Ruffle...Ruffle...Ruffle...!
In front of him is a silver mirror that reflects his reflection. A figure with red hair, and crimson eyes stares at him. The figure shown in the reflection is a person named Cliff Carmesi. A teenager who was born into the Carmesi Family.
The personality is tough to emulate due to the character profile not describing the personality, but the actions made by the Original Cliff from the backstory will be the reference for the personality he'll be emulating.
Na– Cliff sighed, breathing deeply as he started wearing his usual clothes, a white button-up shirt and black pants.
He styles his hair before adjusting his pants.
"As part of a royal family, it's a must to be as stylish as possible." He looks back at the mirror and smiles.
Now that I've gotten the looks perfectly. It is time to go outside~
Before leaving the room, he produced a small pouch of leather containing copper coins and gold coins out of his inventory. He stares at it before looking away painfully.
"20 Gold for violating one of the rules… man…" He sighs deeply.
After contemplating, he opened the door and went outside of his room. He was greeted with a long, narrow hallway filled with open windows that welcomed the rays of sunlight to the interior.
Right now, he is staying at an inn.
After paying the receptionist with the gold, he was recommended to stay at one of the inns for better accommodation. A single night costs around 2-3 coppers, which isn't bad. The bed was a bit too hard for my liking but that's just preference.
He walks through the hallway, checking how many coins he has left in his pouch by pouring it onto his palm.
"30 Gold coins and 47 Copper coins. Enough to last me a few days in the city… If I sell the items that I got from that Rodent King, I'd increase my wealth."
He lifts his chest and speeds up his walk, finally reaching the stairs and stepping down each step.
"Time to sell some items!"
...…..
[ Eight, the city that surrounds the Infinite Dungeon. ]
After a few minutes, he arrived at the adventurer's guild shop where you can buy and sell items. After waiting in line, he reaches the counter and faces the shop's receptionist.
"How may I help you~?" A soft gentle voice embraces the environment.
Cliff's guard went down, including the people in the line before him.
"I– I want to sell some items I got from the dungeon, please."
"Will do~ just present the items you want to sell on the counter, dear customer~"
He gulps, he thought to himself.
'Wow, this woman is soft-spoken. I'm gonna fall in love so quickly! No! I must act! I mustn't be easily persuaded!'
Then, he brought a sack onto the counter and opened it. There was nothing inside of the sack, it was just a facade to hide the existence of his pocket dimension called 'Inventory'.
Cliff then pulls out the loot that he collected from the monsters he killed previously in the dungeon.
"Oh~? You hunted a lot, mister!"
It was quite a lot of items for a rookie to have, but not unusual. A variety of items were looted from different monsters. A club, a dirty loincloth, and 3x Broken Cores.
"That'll be 20 copper coi–"
"Oh, I'm not done yet-"
Suddenly, the red-haired male pulls out a large eye out of the sack. Everyone before him, including the receptionist, took a step back out from shock.
[ Rodent King's Eye ]
"Woah! Brother, where'd you find this?!"
"I've never seen such a thing, it looks like it came from a Dire Rat but it's larger!"
"Is there such a thing?"
The Guild became lively, filled with conversation and vitality about the man and the strange loot he brought over the guild's shop.
"W-w-wait for a few seconds! I must use an artifact to gauge its authenticity and rarity~!"
She said before bending forward, it seemed that she was trying to reach for something below her. An artifact she says? Could it be?
"Found it~! Oookay, let's seee~"
She lifts her hand upward, revealing a monocle that exudes magical aura. That artifact is one of the unique artifacts found in the game, a monocle that reveals the true identity of an unknown-type item. It's called a "Truth-Glass", pretty straightforward with the name.
Cliff leaned his body towards the counter, putting his arm on the table.
"So? How is it???"
Cliff is filled with curiosity just like everyone else. It came from a monster that didn't exist in the game yet it existed in this reality. Can you imagine what the gamer in him is feeling like? Yeah, excited.
Cliff clenches his fist, showing obvious signs of nervousness and tension.
