Markus watched with batted breath for his last reward, he hoped that it would be something just as grand as his last reward.

He felt his eye twitch when he obtained that, though when a warm sensation hit his head and knowledge trickled into his mind he simply sighed in resignation.
It was a useful skill, though not one he thought he'd need but useful nonetheless.
So, done with his mission he had been just about to look through his magic book when a new screen blared to life.

Watching the system bring up screen after screen he wanted to groan but seeing what they had been about his eyes lit up.
' They can evolve?'
The thought that his skills could evolve and even become magical was great news for him, at least he wouldn't have to go on deadly adventures in order to obtain books on magic...yet.
So as he looked at the three choices infront of him he immediately chose the one he was most interested in.

He liked magic, that was all he was gonna say.

—Spell: Preservation - A spell that increases the shelf life of any dish or food it is cast on by X10.

As soon as he had chosen the magical route he had felt his mind flare, knowledge piercing its way into his mind and body, he developed a sense of muscle memory for each spell that grilled itself into his head.
It took moments before he grew accustomed to the feeling, then he noticed that his magic sense had improved.
His perception of it becoming just a bit clearer even when he wasn't actively focusing on using his perk [Genius Comprehension] which granted him the same effect.
He immediately sought to test his magic, but since there was nothing in his vicinity to be used as 'ingredients', he instead sought something to test his magic on and found a bottle of water he kept besides his bed.
So he focused on it and willed his magic towards it.
Surprisingly, everything came to him easily.
The water swiftly floated out of the bottle with minimal focus, it settled just distance away from him and immediately he felt the amount of control he had on it.
With a mental switch he turned the waters temperature up a notch and watched as it bubbled but no steam ever left.
He then turned the temperature down and watched it settle to room temperature in an instant.
All the while inside he was feeling excited, he just used magic.
Real fucking magic.
He then remembered that magic had a cost in the form of mana, so bringing up his status to see how much mana he had used, he was surprised.

Not much was used, so that meant he could experiment even further.
So he focused back on the ball of water, letting the knowledge he had and even letting [Genius Comprehension] free of its limits he had set upon it, the sensory overload that he obtained from it wasn't fun to handle he realised, so he kept a tight lid on it for now until he figured a way to handle it.
But for now he needed it's deductive capabilities.
He would be trying to shape the water into different shapes, in hopes that he could use the spell for more destructive purposes.
Something like hurling steaming hot water on his enemies or throwing sharp thin water needles at them tickled his fancy.
He just hoped that with the help of [Genius Comprehension], [Loved By Nature] and his mana pool that he would be able to learn such things.
He looked at his inventory.
The [A Bend In Magic] magic book still laying there alongside his new sword and [Cleansing Potion].
He'd give those his attention when he found out whether he could modify his current spells or not.
So with that thought in mind, he delved deep into his mind and filtered everything out, only focusing on his newfound magical capabilities.
