E-Rantel!
Adventurer's Guild.
Change of POV: Velzard
I took first step to my new goal in in this life by stepping into Adventurer's Guild.
A hall packed of actions and adventurers.
Immediately, all eyes were on me.
My [Capitano's Armor] of pitch-black color with my white coat strapped on my shoulders, covering my whole body.
With my snow-white long hair poking from behind my helmet, making quite interesting contrast of colors.
Why back black armor with white hair, some might say.
But it definitely strikes for an amazing and intimidating figure.
Or rather, on my equipment.
I continued walking, undisturbed but due to my heightened sense while still albeit nerfed Dragon Senses I still heard jealously murmurs from nearby Adventurers. Some people just couldn't keep their jealousy at bay and only know to insult.
"Another daddy's son?"
"Fucking boy, flaunting with his father's money."
"I bet he is ugly under that helmet."
"I bet he won't reach Silver, he will die next week."
Such encouraging remarks! Truly fascinating! And coming from Copper and Iron Adventurers at that.
And similar remarks were shot on my way. They annoyed me a bit so I tried to lessen my senses even more if possible, but their opinion won't matter in the long run.
They are weaklings in front of Gazef even to begin with, let's not try to compare them to me.
And with my thoughts coming to an end, I reached Receptionist lady, who seems to be a bit intimidated by my armor?
Receptionist lady appears to be above average in looks, and also tall for a woman in this age. She is almost as tall as me, few centimeters shorter probably.
She is wearing normal brown dress that compliments her curves, probably to attract attention or even potential husband from Adventurers, who knows. Overall dress signifies her status as being a more wealthier commoner than most.
Her face shows her age to be in early twenties, it goes more on cute side rather than 'sexy'. Her skin appears to be slightly tan than usual people here. Could she be foreigner or just a woman who worked too much in sun?
I'm not sure, but I won't ask her about it.
"I want to register as an adventurer." I spoke calmly, but I questioned Gazef about related things needed for Adventurer job. Apparently, educational system for most countries is at minimum. Meaning only educated people would be merchants, families of servants, nobles, royals and some wealthy exceptions.
Apparently it's common for adventurers to not know how to read and write so Receptionist Job falls under her oversight to help them navigate jobs.
Ainz was too cautious. But that's a good thing.
Receptionist sweated even more before she asked in small but weak voice.
"Are you Sir Capitano?" She asked as she clasped her hands around her chest tightly, trying to conceal her trembling hands.
Hmm? How does she know about me? Did Gazef mention me maybe?
"Yes, that would be me? May I ask how you know of me?"
At my question, she gulped once more before stuttering bit.
Several gasps were hear behind me, coming from numerous Adventurers.
Did words about me spread so fast already? There were only several hours since I left Gazef and his man after we arrived in E-Rantel.
I wanted to explore this city little bit before I registered as an Adventurer first, but did Gazef spread words about my fight against Sunlight Scripture or were it his men?
I don't remember him spreading rumors about Ainz to begin with, while I do remember him mentioning Ainz while being surrounded by other people, such as King or Nobles.
But that's where his words stopped at.
"Wait, that guy. Is he the guy who defeated Sunlight Scripture along with Gazef Stronoff ?"
"No way! I though those were just baseless rumors!"
"Dude, that guy fills out whole description!"
"They said that Black Knight called Capitano and Gazef Stronoff together united to defeat whole Sunlight Scripture."
Oh, rumors spread fast.
"S-sir Capitano, G-guildmaster has been waiting for y-you in his office, I-If you w-would kindly follow m-me?" She asked while stuttering entire time while clapping with her hands, probably her method to deal with stress or fear?
I nodded at confirmation, which caused a small smile of relief to cross her face before she composed herself once before she walked out from behind her desk.
"Follow me, S-sir C-Capitano."
She requested before she began walking away in direction of stairs, I followed behind closely keeping adequate distance of 2 meters away from her.
Adventurer's Guild appears as a building with first floor being used as bar for Adventurers to drink and eat in, while also talking about their plans and how to proceed. It's packed with dozens of Adventurers.
All in all, it is cheerful atmosphere.
Everything appears to be painted in brown, yet this is medieval society. Wooden walls, nothing spectacular nor worthy mentioning
~Creak!
Stairs are creaking slightly due to our weights. Poor quality.
Old-fashioned .
This reminds me, I already miss Wi-Fi and Youtube. Listening to some music and reading something was fine just two days ago.
I shaked my head at that. I miss the luxury of modern life already.
After we walked up to stairs, I was meet with sight of different doors on both left and right sides of building.
I let out single chuckle, if anything it appears to have startled Receptionist in front of me if her shoulders shaking is anything to go by.
Why is she so scared of me!?
