Marcel's instincts screamed at him to get out of the apartment, to get as far away from the strange occurrences as possible. But his legs felt heavy, as if rooted to the spot.
The growling noise grew louder, vibrating through the air. Marcel's teeth rattled, and his vision blurred. He stumbled, catching himself on the kitchen counter.
Suddenly, the lights flickered once more and then died, plunging the apartment into darkness. Marcel was trapped in a void of blackness, the only sound the ominous rumble.
He fumbled through the darkness, desperate to find a way out. His hands brushed against the wall, searching for the door. As he moved, the rumbling grew louder, and the air seemed to thicken, making it hard to breathe.
Just when Marcel thought he couldn't take it anymore, the darkness was pierced by a blinding flash of light. He shielded his eyes, stumbling backward.
As the light faded, Marcel found himself standing in the middle of a transformed apartment. The walls, once a dull gray, now pulsed with a vibrant, electric blue. The air was crisp and clean, with a hint of ozone.
Marcel's mind reeled as he stumbled through the apartment, taking in the changes. The furniture seemed to have shifted, rearranged itself. The windows, once mere panes of glass, now shimmered with an otherworldly energy.
As he approached the window, Marcel saw that the world outside had changed just as dramatically. The sky was a deep, burning crimson, and the buildings seemed to twist and writhe like living things.
Marcel's stomach lurched as he realized that he was not alone. Figures moved through the streets, their bodies distorted, as if they were being reshaped by some unseen force.
A cold dread crept up Marcel's spine. What was happening to the world? And what was happening to him?
As he stood there, frozen in terror, a voice whispered in his ear. "The world has changed, Marcel. And you must change with it."
Marcel spun around, but there was no one there. The voice seemed to come from within himself.
He took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was to come. He knew that he had to adapt, to survive in this new world.
But as he turned to face the unknown, Marcel realized that he was not the same person he had been just hours before. Something within him had shifted, awakened.
And he knew that nothing would ever be the same again.
