Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

After signing the divorce papers, Nan Song vanished from Bei City without a trace. No one expected her to reappear like this.

And damn—it was *cool as hell!*

Even Fu Yu was stunned, his lips quirking up as his peach-blossom eyes locked onto Nan Song, unable to look away.

When a woman was this effortlessly badass, men might as well not exist.

Even Yu Jinwen—who usually remained unshaken under pressure—felt his composure crack. *Since when did she know how to fly a helicopter?*

Under the crowd's awed gazes, Nan Song strode straight to Yu Fengjiao without so much as a glance elsewhere. She knelt gracefully, her sharp edges softening instantly.

"Mom, you scared me half to death. We can't have this."

Even the formidable Yu Fengjiao melted at her arrival, clutching her hand in surprise. "You reckless child, *you* scared *me!* Flying is dangerous—how could you take such a risk?"

"And what about climbing up here? Isn't that dangerous too?" Nan Song wrinkled her nose in playful reproach.

Yu Fengjiao leaned in conspiratorially. "I never planned to actually jump. Just wanted to scare some sense into that stubborn son of mine—who insists on marrying *that kind of woman!*"

Nan Song nodded in understanding.

"Then let's go down. The wind's strong up here—catching a cold wouldn't be worth it."

She adjusted the thin blanket over Yu Fengjiao's lap—one she had sewn for her mother-in-law herself. Yu Fengjiao adored it, unlike her ex-husband, who never appreciated anything she did for him.

Yu Fengjiao obediently agreed, transforming into a docile tigress in her daughter-in-law's presence.

Yu Jinwen watched the two women, their bond so natural it twisted something in his chest.

From the moment Nan Song entered the Yu family, she had somehow charmed everyone—winning over even the most skeptical until they became her staunchest defenders, often siding with her against *him.* It irked him endlessly.

He'd assumed she was just shrewdly currying favor. He disliked calculated women, so the more his family praised her, the more he resisted her.

But now, it hit him—his mother, his grandparents… these were people who had navigated the world's complexities for decades. If Nan Song had been fake, wouldn't they have seen through it?

Meanwhile, Zhuo Xuan stood amidst the crowd, jealousy burning in her chest.

*She* was supposed to be the Yu family's daughter-in-law now. *She* was the bride today—the star of the show! How dare Nan Song steal her moment?

"Mom—!"

Zhuo Xuan cried out dramatically, rushing toward Yu Fengjiao in her wedding gown, her face a mask of concern. "How could you do this? Whatever's troubling you, we could've talked it out! This will make Jinwen look like an unfilial son in the eyes of the world!"

Her words instantly soured the mood, plunging the scene into awkward silence.

Yet Zhuo Xuan remained deep in her performance, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Nan Song and Yu Fengjiao turned to her in unison, their expressions identically disgusted.

"Can you shut up?"

"And who the hell are you calling *Mom?*"

Zhuo Xuan froze. She instinctively looked to Yu Jinwen for help—but he stayed silent.

Worse, she realized with dread—the light in his eyes when he looked at her was *gone.*