"This door, Sir Capitano. Inside Guildmaster has been waiting for you. N-now if you e-excuse me!" She said rapidly before running off.
She is fast, that's for sure.
I thought as I looked at her running back for a second before giving doors in front of me second glance over.
And as expected, unfamiliar words are engraved on the brown door, I can't read them yet.
I'll probably have to do something about language sooner or later, I can't really be dependent on that Receptionist Lady for everything now, can I?
I though so before knocking on door three times.
~Knock!
~Knock!
~Knock!
Three knocks.
"Come in!" Relied deep voice from inside the office. Probably belonging to Guildmaster, and voice in question sounds familiar, I think he was that guy from anime.
Well, here we go.
I grabbed door's handle slightly before turning it around.
I opened door, and took one step inside.
Office itself is not something unusual you'll see in medieval age, it rather has table and behind the table is window. And overall it's small room.
Table is full of Paperwork.
Poor Guilmaster, I pity him!
I mentally winced at amount of paperwork he has.
And behind table is a chair and sitting on it is none other than person who is probably Guildmaster of E-Rantel.
Ah! He is that guy from Honyopenyoko episode, that fake name Ainz used for Shalltear is grand! Peak Cinema! I can't even pronounce it properly and I probably don't remember it right.
Guildmaster appears to be middle-aged man with gray short hair and gray mustache as his primary features on his face along with strong Jaw line. And his eyes are sharp, signifying his experience as an former Adventurer no less.
He also appears to be about same height as me. So about 180cm more or less. I can't guess it correctly, it was never my better subject.
I should also mention his form is rather muscular even for Adventurers, he must be still pretty strong even in his age. I guess it was expected, not everyone could become Guildmaster of Adventurer's guild in big city like E-Rantel.
He is also wearing some-what old leather armor. Why would he wear leather armor is beyond me, but he might have been doing something else beside being here in his office to receive me.
But he was not the only one person in the room, no. Beside him is an Magic Caster.
I can't see his face nor his body correctly because he is wearing cloak, but he is shorter than me for head and also is holding old wooden staff in his hand.
His head appears to be shaven, while his hair is wild and blonde, while his eyes give off that knowledgeable shine, an eyes you would have seen from someone who wants to learn as mus as they can under correct circumstances.
" Sir Capitano, I presume?" Asked Guildmaster, at which I nodded. "I'm Pluton Ainzach, Guildmaster of E-Rantel Guild, and this is.." He trailed off while motioning at person beside him, giving time for Magic Caster beside him to introduce himself.
Magic Caster took the initiative and stepped forward before introducing himself.
"I'm Theo Rakheshir, Guildmaster of Magician Guild of E-Rantel."
Seeing this, it's time for me to introduce myself properly too. It's only proper to do so. I should try to make some type of connections between these two, after all they are quite powerful men in this city.
"I'm Capitano, wandering Warrior." I gave them half-baked introduction, well honestly I don't care much about it, because I'm going to be an Adventurer really soon I hope. But it will fit for now.
"Take a seat first. " Pluton requested before motioning at chair in front of him. "We have much to discuss."
Let's see if Nigun kept his mouth shut. He better did, for his own good.
I walked up to it before pulling it and sitting on it.
"Is it about Sunlight Scripture?" I asked them right off the bat, while I have time to chit-chat, I really want to take some rest and bath soon. I'm Human too!
Er, I mean I at least have Human soul!
Pluton nodded, but it was Theo who continued.
"We personally had part in Interrogation along with Gazef Stronoff in Interrogation of Sunlight Scriptures. To be able to take on so many Magic Casters and Angels was an extraordinary feat itself." Praised the Magic Caster.
"Indeed, and from Gazef's words, you wish to register as an Adventurer right?" Asked Pluton before he opened one of his drawers.
"Yes, that's indeed correct." I replied, am I getting registered as an Adventurer above of Bronze-rank? That would be great, I could take on stronger than usual Monsters and gain more EXP than usual by going ranks by ranks.
"Then, what would your team name be?" Then Pluton pulled out one plate from his drawer, upon closer inspection it's light-blue like colored. " You will be Platinum-Ranked Adventurer from now on, this is the highest rank I'm allowed to give you. Giving you Mithril right away would cause me trouble right now especially when we are still unaware of your abilities. But from what I have heard of, You would reach Adamantite-Class In no time."
Without further ado , I took Platinum plate from him and put in one of my spare pockets before transferring it into my inventory. Just in case, I don't want to lose it on my way, it would be an shame truly.
"This is already far more than I expected." I thanked, yes it indeed is.
I suppose that saving Gazef paid off very well.
Theo interjected.
"We have also heard that you are capable of using Ice related Magic. May I ask you to elaborate on it and to what tier you are capable to cast Magic?"
Hmm, what should I say, I should stay as secretive as possible.
