Chapter 3 - VENICE: PART THREE

The blank paper mystery remained between me and the girls and at some point we had wanted to drop it and assume it was just somewhat of a sign from above about something to happen? The theories overall were wild. For a week the paper conspiracy changed its location from my house to my car, to my locker, to the inside of my laptop bag. It was getting on my last nerve.

"Your bag?" Jenna asked and I showed it to her and said she had an idea that might sound weird. "This might sound crazy but my brother works for a gaming company. And animation settings use alot of paper to get original sketches, maybe we can get a lead.

"Jenna the plan makes sense. But how would you even start describing to him how they've been appearing?" I was whining but that was because I had hoped this case between us would drop in a week max.

"We have mocks when?!" I asked after the teacher got out and Felicity laughed at my scared expression.

"It's in four days. Why? Have you not been studying at all?" No not even once since the term started. I rely more on my long term memory than information I could get studying last minute. I mean I did pay attention in class.

"I'll kill it, I can figure something out baby. I always do."

"Venice, you have a date with Jace tonight, remember? You guys planned it like weeks ago."

Fuck. Fuck my life. I couldn't cancel it, I had bought the tickets with my own money. I silently clenched my fists and took my phone out to text him about the whole party thing, I saw my dad's message. It started with a photo....more papers and his study trashed around. What the hell? I showed Felicity the picture and she looked back at me. It was weird cause I have been in school this whole time.

His message scared me more.

"The police are here, I want you home immediately school is out."

I was restless the whole time during fifth and sixth period. I couldn't understand what was going on. I was clearly either in my room or school. Maybe if I got a part time job they'd believe it for real. Bad idea, i'd get fired after the first day. I have no patience for people and I have been told about my pathetic temper.

I drove like a maniac, mom had changed their location to the station. I don't know why the thought of my own parents turning me in, flooded my mind and my anxiety spiked. Maybe mom had convinced dad that I had done something. The station had a lot of people that had been brought in and I spotted my parents, with troubled expressions. Those expressions didn't move me anymore. They had that bored look on their faces every time I had tried to explain myself.

"Is this your daughter?" The female officer beside them asked and they said yes. I looked between her and my parents confused.

"There was footage that we got from my study, and we found that it was indeed not our daughter but a boy, in a white hoodie," They said to the officer. This was new information for me, and I had no idea who they were talking about.

"We have reason to believe that maybe one of your friends may be terrorising your parents. And I hear there have been papers left around your house. We wanted to know if there are any of your friends that have bad blood with your parents? Maybe a small misunderstanding?"

"No, I have known all my friends for years. My parent's lives were never a concern for us. I think they're exaggerating the whole case, officer."

"Of course you'd think we are exaggerating, someone was in our home Venice." I sighed and briefly shut my eyes and turned to the officer.

"I can get my friends for you for questioning officer, may I be excused?" I asked and didn't even wait for her to respond, I went to the exit and thanked the Lord for fresh air, that was suffocating. I was going to tell them something I might regret even uttering out loud.

Someone bumped into me and my head shot up and I was going to lose it.

"Hey, what the hell man?" I asked and the guy didn't even stop and mumbled a sorry before leaving. Normally, I would prolong my anger but today was not the day. I got home much later after doing some shopping for my stationary and makeup. The prices were going to be the end of me.

I called Felicity just for the sake as I was going home.

"Felicity hey."

"My brother gave me a theory to work with, and let's just say, it's the most unexpected thing ever."
