially the same technique but performed in the air, using repeated kicks to push yourself upward or stay airborne."

Kirby and Helmeppo, who were standing off to the side, listened attentively.

After all, Rokushiki was one of their primary training objectives under Garp.

"I understand the theory," Carl said, rubbing his chin. "But I still don't fully grasp the correct method of exerting force. I need a demonstration."

This was the main reason he hadn't practiced Rokushiki in the past.

Knowing the principle wasn't enough—he needed to see it firsthand.

With his current strength, if he simply stomped on the ground with full force, he could shatter the entire area with a single step rather than propelling himself forward.

Garp smirked. "Alright, watch closely!"

A red glow flashed in Carl's eyes as he activated Observation Haki (Kenbunshoku Haki) to carefully analyze Garp's movements.

Suddenly, Garp's feet moved at an inhuman speed, stomping on the ground hundreds of times in an instant.

Whoosh!

His figure vanished, reappearing in the distance as if he had teleported.

Then, with another Shave, he reappeared in his original position just as quickly.

"Hahahaha! Got all that?" Garp grinned. "Want me to show you again?"

He doubted that Carl could learn it from just one demonstration.

After all, most Marines took months to get the hang of even one technique.

Garp's version of Shave was especially monstrous—he stomped hundreds of times in an instant, making his movement speed far beyond an ordinary Marine's.

Carl, however, simply nodded. "I think I got it."

"Huh?" Garp's grin stiffened. "You actually understood?"

"Yeah. Doesn't seem that difficult," Carl replied with a puzzled look.

"No way!" Garp huffed. "Show me!"

Kirby and Helmeppo also looked doubtful.

Even they hadn't fully grasped it yet, and they had been training with Garp for a while.

"Alright," Carl shrugged. His eyes sharpened as an invisible force surged through his body.

Shave!

His feet stomped at an insane speed.

BOOM!

Carl disappeared.

A second later, a crash echoed across the training ground—he had blasted straight through the fence!

"… What the hell?"

Kirby and Helmeppo were speechless.

"H-He actually did it," Kirby muttered in disbelief.

"It's not just that," Garp took a deep breath. "He stepped hundreds of times on his first try!"

Carl walked back, shaking his head. "This movement technique is interesting, but I still can't control it properly."

Since he had overpowered the movement, the recoil flung him uncontrollably forward, sending him crashing into the fence.

Garp coughed. "Well, since you've already figured out Shave, let's move on."

He never expected Carl to learn Rokushiki so easily—it was downright ridiculous.

Garp sighed. "For the next part, let's do live combat training."

Carl narrowed his eyes. "You just want to fight, don't you?"

Garp rubbed his nose awkwardly. "Uh… well, it's the best way to learn!"

Carl exhaled. "Fine. Let's get this over with."

Garp grinned and turned to Kirby and Helmeppo. "Step back."

"Yes, sir!"

They hurried to the edge of the training field.

They had been trained by Garp himself, so they knew better than anyone—if he got serious, the battlefield would be completely destroyed.

Garp cracked his knuckles. "Alright then…"

In an instant, his body vanished.

Carl's Observation Haki flared.

Garp appeared behind him, his fingers glowing with piercing force.

Finger Pistol (Shigan)!

Carl barely had time to react—his Armament Haki (Busoshoku Haki) flared, reinforcing his arms as he blocked Garp's rapid strikes.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Despite being a purely physical battle, their blows rang out like clashing steel.

"As expected from you, Carl!" Garp grinned, increasing his speed.

Carl smirked. "The Six Forms are stronger than I thought."

Many people underestimated Rokushiki, thinking only Shave and Moonwalk were useful.

But in reality, its true power depended on the user.

Garp, for example, could block Carl's enhanced attacks with nothing but Iron Body (Tekkai)—a testament to his monstrous defense.

Their battle intensified, echoing across the field.

Garp seamlessly chained together all six forms:

• Shave for high-speed movement.

• Finger Pistol for rapid, piercing attacks.

• Iron Body to block strikes.

• Tempest Kick (Rankyaku) to unleash slashing wind attacks.

• Paper Arts (Kami-e) to dodge with incredible flexibility.

Carl countered each one, adapting at an absurd speed.

Then, after a brief pause—

His body softened unnaturally.

Garp's Finger Pistol strike missed as Carl twisted his form in an impossible way.

"You bastard…" Garp's eyes widened.

"That was Paper Arts?!"

Carl smirked, flicking his finger forward.

Finger Pistol!

A piercing force exploded from his fingertip, striking Garp in the chest.

BOOM!

Garp flew backward, shock evident on his face.

Before he could recover, Carl raised his foot—

Tempest Kick!

A slicing shockwave shot through the air, slamming into Garp.

CRASH!

A cloud of dust erupted as Garp smashed into the ground, leaving a crater.

"…You brat." Garp stood up, shaking off the impact.

Though the attacks weren't enough to truly hurt him, the fact that Carl had learned everything this quickly was utterly shocking.

"You're a monster," Garp muttered in awe.

He had expected Carl to struggle with the Six Forms.

Instead, he had mastered them all in a single fight.