"Ice-Magic you speak of-" I said before bringing up my right hand in front of my helmet before materializing, slowly, after all i don't want them to jump on me in case they think I may attack them, materializing Ice spear as it quickly formed. "Is my ability to control Ice-Element, I can manage small feats with it."
Pluton nodded while his eyes are trained on my spear, but Theo's eyes are shining as he closed the gap between us quickly. Fast for Magic Caster!
"What tier of Magic is this? It does not look like anything I had seen before?!" He couldn't help exclaiming.
Here it comes, bullshitting!
"It comes from my talent." At that, both of them raised their eyebrows. " I can manipulate Ice to great extent, " I showed them by transforming spear into sword. Then dissolved that same sword into multiple Ice pieces that scattered around the room before transforming into dozens of Ice Spears, then disintegrating into nothing.
If their expression is anything to go by, they are baffled by it.
"But that is not full extent of your 'talent' is it? We heard from Sunlight Scripture's Magic Casters that you could create dozens of Ice Pillars to destroy their [Archangel Flames] easily without any difficulty whatsoever." Theo took a breath before he narrowed his eyes at me. " [Archangel Flames] are 3rd Tier-Magic Summons, meaning those Pillars were equal to 3rd or Higher by their Destructive Capacity."
This guy knows his business, he is not Grandmaster of Magician's Guild for nothing it seems, as expected from knowledge seeking man.
Though, I will not be holding back much against enemies and try to be secretive as possible like AInz and Narberal. I will enjoy this life because I got second chance, what is the point of me getting another chance If I have to live like an bug under a stone hiding from nothing?
As long as I do not cause problems for anyone from Dragon Lords, they will not be coming for me so I'm safe, but Platinum Dragon Lord would probably sent out his armor sooner or later to meet me and see if I'm threat to New World as 'Player'.
"You are correct."
"And you also have been capable to easily defeat[Archangels of Flames] and [Principality of Observation] in direct combat, both those feats put you at Adamantite-Rank, Blue Rose was another Adamantite-Ranked team that fought and managed to repel Sunlight Scripture in past, and you managed to defeat entire Unit along with Gazef's help..."
There was not much thinking need to be done about underlying meaning of that sentence.
"But unfortunately, I don't have power to directly promote you to Adamantite-Rank, you will have to prove it old fashioned way further on."
I nodded at this, it's fine honestly, starting as Platinum-Ranked adventurer is already more than enough.
"And what do you want to call your team ?" Asked Theo this time, bringing our conversation to prior topic.
I already have decided a name for it. And it sounds cool enough for me, and combined with my abilities it would indeed be perfect name.
"Frost Knight will be name , for now I'm alone, but If another Adventurer happens to join my team would it be appropriate for it to change from Frost Knight into Frost Knights?"
A small grin crossed Pluton's face.
"Yes, that's not a problem at all.
I nodded before standing up from my chair.
"May I leave?"
Immediately, Pluton stood up too before outstretching his hand in front of me for hand shake obviously. Prompting me to take it and shake it.
I took it and could feel his firm grip on my hand, I see, he is probably testing me. And I increased my grip on his hand in return.
"Welcome into our ranks."
After our hand shake, Theo also outstretched his hand which I returned by properly hand shaking.
Without further ado, I left Pluton's office.
"What do you think of him?" Asked Theo before he walked up to previously occupied chair and sitting on it.
"He is dangerous, more so than anyone I meet before. Even that girl from blue rose was not as dangerous as he is." Pluton answered before he outstretched his hand, and stopped his concentrated control over it. Causing his pinky finger to throb .
Theo couldn't help chuckling.
"Ah, your damn pinky finger and throbbing pain that always comes up when you meet someone dangerous that you cannot handle, that same instinct saved our lives dozens of times when we were just Platinum Adventurers." Spoke Theo as he couldn't help remembering old times when both of them and along with two other team mates were running around in younger days as Adventurers.
Those times were to behold! He chuckled once more.
"Yes, and now it's the highest ever amount of throbbing pain I have ever felt when that Instinct kicked in.." Pluton couldn't help muttering, this was big deal. He just invested in not just potential Adamantite-Ranked Adventurer in future but 100% Adamantite-Ranked Adventurer in Future. And by extension, a Monster in Human skin.
There is no will he reach Adamantite-Class, it's just a matter of time.
When.
"Yes, he was dangerous. I could feel it in air. His Ice talent or whatever it was is even more so. Imagine you are warrior capable of competing against Gazef Stronoff, but not only that, a Warrior who is capable of using Up to 4th Tier Destructive Capacity Ice-Magic related power.
Both of them remained silent for seconds, as realization finally hit them.
"We are witnessing another birth of legendary hero, like those of Thirteen Heroes.."
"And his grip is hard too."
