Willow's mind was racing with questions, but she didn't know where to start. What did a break mean for her parents? Would they live apart? Would they get divorced?
As she looked at Mike and Rachel, she saw the uncertainty etched on their faces. They were navigating uncharted territory, just like her.
"I don't understand," Willow said finally, her voice shaking. "What does this mean for us?"
Rachel reached out and took Willow's hand. "It means we'll be living apart for a while," she explained gently. "But it doesn't mean we don't love you. You'll still see both of us, just not together."
Willow nodded, trying to process this new information. It wasn't ideal, but maybe, just maybe, this break was what her parents needed to heal and rediscover themselves.
As the three of them sat there, wrapped in an uncomfortable silence, Willow realized that she had a choice to make. She could let her parents' problems define her, or she could use this experience to grow and learn.
