Chapter 10 - triakósia 2

Ruby Xiao Long was a bit bummed today. She had been ripped from the support lab to participate in some dumb hero course exercise that she wanted to skip. But her twin sister, Yang Xiao Long, dragged her here, kicking and screaming, and now she had to participate. To be completely honest, the two of them had almost missed the bus because Ruby decided she wanted to skip class today. But her sister was having none of it; Yang, using her immense physical strength, dragged Ruby onto the bus and then went to sit with her friends, leaving the antisocial Ruby to sit and soak in the front of the bus next to the teacher of class 3A. Ruby's quirk was short-range teleportation; every time she teleported, she would leave behind a cloud of rose petals. As a child, she gave her quirk the name "Petal Pop." Because of this, she decided her hero name would be Ruby Rose.

After a bit of travel, Ruby was the first person off the bus. She was the first to see this new training facility, but it didn't look like a training facility. It looked like a huge mountain with trees and plants distributed around to make it look as real as possible. In the center of this huge mountain was a decent-sized ravine. On the other side of this ravine was to be an ancient military camp. Using her quirk, Ruby approached one of the plants and quickly realized that they had been planted here very recently.

"Hey, Roobs! What are you looking at?" Yang asked as her two friends followed her over to check on her. Let's quickly go over their descriptions and their quirks. Yang's quirk is called kinetic storage; by moving or taking damage, Yang can absorb kinetic energy and store it in her body to enhance her physical strength. Her quirk is an exact copy of their father's. Yang, the majority of the time, is the blonde-haired girl who's not super smart but is super active. Because of her quirk, she's inherited a love for fighting.

The white-haired girl behind her is known as Weiss Schnee; she is the current homeroom leader of class 3B. Her quirk is called Glyphs; she has the ability to create basically magical spells using a written language only she knows and can read. When activated, most of the spells will burn away extremely fast. Because of this, Weiss was forced to experiment to find materials she could use as ink and found that the cheapest and most cost-effective material is ice. Because of this, she has a special weapon designed by the support course that allows her to write with water and freeze it for her spells.

The last of Yang's friends is Blake Belladonna. She has cat ears that she apparently inherited from her mother, who has a cat mutation quirk. Her quirk is called Clone; she has the ability to create copies of herself that can do everything she can do but will disappear if they take a little bit of damage."

Apparently, she inherited this quirk from her father, who is a very famous hero known as the Uzumaki. She has an interesting habit that Ruby only knew about because Yang told her. Apparently, Blake likes to read porn in public. At first, Ruby just thought she was super studious, but nope! It turns out she's a hardcore pervert.

"Oh, um, well, you see, it looks like all of these plants were planted recently," Ruby said nervously. Weiss huffed in annoyance, "Of course they were; this training field is new. Didn't you read the notice on the board at the front of class today?" Ruby felt embarrassed; she hadn't been paying attention in class since she had been working on a new design for a support gear all day in her head. "Now, let's calm down," Yang said. "We all know how Ruby gets when she's working on a new invention. She probably just thought it wasn't important." Weiss grumbled something under her breath but then left to go rejoin the rest of the students. Yang also began to head back toward the group, with Blake following close behind. Ruby stood there alone for a bit, calculating the pros and cons of ditching the rest of the school day.

Right as she was about to start leaving, she noticed someone standing next to her. It was that little kid who showed up at the support lab. She had never actively interacted with him, but she did find some of his ideas very novel. The weird thing was that his hair was different. In fact, half of his body seemed like it belonged to a completely different person, unlike the green-haired kid she was used to seeing. Half of his body was a completely different shade; his skin was almost coal-colored, half of his head was covered in white hair, and one of his eyes was bright gold. After a while of them staring at each other, both finally spoke at the same time. "You're Miss Ruby, right?" At the same time, Ruby asked, "You're Izuku, correct?" They both stood there in silence before giggling. "Sorry, let's start over. I am Ruby. Your name is Izuku, correct?"

The boy nodded before beginning to ask Ruby a question. "Why are you standing out here by yourself? Were you about to try to ditch? It looked like you were about to start running that way." Ruby felt embarrassed as the boy pointed back towards the school. "No, I was just, uh, warming up, that's all. Ha ha ha!" Before Izuku could respond to her statement, they both heard someone yell at them. "Hey, problem children, come over here and receive instructions on what you're supposed to be doing today." Izuku turned to Ruby, gave her a nod, and began to approach the bus where everyone else was. Ruby let out a huge sigh and followed him.

As everyone filed over to the bus, a big screen popped out from the top of the bus and flipped up so everyone could see what was on it. In the center of the screen was Principal Nezu. But unlike usual, his outfit had changed from a black suit and tie to an ancient kingly robe, with a golden crown sitting atop his head. The whole outfit was shaded in black, giving him a more evil and menacing presence.

"Oh, good! You all are here. I am so happy to see all of our promising students and our most special student, the Midoriya system." Everyone clapped for them. The 40 students began to awkwardly clap as Izuku looked down in embarrassment. "Anyway, today we will be having a fun and challenging challenge for you. It will be divided into two teams. One team will have 30 members, and the other will have 11. Yes, that means you're participating, so put your hand down." Izuku awkwardly put his hand down.

"The objective of the two teams is quite simple. Team one, the team with 30 members, will have to go around the mountain to ambush my heavily fortified ancient base. Team two, the team with 11 people, will have to guard the passageway through the center of the mountain in front of you. There will be an army of robots trying to get through, so don't let any pass. If any robots pass and touch Miss Inko over there, who will be acting as the metaphorical flag in this exercise, then all 41 of you lose. But if you can invade my fortress and touch my throne, then both teams pass! Questions?"

One of the random students raised their hand. "How are we going to divvy up the teams?" Nezu gave them an evil grin. "Well, I'll be drawing it out of this little box. There's just one exception: whoever ends up guarding the passage through the mountain will be on a team with the Midoriya system."

Izuku silently cursed. That team was already going to have a big enough handicap as it was. Adding them to the team could potentially cause friction or dissatisfaction. Emiya had switched with Mordred during the bus ride, but because of his personality, he barely ever talked. However, he did observe everyone around them, trying to figure out who would be the least problematic to be on a team with.

"All right, kids! It's time for me to draw the names of the students who will be on team two! Their names are... drumroll, please!"

And that will be the end of this chapter today. I hope you enjoyed it bye.
