Luna Everleigh's POV
***
The sky above me was endless and starless, stretching into an infinite void. The ground beneath my feet wasn't solid, but liquid silver, rippling like moonlight on water.
I turned slowly, my breath shallow.
A dream? A vision?
No.
This was something else.
A figure materialized in the distance, walking toward me with slow, deliberate steps.
My chest tightened as I took in her features—her long, silver-white hair, her golden eyes that shone like a second moon.
She was me.
But she wasn't.
"Selene," I whispered the name before I even understood it.
A name that felt like it had been mine once. A name that carried the weight of countless lifetimes.
Selene—The Last Lunar Guardian.
The woman before me regarded me with a knowing smile, sadness flickering behind her eyes. "You're finally here."
My heart pounded. "Where is here?"
She lifted a hand, and suddenly, the world around us shifted.
I saw glimpses—flashes of a time long gone.
A temple bathed in moonlight. A battle that tore the heavens apart. Blood staining the white marble floor.
And standing at the center of it all—him.
My pulse stilled.
Rhydian.
But it wasn't him. Not the man I knew now.
This Rhydian wore the armor of a warrior, his hair longer, his face sharper, colder. There was something darker in his eyes, something I couldn't place.
A name echoed through my mind.
Not Rhydian.
Caelum.
I gasped as realization struck like a thunderclap.
Rhydian had a past he never spoke of.
A past that was woven into mine.
