Chapter 18 - chapter Eighteen: Conspiracies

Sera

.....

Sera's mind racing with possibilities, she crumpled the paper in her hand, feeling a mix of fear and curiosity. She knew that she had to be careful, that she couldn't just move around without caution.

She waited until the clock struck midnight, then slipped out of her room, trying to be as quiet as possible. She made her way to the old oak tree, her heart pounding in her chest.

As she approached the tree, she saw a figure waiting for her. It was a girl with long, curly hair and piercing green eyes,Sera thinks she didn't seem to be a student at the academy but she drew closer to her.

"Who are you?" Sera demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.

The girl smiled, her eyes glinting in the moonlight with an edge cutting smile that made it seem like she had lost her marbles. "My name is not important," she said. "What's important is that I have information about what happened to Javier."

Sera's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with possibilities. "What do you know?" she asked, her voice firm.

The girl leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know that Javier was not the first victim," she said. "There have been others, all of them drained of their auras."

Sera's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice shaking.

The girl smiled again, her eyes glinting with a knowing light. "I mean that Javier was just a pawn in a much larger game," she said. "A game that you, Sera, are now a part of."

The girl goes on saying "Do you know how hard it was to find you he was right you really are the bonded I want to take you and show you what we Shadow's have to offer but he said we should be patient and you would come all on your own."

Sera's mind reeled as she tried to process the girl's words. What did she mean by "he said I will come to you according to what I know the Academy is safer and the shadow's are the one killing people"?.

The girl seemed to sense Sera's confusion. "You're wondering what I mean, aren't you you are meant for great things Serafina we won't touch you because we need you but all will be solved when your origin is revealed?" she asked, her eyes glinting with amusement and craziness.

Sera stares, her heart still pounding in her chest.

The girl leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper. "The Shadow that attacked Javier is just one part of a larger organization," she said. "An organization that's been secretly manipulating the Academy for years your principal knows we lurk in the shadows but refuses to deal with us more will die Serafina until you join or stop using only one way out but all in due time."

Sera's eyes widened in shock. "I can't seem to get your words and what do you mean origin, does that mean you know my biological parents."she demanded.

The girl smiled again, her eyes glinting with a knowing light. "That's need-to-know information, Sera," she said. "But trust me, you'll find out soon enough."

As Sera stood there, trying to process what had just happened, she heard a faint rustling in the bushes. She spun around, her heart pounding in her chest.

And that's when she saw him - a figure emerging from the shadows, his eyes fixed intently on her, she looks closely and sees Aiden she sighs out of relief and thinks it would be better to be with one of the descendants than with a crazed shadow lunatic.

She turns to see the girl was already gone like she never existed she turns back to Aiden and says trying to sound calm," why are you out here?."

Aiden stares at her intensively like he could see through her lies Sera feels weirdly insecure she pulls her hair to the back of her ear and blushes and thinks thank God the moonlight can't highlight her red cheeks she coughs and repeats " you didn't answer .... what are you doing here."

Aiden replies "I usually go out for a jog at this time."

Sera thinks for him to go out on a jog by this time she heard he was the gatekeeper of hell but not much was known about it but the fact that he guarded the gates of hell.

As Sera seems lost in thought Aiden stares at her and thinks did she wear black like the mortal spy movie to blend in with the dark he grins and think she is cute in her black cat like jumpsuit and black sneakers he sees her bite her lips and thinks on when he saw her kissing Xavier at the party all up on his thighs like a purring cat he thinks to pull out her bottom lip out before she wounds herself .

"So, why are you out here, Serafina?" Aiden asked, his voice dripping with an unspoken challenge.

Sera's heart skipped a beat as she met his gaze. "I got a letter," she said, her voice barely above a whisper this was the first time he called her name and it made her shiver the way he said it.

Aiden's gaze never wavered, his eyes seeming to see right through her. "I thought rainbow bitch could handle the descendants," he said, his voice dripping with amusement.

Sera laughed, her heart still pounding in her chest. "I can handle myself," she said, her voice firm. "And your little queen bees are no match for me."

Aiden's eyes glinted with amusement, his smile sending shivers down Sera's spine. "You don't seem half bad, S," he said, his voice low and husky. "I might see you in light class."

Sera smiles and replies "well we have to wait and see AId."

As she says that Aiden stops and Sera thinks why did she give him a nick name they weren't close lost in thought

Aiden replies " see you kitsuragi." And he continues his jog.

Sera turns and sees he walked her to the dorm she thinks well not all of the descendants might be bad, she climbs up the stairs and thinks of ways to get better at her magic class she hated being defenseless she walks in pulls off her sneakers and her jumpsuit dives into bed naked while thinking about all she learnt about the shadows and as she drifts to sleep she thinks of Aiden back and how disappointed she felt when he left.
