Chapter 20 - CHAPTER 20

Seven days later, Uenome decisively sent Asuka away. He himself was dedicated to guiding the training of Hoshinohara, stating that for the foreseeable future, he didn't want to see Asak.

In response to this, Chao Yanqian claimed he could do nothing about it.

On the first day of training, Chao Yanqian completed both tree-climbing and water-walking exercises. With his strong chakra control, these two tasks were not difficult for him.

Seeing Asakura's excellent chakra control, Uenome thought he could also teach him a few high-level ninjutsu to give him better self-defense skills during missions. So, Uenome passed down the ninjutsu he knew, along with some commonly used techniques, to Asakusa.

But then a problem arose.

This kind of elemental ninjutsu, unlike forbidden techniques, primarily tests the user's control over chakra—Chao Yanqian's strongest point. Any ninjutsu, when taught to Chao Yanqian, only needed a few practice attempts before he could effectively use it.

In just seven days, Chao Yanqian learned seven ninjutsu from Uenome, which left Uenome feeling quite demoralized, prompting him to drive Chao Yanqian away.

However, this worked out well for Chao Yanqian. Learning too many ninjutsu in a short period may not allow for full comprehension. Moreover, his chakra reserves were still too small to use much ninjutsu in battle. No matter how many techniques Chao Yanqian learned, he wouldn't be able to use them effectively with his current chakra levels.

For Chao Yanqian, the most important thing now was basic training to lay a solid foundation. Once his body grew and his chakra reserves accumulated, he would truly be able to excel.

For an ordinary person, this approach would certainly be ideal.

However, Chao Yanqian had greater ambitions. He wasn't content with just being an ordinary elite ninja, like Kakashi in the future—seemingly powerful, but still powerless when facing truly formidable opponents.

Of course, basic practice couldn't be neglected, but Chao Yanqian also made frequent visits to Konoha Hospital.

With an introduction from Hoshinohara's mother, Chao Yanqian easily gained access to Konoha Hospital and started to learn about medical ninjutsu.

To become a qualified medical ninja, years of training and the study of human anatomy and medical pharmacology are required.

New to medical ninjutsu, Chao Yanqian found the vast amount of knowledge overwhelming. The medical ninjas at Konoha Hospital were too busy to guide a novice like him, especially since he wasn't there to formally join the medical corps.

Fortunately, Hoshinohara's mother was kind enough to help. Besides recommending some basic medical texts, she allowed Chao Yanqian to observe her treating trauma patients, explaining the methods to handle different injuries.

No one helps someone without reason, and the fact that Hoshinohara was Chao Yanqian's teammate played a role in this.

In future missions, if Hoshinohara were to get injured, the knowledge Chao Yanqian acquired would prove invaluable.

Chao Yanqian was usually quiet but thoughtful, and he always liked to consider things in depth. With this in mind, he requested to learn the [Healing Technique] and [Hemostasis].

[Healing Technique] and [Hemostasis] are the most basic medical ninjutsu. By concentrating chakra in the palms, a medical ninja can treat a target's injuries. These two techniques are essential for any medical ninja.

However, these techniques require high levels of chakra control, making them more difficult than ordinary ninjutsu.

As for [Mystical Palm Technique], that was a more advanced form of medical ninjutsu. Only a handful of people in Konoha Hospital could use it, and even Hoshinohara's mother didn't know it.

After some thought, Hoshinohara's mother agreed to Chao Yanqian's request.

While treating patients, she explained the use of these two techniques to Chao Yanqian.

Chakra is a difficult energy to control, especially for children. Accurately managing chakra is nearly impossible for most.

While Hoshinohara often called Chao Yanqian a rare genius, her mother believed it would take months, maybe even more than a year, for him to master the [Healing Technique] and [Hemostasis].

To her surprise, Chao Yanqian learned both techniques in just one night.

Theoretically, Chao Yanqian was now capable of treating trauma patients. Although this seemed unbelievable, he had achieved it. After all, while Chao Yanqian had the appearance of a child, he had the mind of an adult.

Hoshinohara's mother was shocked by Chao Yanqian's rapid progress. Almost immediately, word spread throughout Konoha Hospital about his achievements.

Given his previous feats, it wasn't long before the title of "genius" was firmly attached to Chao Yanqian.

In their eyes, if someone is a genius, their abilities are more easily accepted, no matter how extraordinary. It's as if his talent in medical ninjutsu had been there all along!

However, the title of "genius" overshadowed all the effort Chao Yanqian had put into his training. No one could see the hard work beneath his apparent natural talent.

Since the day he began practicing, Chao Yanqian had hardly indulged in any leisure. Every day was filled with training, with no time wasted except for sleeping and resting.

Whenever the thought of slowing down entered his mind, he would picture himself being killed in the future, pushing his nerves and forcing himself to keep going.

Though the label of "genius" was a point of pride for Konoha villagers, especially now that it was being discussed in Konoha Hospital, Chao Yanqian's goal of gaining Tsunade's attention had also been achieved.

Chao Yanqian couldn't explain his situation to anyone. Could he really tell people he wasn't a genius and that his achievements came from relentless hard work?

It wasn't possible to say, so Chao Yanqian remained silent.

Time passed—minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, week by week...

Tomorrow, the holiday would be over, meaning Chao Yanqian would have to leave the village to carry out missions.

For Chao Yanqian, missions were a waste of time. He didn't want to waste any time at all. Even at night, Chao Yanqian continued training alone in the woods.

"Such a hardworking kid..."

The faint, hoarse voice made the hairs on the back of Chao Yanqian's neck stand on end.