"I've determined it's worth~ This item is at least 15 gold coins worth! Congratulations on finding such a huge haul!"
His eyes widened, and he jumped out of excitement. As well as the others before him, the fact that he looted an item that is worth 15 gold is praiseworthy, especially for a rookie adventurer.
"Oh-Um… I'd like to sell it!"
The receptionist smiles, she then carries the eye with a glove and puts it in the storage room before coming back with a pouch that contains gold coins.
"Here you go~! Thank you for selling it here, come back again!" Cliff receives the gold and melts from her vibe.
Her warm smile envelopes the whole room like a mother giving a warm hug to her children. Before the others knew it, the rookie adventurer took this opportunity to get out of the guild before they could even ask him a few questions.
"HUFF!! HA…!" He stops at a place that has an anvil sign.
First, he catches his breath after running away so quickly. He got reckless by suddenly using his energy when he hadn't recovered a lot yet from the fight he had with the Rodent King.
After resting for a few seconds, he straightens his posture before facing the building in front of him. A forgery, or a blacksmith shop. Cliff pushes the door open. Upon entering, the air felt hot.
In front of him is an old man with a silver beard smashing a hot blade with a hammer. Every time the hammer hits the blade, upon impact it releases sparks that vanish in a millisecond. A true blacksmith was working in front of him, he looked to the side and found a woman bored out of her mind, staring at nothingness.
Cliff walks towards her and initiates a conversation.
"Hello there, I would like you to make my armor and a brand new weapon using these items…"
He silently talks to her so that he won't bother the man working in the background. He places the [ Rodent King's Hide ] and the [ Rodent King's Claw ] at the table.
"Oh– These are sum'thin else, lad! How'd you get this quality out of a Dire Rat?"
"W-well…"
"Y'know, what, you must've gotten lucky! Allow me to make you the armor while I tell my dad to work on your weapon. Based on your request…"
She puts her fingers below her chin and looks upwards, clearly thinking and calculating inside of her head.
"Come back here tomorrow at noon! By then, we'd be finished making your gear! For now, pay us 5 gold coins, I shall make a masterpiece out of your items!"
Cliff smiles, he thought to himself.
'She's easy to get along with. Though she's pretty talkative, not annoying though!'
He reaches into his pouch, takes 5 gold coins and gives it to the lady craftsman who is currently holding the hide and the claw of the Rodent King. Cliff's pretty excited about the outcome of the request he made for those materials.
...….
After giving her the payment, Cliff went outside to walk. With his hand under his chin, he started listing off the things he did.
"Adventurer's Guild Shop? Check. Blacksmith Shop? Checked. Alchemy shop? Not checked. Time to stock up on potions for the journey! Somehow, shopping is pretty fun in real life! In the game, it's usually monotonous…"
Staring at the screen back and forth and changing stores in the game was pretty frustrating. Infinite Dungeon wasn't perfect, it had issues. For example, long ass loading screens. That resulted in many awkward moments during the stream, even to the point that I cooked and ate ramen within 10 minutes and it was still loading!
Despite being in the same game that had so many loading screens, the game was still beautiful…
After walking for a few minutes, Cliff suddenly stopped. In front of him is a weirdly structured building made out of stone, at the top of the stone building is a chimney releasing smoke. Not just any kind of smoke, a colored smoke. Beside the door is a sign, with crudely written words carved upon it.
"Kein's Alchemy Store"
Kein? Wait... Isn't that the one NPC with bright cyan hair and rugged clothes? Damn, am I in the shady part of the city now? I shouldn't be here! With my luck, anything can happen. Igh…! Alright, I shall risk my luck with this shop…
I would've preferred if it was the official one and not the shady one, they only sell overpriced potions.
He clenched his teeth before finally opening the door of Kein's Alchemy Shop. A person holding a glass flask on a table counter can be seen, with a few potions being brewed on the side.
"A-ah! Welcome to my shop! How can I help you?" A bright cyan-haired man greets the individual who just came in by bowing, before finally facing them with an awkward smile plastered on their face.
