Chapter 37 - 37. Run 100 Laps

After Wang Feng and Wang Dong joined the running team, many voices boasting could be heard right away. However, the two of them didn't care about it.

As Wang Feng ran past Huo Yuhao, he asked, "Yuhao, are you okay? If you need help, just say it. I'll help you."

Yuhao responded briefly, "Alright."

Wang Feng saw that his condition was still fairly good. His breathing was a bit rushed, but overall, his physical energy was still enough to support him while running.

"Yuhao, I'm going to teach you a technique to run at a steady pace for a long time."

Wang Feng called Huo Yuhao to stop for a moment.

"What technique?" Huo Yuhao asked curiously.

Wang Feng thought for a moment, then began explaining several techniques to Huo Yuhao. Having trained since six years ago, he had a lot of experience in this area.

He explained about running postures suited for different situations—like how to adjust your landing posture, running with the forefoot, running with the whole sole, and heel striking. He also taught how to coordinate the posture of the upper body while running, which could slightly reduce the strain on the body.

But most importantly, he explained breathing methods. Wang Feng described abdominal breathing, breathing through both nose and mouth, and a more mysterious breathing rhythm. With the right rhythm, running could feel easier and more efficient. Each person had to find the rhythm that suited their physical condition best to reduce the burden on the body during a run.

"No matter how many skills you master, all of them still require a strong physical foundation," Wang Feng said.

He then waved to Huo Yuhao. "Come on, let's keep running. I'll fix your posture while we run."

"There's also one important technique. With this, I won't say running will become easy, but at least you'll be able to finish the whole run without feeling too exhausted. When you complete one lap, I'll talk to you!"

After saying that, Wang Feng and Huo Yuhao continued running. Along the way, Wang Feng corrected some of Huo Yuhao's movements.

"Yuhao, don't breathe through your mouth—use your nose! Inhale over two steps and exhale over three."

"Keep your waist straight!"

"Don't drop your head!"

Wang Feng kept running alongside Huo Yuhao while correcting his movements.

"Alright, it looks like you're starting to get used to it. Next, I'll teach you how to increase your soul power while training."

Huo Yuhao was surprised and stopped briefly. "What do you mean?"

Wang Dong, who happened to be passing by, was also intrigued when he heard what Wang Feng said. He then deliberately slowed down so he could stay close to them.

Wang Feng smiled. "Don't be surprised. Run slowly and listen to me. You don't need to talk, save your energy. Keep breathing in the rhythm I taught you and stay focused!"

Huo Yuhao listened attentively.

"You know about meditation, right? Meditation is used to absorb the energy of heaven and earth, which helps increase soul power. But why does meditation allow you to absorb that energy? It's because we are highly focused when doing it. Now that you've run several laps, many of your bad postures have been corrected."

Wang Feng continued, "While running, perform shallow meditation. Place all your attention on the meditation and let your body move naturally. When your focus is on meditating, you won't pay as much attention to your physical fatigue."

"If you don't believe me, try it for yourself."

He recalled the time before he discovered this method. He had to endure pressure and torment far beyond his age at the time. But after discovering this method, everything became much easier.

Meditation itself requires a high level of concentration. When the mind begins to focus on meditation and absorbing the energy of heaven and earth, the fatigue from training significantly decreases.

Huo Yuhao was amazed as he listened. He hadn't expected there to be such a method.

"You should have already learned the Mysterious Heaven Skill from the Tang Sect. Now that your body is getting tired, use this method—concentrate your mind and do a simple meditation. Focus most of your attention on the meditation to enhance your soul power. Let your running body maintain its own momentum."

Huo Yuhao followed Wang Feng's instructions and entered a state of half running, half cultivating.

"Remember, the more tired you are, the more important it is not to stop using this method. It not only increases the efficiency of your running training but also helps improve your soul power."

After saying that, Wang Feng didn't speak again.

After a while, Huo Yuhao began to enter a meditative state while running. His concentration was very strong, with almost no distracting thoughts. At first, he often bumped into others because he wasn't used to it, but after a few laps, he finally adapted.

Wang Feng was slightly surprised. He felt that Huo Yuhao might have extraordinary talent. If an ordinary person tried this method, they might need days or even months to succeed.

Meanwhile, Wang Dong, who was also trying out the method Wang Feng taught, still couldn't enter the same state as Huo Yuhao.

Wang Feng glanced at him and understood the problem. Although Wang Dong might be more naturally gifted than Huo Yuhao, his concentration was considerably weaker. So he would need more time to enter the same state. Additionally, his mental strength wasn't as strong as Huo Yuhao's.

After getting used to it, Huo Yuhao realized something surprising—his fatigue was barely noticeable.

It wasn't that his body wasn't tired, but his mind was no longer focused on the exhaustion.

Wang Feng observed closely that although Huo Yuhao was sweating heavily and his face was flushed, his running pace remained consistent and unwavering.

After a few more laps, Wang Feng saw that Huo Yuhao was becoming increasingly accustomed to the technique he had taught. His breathing remained stable, and although his body was still drenched in sweat, his steps became more steady and controlled.

"Good job, Yuhao! You're starting to master it. Don't rush, maintain your rhythm and stay calm," said Wang Feng as he ran alongside him.

Huo Yuhao nodded slightly, not daring to speak much so he could conserve energy. At this moment, he truly felt the benefits of the method Wang Feng had taught. Even though his body kept moving, his mind felt lighter and no longer fixated on the fatigue. He even felt a warm energy gradually spreading throughout his body, as if his soul power was starting to respond to the training.

Meanwhile, Wang Dong also managed to enter the same state. He smugly thought to himself, I really am a genius!

Although Wang Dong thought that way, he also felt that Wang Feng, who had created this method, was truly incredible.
