Xu Mo suddenly remembered a detail: the kitchen knife he had summoned had disappeared shortly after being used. Although the one who lost it gave a reasonable explanation, on further thought, Xu Mo found a flaw. Why was it specifically the kitchen knife that went missing, and not the Ghost Head Knife?
If this wasn't a coincidence, there could only be one explanation: the small kitchen knife was easier to hide than the long, wide Ghost Head Knife!
It seemed that there was indeed a mole within the security team... Xu Mo realized that he hadn't been cautious enough around Minister Wang and his group earlier!
After hearing Xu Mo's analysis, Chang Zitong was still a bit confused and placed her hand on her face. "Even if they have weapons, all the windows on the first floor are guarded by us. Could they have sneaked past to deal with the Crawlers?"
"Those pampered officials would never have the guts or skills for that," Du Zhizhang chuckled, thinking for a moment before adding, "Maybe it's from the underground warehouse? When we were releasing people there last time, I remember there was a small air vent about half a meter off the ground. With a weapon capable of killing zombies, one person could easily hold it down. I think the shards they have came from there."
After thinking it through, this seemed to be the only possibility. Chang Zitong cursed angrily, "Those bastards, they got lucky not running into any Crawlers!"
Xu Mo could tell that Chang Zitong was speaking out of frustration on his behalf, but he shrugged and smiled nonchalantly. "Luck doesn't last forever. With this number of zombies, how long do you think their meager enhancements will last? They've probably been torn apart already…"
Before Xu Mo could finish speaking, a sudden sound of hundreds of people screaming and crying came from downstairs, followed by urgent banging at the small iron door to the rooftop.
"Is anyone there?! Please, let us in! There are so many zombies!"
It was a group of survivors who had broken out from the first-floor screening room!
Xu Mo exchanged a glance with Du Zhizhang and Chang Zitong. In their eyes, the answer was clear. Without wasting time, they quickly grabbed some shards lying on the ground and stuffed them into their pockets before rushing to open the small iron door. Over a hundred men, women, and children, their faces as pale as the zombies, rushed into the rooftop, crying and crawling.
Just as they saw the zombies chasing behind them turning the corner to the rooftop stairs, Xu Mo quickly shut the iron door and approached a man who seemed to still be able to speak. He crouched down and asked, "What about the others? Didn't you prepare reinforced barriers at the door of the screening room? How could they break through so quickly?"
"They're dead... all of them... there was a woman... a white woman... the reinforced door shattered instantly... she'll catch up... we're dead..." The man said in terror.
A white woman? Xu Mo felt an ominous premonition arise in his heart.
The premonition turned out to be right. Moments later, Xu Mo vaguely heard a heavier, more forceful set of footsteps approaching the rooftop entrance.
Xu Mo swiftly summoned his USP pistol, aimed it at the iron door, and said grimly, "Du Bro, Sis Chang , get ready for battle! What's coming is probably something worse than a Crawler!"
Although Chang Zitong couldn't hear the enemy's footsteps yet, she still raised her hammer in front of Du Zhizhang, who, while summoning a Crawler from the shadows, held his own pistol aimed at the only entrance to the rooftop, prepared to attack at the first sign of the enemy.
"It's here!"
Just as Xu Mo finished speaking, with a loud crash, the small iron door, which weighed several dozen kilograms, was blown off its hinges. A tall white humanoid creature appeared in front of them.
"Du Bro, open fire!"
Without hesitation, Xu Mo immediately opened fire, disregarding the specifics of the creature before him. He relentlessly pulled the trigger of his USP pistol, sending over twenty rounds of rapid-fire bullets straight into the white humanoid.
As the smoke from the bullet impact on the brick wall cleared, Xu Mo finally saw the true form of this creature.
It was a woman about 1.8 meters tall, with a model-like figure—perfectly slender and beautiful. She had white hair and blood-red eyes, her skin a unique white with a tinge of blue. If not for the huge claws on her forearms, she would almost appear human.
