Chapter 5 - Omega

The night had been long, chaotic, and beyond anything Kira had ever expected.

He was on his bed.On the other side of the room, Roxy was laid next to Kira, having crashed there after everything settled down.

Then came a groggy groan from the hallway.

Aira.

Kira winced. He barely had time to sit up before his sister pushed the door open, rubbing her temples.

"What the hell happened last night...?" Aira mumbled, her voice hoarse. She scanned the room suspiciously. "Why does it feel like I had a nightmare about a naked blue chick?"

Kira and Roxy exchanged glances.

"You were drunk," Kira said quickly. "Like, really drunk. You probably imagined it."

Aira frowned, looking unconvinced. "...I don't think I–"

"You also tried to call Omega Lab," Roxy added, not missing a beat. "We had to stop you. You were gonna report an alien sighting and everything."

Aira paled. "...What?"

"You don't remember?" Roxy smirked. "You even passed out mid sentence. It was hilarious."

Aira groaned, rubbing her face. "Shit. Mom's gonna kill me…"

"You probably just need water," Kira said, standing up. "And sleep."

Aira muttered something under her breath before trudging back to her room. Once she was gone, Roxy let out a breath of relief and flopped back onto the floor.

"That was too close."

"Yeah…" Kira's gaze shifted to the forest again. He got the feeling of someone watching him. "We need to figure out what to do next."

Roxy stretched. "After a few more hours of sleep, yeah."

Kira agreed. They were both exhausted.

His body ached from all the stress of the previous night. As he rubbed his eyes, he noticed something,it's already afternoon. "Damn... " Then he heard something odd,the sound of vehicles. A lot of them.

He stumbled out of bed and pulled back his curtain. His heart nearly stopped.

A convoy of sleek, white vans with Ω symbols on them was parked outside his house. Scientists and personnel in lab coats moved around, talking to each other in hushed voices.

Omega Lab.

Kira felt something in his gut tighten.

"Whoa…" Roxy's voice came from beside him as she peered out the window. "No way… Omega Lab? Here?! This is insane!" She sounded excited, but Kira's stomach twisted into knots.

Something wasn't right.

Za had spent the time in the shed, but when she woke up and heard the strange sounds outside, her survival instincts kicked in. This was wrong. She didn't know who these people were, but she felt the danger.

Without hesitation, she slipped out of the shed and sneaked back into the house. Moving quickly and quietly, she climbed the stairs and slipped into Kira's bedroom, hiding under his bed. She barely made a sound.

She didn't know what was happening, but she knew one thing, she couldn't be found.

As Kira and Roxy watched from the window, a large truck rolled up behind the vans. The doors slid open, and a group of scientists stepped out. But one figure stood out among them.

A tall man dressed in a sleek black coat stepped onto the pavement. His presence alone made the air feel heavier. A dark red gas mask covered his face, hiding his features except for his piercing, calculating eyes.

Dr. Nacht.

Roxy didn't seem to notice the eerie atmosphere. Instead, she was starstruck.

"Is that Dr. Nacht?" she whispered in awe. "No way! The head of Omega Lab himself?! He never comes to field operations! This is huge!"

Kira's eyes remained fixed on the man, but his gut instinct screamed at him to stay away.

Inside the large truck, faint sounds of something… struggling… could be heard. The scientists working nearby tried to ignore it.

A terrified alien was restrained inside the truck, barely alive. Its body was covered in wounds, and it let out weak, pained noises.

One scientist hesitated before speaking.

"Dr. Nacht, sir… is this necessary?"

Nacht tilted his head slightly, still watching the operation outside. Then he answered smoothly, "A little peaceful song while waiting. Don't you think so?"

The scientist said nothing. The alien let out one final, choked cry before silence fell.

Nacht stepped out of the truck.

At that moment, another car pulled up. A woman stepped out tall, sharp eyed, and clearly respected by the Omega Lab scientists.

Hana Isayama.

Kira's mother.

Several scientists greeted her with a level of respect that made Roxy blink in surprise. They even called her Miss Isayama.

Kira's jaw tightened. "What the hell?"

His mother walked up to Nacht, her face unreadable. They exchanged a brief conversation, polite, almost professional. If you didn't know better, you'd think they were just former coworkers.

Then Kira stepped outside.

Silence.

Nacht's eyes slowly turned toward him.

For a brief moment, Kira felt like the world around him disappeared. That gaze… It wasn't just looking at him. It was measuring him.

Like a hunter examining a prey.

A chill ran down Kira's spine.

Then, as if on instinct, something deep inside him stirred.

A strange sensation, one he couldn't explain, made his chest feel tight. His breath came out in visible condensation, like it was a freezing winter day, even though it was warm outside. And his eyes… Slowly changed colour. They are red

Nacht's eyes narrowed slightly, as if amused.

"Interesting…" he murmured.

Kira clenched his fists. He didn't know what was happening to him, but one thing was clear this wasn't just some routine investigation. Omega Lab was here for a reason.

And they weren't leaving empty-handed.

Eventually, the Omega Lab team finished their search, but they found nothing.

Ship? Missing.

The alien? Nowhere to be found.

A scientist approached Nacht hesitantly. "Sir… we found no traces of an unidentified life form. The ship seems to be… gone."

Nacht didn't react. He simply listened as the scientist nervously delivered the bad news.

"Such fools… Just a simple task… Never mind."

Then, without a word, Nacht turned and stepped back into his truck.

A few minutes later, the entire convoy began to pack up and leave.

Kira let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding.

For now, they were safe.

As the last van disappeared down the road, Kira turned back toward his house.

The night had been long, filled with chaos, secrets, and the overwhelming realization that Kira's life had just gotten a lot more complicated. After hiding Za in the shed, lying to Aira, and dealing with the weird feeling of being watched and now this Omega. Kira was exhausted.

But then,,,

His mother was standing there, arms crossed, eyes sharp.

She looked at him for a long moment.

Then she said, "So… care to explain?"
