Celeste stood in the aftermath of her encounter with Kaelen. Their words lingered in her mind
The gods are not what they claim to be.
Aether flickered around her hands as she took a deep breath. If there was a truth hidden, she would find it—no matter the cost.
she sprinted toward the outskirts of the ruined district, where the resistance had hidden themselves among the shadows.
The Resistance's Hideout
The underground chambers were dimly lit, the air thick with tension. Maps, stolen scrolls, and ancient tomes littered the tables where resistance members whispered among themselves. As Celeste entered, all eyes turned to her.
She barely had time to process their reactions before a familiar voice cut through the silence.
"You're alive."
She turned to see Dain .
"Yeah," she exhaled, running a hand through her hair. "But I ran into someone… and they didn't try to kill me."
Dain expression darkened.
Celeste sat down at the nearest table, her mind still racing. "His name was Kaelen.he told me something."
She recounted Kaelen's words—the implication that the gods weren't what they seemed, the idea that her Aether was something ancient, something beyond their control.
The room was silent when she finished.
A voice spoke from the far end of the room. "If what you're saying is true… then the Pantheon's greatest fear isn't you."
Celeste turned toward the speaker—a woman, draped in worn robes
"They fear what you might uncover," the woman continued.
Dain let out a slow breath. "Are you suggesting we dig into forbidden knowledge?"
The woman nodded. "There are whispers of a place hidden from the gods. If we find it, we might uncover the truth Kaelen hinted at."
Celeste's pulse quickened.
The woman hesitated, then spoke a name Celeste had only heard in legend.
"The Labyrinth of Nyx."
"You can't be serious." Dain Said
Celeste, however, felt something else entirely—an unshakable certainty.
Kaelen's words. The Pantheon's fear. The whispers of something older than the gods.
It all led to one place.
"Ok Then that's where we're going."