If Xu Mo's memory served him correctly, there was only one kind of monster in the Biohazard series that matched this description—a Tyrant!
But this female Tyrant was much more beautiful than the grotesque creatures Xu Mo remembered…
Du Zhizhang's shooting skills were far from impressive, five out of six shots missed their target. However, Xu Mo's remaining twenty-three shots all hit the female Tyrant. But what shocked him was that the bullets, which could pierce even a Crawler, only left small holes—less than two centimeters deep—on the Tyrant's skin, which rapidly healed before his eyes.
"Xu Mo… am I dreaming? How can it be that even the Apocalypse weapons don't work on her? What… kind of monster is this?" Du Zhizhang was left in a daze, watching the unbelievable scene unfold.
"It's a Tyrant… one of the most powerful bio-monsters in the Biohazard series," Xu Mo said, holstering his pistol and drawing his Spartan short sword. He quickly set up his "Intimate Bonds" ability trap, trying to remain calm. "I don't think it's that she's immune to Apocalypse weapons... her defenses must be far superior to the destructive power of our weapons…"
"So, you're saying our current weapons can't break her defenses?" Chang Zitong asked, gripping her hammer more tightly.
"I… don't know, but this Tyrant is unlike any other monster we've encountered. She's probably much stronger than we can imagine…"
Xu Mo had another suspicion he hadn't shared with Du and Chang. From the Tyrant's strength and combat prowess, he suspected she might be one of the advanced Mirage creatures that Professor Mo had mentioned, creatures that only appeared under rare circumstances in low-level environments.
"Doesn't matter! We've got no choice but to fight! First strike—let's go!"
Chang Zitong didn't hesitate. Gripping her "Earthshatter" warhammer, she charged straight at the Tyrant, leaping into the air with lightning speed to smash her hammer down.
"Roar~!"
The Tyrant suddenly let out a deafening roar. She stepped forward and slashed upward with her claws, meeting Chang Zitong's warhammer head-on. The loud clang of metal ringing out, accompanied by a shower of bright sparks, echoed across the rooftop. Chang Zitong's face turned red from the impact, and she coughed up a mouthful of blood as she was thrown back several meters, her warhammer sent flying off the edge of the rooftop.
"Zitong, watch out!"
Du Zhizhang rushed forward, lifting Chang Zitong in his arms. Just then, a Crawler, which had been hiding nearby, silently pounced from behind the Tyrant, its claws aiming for her neck.
The Tyrant, enraged by the surprise attack, abandoned her pursuit of Chang Zitong and swung her giant claws toward the Crawler. The Crawler was impaled through the chest before it could react, and with a savage yank, the Tyrant tore it into two pieces, turning it into blue light that shot back into Du Zhizhang's body.
"Du Bro! Get Sis Chang out of here!"
In just one round, Du Zhizhang and Chang Zitong were both severely wounded. Xu Mo now understood the terrifying strength of this female Tyrant. Seeing that Du and Chang were about to be killed by the Tyrant's claws, Xu Mo swiftly moved, dashing toward them to intercept the Tyrant. With his Spartan short sword in hand, he lunged at the Tyrant's side, aiming for her rib.
Perhaps due to her overconfidence in her own defenses, the Tyrant didn't even bother to notice Xu Mo's strike. Her right hand still aimed at Du Zhizhang and Chang Zitong as she tried to grab them.
Du Zhizhang, panicked, quickly rolled backward, shielding Chang Zitong, narrowly avoiding the Tyrant's claws, which were powerful enough to pierce the floor itself.
As the Tyrant's left claw was about to strike again, Xu Mo felt a slight pain in her right side. Looking down, she saw that Xu Mo had managed to stab the short sword into her body! Although it only pierced less than an inch, the actual damage infuriated her. She immediately abandoned her pursuit of Du and Chang and, roaring, charged toward Xu Mo with a flurry of vicious attacks.
