Chapter 48 - Not Even a Moment to Mourn Geto Suguru’s Death

'Rika… who is that?'

The battle's clamor roused Okkotsu Yuta from the rubble. With Rika's help, he clutched his wounds and stood, eyes widening at the fierce fight unfolding.

'Am I seeing things?' Yuta rubbed his eyes. A stranger his age was overpowering Geto Suguru, pushing him to the brink. Their movements blurred from ground to sky, clashing like thunder.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Tokyo Jujuts High's buildings crumbled, dust swirling into yellowish tornadoes. Amid it, Yuto's black blade, wreathed in black-red lightning, sent Yun flying. Geto blocked with his palm, but was hurled back, blood spraying, his hand deeply wounded.

"I need to help," Yuta muttered, getting out of the initial shock. Despite the boy's strength, he seemed unfamiliar with curse techniques. But Rika tugged his sleeve, pointing to the unconscious Zenin Maki, Inumaki Toge, and Panda.

"You're right, Rika," Yuta said, calming. "We need to get them to safety first. I'll call Sensei."

"Damn it!" Geto leaped across towers, his face grim. His right hand bled profusely from Yuto's blade, the pain searing. He hadn't been this injured in years, recalling a near-fatal cross slash from another foe with similar physical might.

"I won't fail again!" he sneered, bandaging his hand with torn robes.

"Curse Manipulation Technique!"

Boom!

Countless twisted curses surged toward Yuto. "Numbers game?" Yuto snorted, switching to magic. His muscles trembled, wind parting around him, his red dragon heart pounding like war drums.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Geto frowned, sensing something brewing.

"Nine Lives!"

A massive axe-sword materialized. Unlike typical Noble Phantasms, [Nine Lives] was Hercules' nine-strike technique—a martial pinnacle.

Boom!

Nine axe lights tore through the curse horde, twisting the sky into a chaotic vortex.

"Impossible!" Geto stared as nearly a thousand curses vanished instantly. 'This guy's a monster!'

[You killed a first-grade curse… Reward: 3 Saint Quartz.]

Yuto smiled, eyeing Geto like treasure..

"Got any more? Release them all," Yuto said, advancing.

'Don't think this makes me surrender,' Geto snapped. "Manifestation: Tamamo-no-Mae!"

A kimono-clad curse with flowing hair rushed forth—his trump card.

Yuto hurled the axe-sword. The special-grade Tamamo-no-Mae couldn't withstand Nine Lives' explosion, shattering into fragments.

Boom!

A hundred-meter vacuum formed, energy distorting light. Geto rode a pelican curse skyward, resolving to use his final move.

"Maximum: Uzumaki!"

Fusing 4,461 curses, this ultra-dense attack rivaled a city-level Noble Phantasm. "Why force me? For the 'greater good,' to eliminate those monkeys—what's wrong with that?!" Geto roared, pointing skyward as a swirling black hole formed.

"If you're the 'greater good,' I'm 'truth.' You're just in my way," Yuto replied, rejecting Geto's extremism. Words were useless, he'd end it with a Noble Phantasm.

"Sword in the Tree."

A gnarled, divine sword appeared. [Noble Phantasm Release: Gram, the Sword of Victory!]"

Golden light erupted, clashing with the curse black hole.

Boom!

Shockwaves flattened everything, surging outward for miles. "That's Tokyo Jujutsu High?" Gojo Satoru, airborne, watched gravely. "Yuta said, a stranger's fighting Geto. One of them will die." He rushed forward.

Geto leaned against a ruined wall, smiling helplessly. "Hah… I still lost." Blood gushed from countless wounds—he was beyond saving.

"Last words?" Yuto asked, descending.

"None," Geto said, his smile uglier than tears. His obsessions faded in death's shadow. 'But I, Geto Suguru, have no regrets. I was never wrong.'

His smile stiffened. The 27-year-old curse master, killer of thousands, died by Yuto's hand.

"Next, burn his body to prevent possession," Yuto said, igniting spiritron flames.

"Wait," a hoarse voice called. Gojo Satoru landed, eyes on his fallen friend. "Geto…"

Sorrow and relief mixed–his evildoing friend was gone, yet this boy's strength stunned him. "Gojo Satoru?" Yuto observed the strongest, his Six Eyes radiating immense curse power.

"Your name?" Gojo asked, suppressing emotion.

"Yuto."

"Ah, you," Gojo nodded.

"You know me?"

"You've slain two special-grades—hard not to," Gojo smiled, not revealing his source. "Thank you, but… can I have his body? Don't cremate it. He did wrong, but he doesn't deserve a grave."

"No," Yuto said firmly. "He must be ashes."

Gojo's anger flared. "Why? He's dead, my friend! He's paid with his life. Why not let me bury him?!"

"If I said a curse master wants his body to possess it, would you believe me?" Yuto frowned, avoiding specifics. But this excuse didn't sway Gojo.
