Mo Huai sat with the boss, beside him Hou stood healed up and in front were three witnesses. They were moved to a private underground room, separate from the general audience. While this fight was being sorted, new fights had already begun.
Before the witnesses testified on the fight, Mo Huai asked aloud,
"What about Daizi's treasure, you wouldn't hold it hostage, would you?" He spoke aloud in public, hoping to rush the tribunal.
The boss laughed and shouted to the guards around,
"Get the boy's treasure! While we wait, let's hear the first witness. It should be ready for when you leave. Zhi Fa, please activate the formation."
Zhi Fa, one of the witnesses with the help of his goggles, stepped forward and placed his hand on the ground.
A circle in the dirt flaw suddenly formed, slowly making a formation which would restrict the sound released by those in there.
This was how the witnesses would tell the stories only to Mo Huai and the boss. The sound waves were only projected forwards, leaving the other witnesses clueless.
This would ensure each participant was only speaking the truth and not secretly collaborating, this was of course only for theatrics.
If Mo Huai wanted, he could easily have solved the problem, but he maintained his lower status as a young master rather than an Elder.
Zhi Fa then tested,
"Is that working?"
Mo Huai nodded and Zhi Fa continued,
"I didn't see much, the only reason I saw anything is due to these goggles. They detect the fluctuations by treasures. From my perspective Shou ran to Daizi and just before he hit... This is where I get fuzzy. Something activated and Daizi teleported behind him, ultimately hitting Shou in the back. That is all I have, but I can confidently say Daizi had the last hit and therefore won."
Zhi Fa's testimony ended with a bow.
"Next," The boss snapped, knuckles whitening on the armrest.
"Introduce yourself and how you saw what you saw." Mo Huai added.
The next person was a hooded figure, extremely tall covered from head to toe. They walked forward silently, only disturbing the dirt with their cloak's trail. Even before they spoke, a slight buzzing vibrated from under their cloak.
Once they were in the formation they begun,
"I am...Cang Ying, and I saw because. I don't feel comfortable saying why, if you permit me to continue."
"Do continue..." Mo Huai spoke as he narrowed us eyes, but he did not use any investigative techniques fearing detection.
Even as an Elder, he could be detected outside of his field of speciality. There were innumerable old monsters, he did not try to offend without confidence even if he was acting as a young master.
"I saw it all, what happened was that fighter boy was going to punch that scholar there. But then he smirked and used space laws. I won't say his technique for privacy, but I can confirm he alone teleported and then punched that fighter with the remaining laws. It was a law injection, if you check his body you will see space laws"
Cang Ying finished speaking. As he was speaking though, Hou had a bad feeling. He felt as if he was being watched and was covered in insects, his skin was crawling...
"O...Kay, duly noted. Next!"
While the formation stopped the voices from those in it from moving, it was ineffective those outside of it. This is why the boss could communicate to the final witness despite the force action being active.
Cang Ying silently, other than the constant buzz, floated backwards. No footsteps on the ground, just a slight dragging of the cloak. Hou had goosebumps whenever he watched him.
The final witness was a relatively normal looking woman. She was not exceptionally beautiful nor was she ugly. She had a mature look, mid fifties and wore a loose dress.
She had both her hands together as she walked forwards, brushing against Cang Ying and shuddering.
She stood in the formation and looked up at Hou smiling. She had warm eyes and a smile that did not falter as she spoke,
"I can confirm, theat boy there has won. He did the final attack. That is all, iff you want details I can say." She warmly smiled and didn't break eye contact with Hou.
As she spoke, Hou heard a different voice in his head, she transmitted directly,
"Mimicking the Heavenly Space Dragon. What a delightful technique. You have talent and vision, visit the Animal Apothecary if you want to know more. A respect for nature is a respect for all..."
Hou initially jumped but then settled, disguising that he had heard anything different.
The boss huffed and dismissed the witnesses with a wave of the hand. He then turned to Mo Huai and Hou,
"Well, you beat me. Even though you tricked me into thinking you were weak...I did agree to the deal. Take your gold and crawl back to your gilded palace, young master. My fighters don't need your tricks!" The boss chucked a small bag of coins to Mo Huai.
While he was owed gold, most revenue in the arena was in copper and silver, so he had to be given a huge amount of coins.
At different banks, the money can be exchanged for larger denominations or placed into an account.
Mo Huai caught the bag midair without glancing at it. He then turned his head to Hou,
"Daizi. Your arms work, don't they? You carry the money, I don't need it." He maintained his attitude.
The boss sat there exhausted and thought,
'Just a young master thinks he can just have fun and ruin my arena's reputation. That was no scholar, pfft.'
Hou and Mo Huai walked side by side as they walked out of the underground room and back into the main tent.
When they arrived at the surface, they were greeted by two guards to escort them to the exit. They passed Hou his wings which he grabbed and stopped to put them in. He unfurled then and swung it around his back, then it attached quickly merging with his Celestial Law Amplifying Physique.
As they walked out, they saw the mysterious Cang Ying also walk out at the same time. He stood there, just outside the tent...waiting. the slight buzzing resonating in the air.
