For over a hundred years, mankind lived in peace, protected by three great walls—Maria, Rose, and Sheena. Towering at over 50 meters, these massive structures stood as the final barrier between humanity and the Titans, mysterious giants that devoured humans without reason.
No one knew where the Titans came from. No one understood why they existed. What was certain, however, was that they had driven mankind to the brink of extinction.
Within the walls, civilization flourished. Generations were born and raised without ever seeing a Titan, leading many to believe they were safe. Some even doubted the Titans' existence altogether. Humanity had grown Self-satisfied.
But everything changed in the year 845.
A Colossal Titan, far larger than anything recorded before, suddenly appeared outside Shiganshina District, a city built along Wall Maria. With a single, earth-shaking kick, it shattered the outer gate, leaving humanity exposed. In that moment, the illusion of safety was destroyed.
As the Armored Titan charged through the inner gate, an unstoppable flood of Titans poured in. Screams filled the air. Families were torn apart. Blood soaked the streets.
The survivors had no choice but to flee. Wall Maria was lost. Humanity was forced to retreat behind Wall Rose, abandoning a third of its remaining territory. Thousands died, and those who survived were left to face starvation, overcrowding, and despair.
This day marked the beginning of humanity's desperate struggle for survival.
