Reed had crushed nobles, slaughtered armies, and rewritten the laws of power. But this time? This was different.
This wasn't just a small army from a puny lord.
This was the kingdom's answer.
And they were coming to kill him.
Velka unfurled the war map, marking the enemy's movements. "They're moving faster than expected."
She pointed to the largest mark on the map.
"They've brought 10,000 troops. Heavy infantry, cavalry, archers, and siege weapons. And the one leading them…" She paused for a moment.
Reed smiled lopsidedly. "Our noble hero?"
Velka nodded. "Seric the Radiant. An A-rank Hero, the King's personal sword. A champion of the system."
Felix, one of the nobles now subservient to Reed, spoke in a hesitant tone. "He… is no ordinary human. It is said that he was blessed from birth. The system itself protects him."
Velka added, "No one has ever harmed him. Not even once."
Silence filled the room.
Even Reed's goblins looked uneasy.
A system message appeared before Reed's eyes.

Shia whistled. "Down to six percent, huh?"
Reed laughed. "Then we'll have to cheat."
Fighting Seric head-on? Suicide.
Facing the royal army on the open battlefield? Die foolishly.
So Reed did what he did best.
He refused to play fair.
Reed tapped the map. "We won't fight his army."
Velka frowned. "Then what do we—"
Reed grinned.
"We'll kill their Hero."
Step 1: Lure Seric into a one-on-one fight.
Step 2: Trap him into a fight with no way out.
Step 3: Destroy the system.
Shia crossed her arms. "And how do we get the legendary Hero to fight a Goblin Lord?"
Reed smiled slyly.
"By making him believe it was destiny."
Reed turned to the goblin shamans. "Spread rumors. Prophecies. False system messages."
Velka glared at him. "Are you sure he'll fall for it?"
Reed chuckled. "He's a slave to fate. If the system says he's meant to face me, he'll come."
Shia grinned, her eyes sparkling. "And once he comes?"
Reed's voice dropped.
"We rewrite fate with blood."
