Chapter 9 - triakósia part 1

Ino Yamanaka is a pretty normal Hero course student. Her quirk wasn't super powerful, but it was useful for taking down thugs. Her quirk is called possession; she has the ability to take control of another person's body as long as she creates a square with her hands and looks through it like she's taking a picture with a camera. The biggest drawback is that her body will fall unconscious while she's possessing her opponent/victim.

Today, all 40 Hero students had been ordered to head to the car park to get on a bus to a new UA training ground. Ino was super excited; this new training field had to be something amazing. As she skipped down the school halls, she looked back at her friends from class. Though she never really connected with the majority of her class, she did have a close relationship with two of her classmates. The first one was named Shikamaru Nara. He had a very similar power to her own; he could control his own shadow to restrain enemies and make them emulate his movements. His quirk was given the name Shadow Possession.

The biggest problem she had with this friend was that he was super lazy. Despite all of his high intellect, he never put forth the effort she hoped he would. Her other friend was named Choji Akimichi, and his quirk was called Calorie Control. By eating food, he could store energy in his fat cells and use this energy to increase the size of his limbs as well as his physical capabilities. In this day and age, he had the perfect quirk for hero work, but Choji wasn't super interested in being a hero and was really only there because his parents insisted. Choji's dream was to open a restaurant.

"So, what do you think our training will entail today?" Ino asked, trying to get her friend Shikamaru's analysis of the situation. "Oh, 'entail'? That's a fancy word for you. Was that your word of the day on that calendar I got you for Christmas?" Shikamaru smirked internally as he pretended to ignore his boisterous teammate. Ino crossed her arms and huffed. "I'll have you know the word of the day was 'preposterous,'" she growled, looking at her lazy friend. "Well, I find it preposterous that you even remembered what the word of the day was. I heard you forgot yesterday was Sunday and showed up at school." Ino's face flushed in embarrassment. She had slept in yesterday morning and, while half asleep, mistakenly rushed to school, believing she was late.

"Well, at least I'm not the guy who slept through an entire pop quiz and then filled in the questions randomly!" Ino retorted, shrieking in embarrassment. "Just to remind you, I still aced that pop quiz," Shikamaru stated, walking while staring out the window at the clouds floating through the sky. Choji, who had been eating throughout their entire conversation, finally spoke up. "Hey, Shikamaru, what do you think we're gonna do in Heroic Studies today?" After asking his question, Choji went back to munching on his chips. Shikamaru thought about it for a second before saying, "It probably has something to do with what happened three weeks ago. You know, when the principal's special student destroyed half the school and fought a bunch of heroes." Choji nodded and continued munching on his chips.

"Why didn't you answer the question when I asked?" Ino grumbled, giving Shikamaru a death glare. "You never actually asked me. You just asked our general direction. You could've been talking to literally anyone behind you. Who am I to intrude upon your question?" Ino didn't have a retort to that. She knew Shikamaru was messing with her, but at this point, she realized it would be easier just to move on with her life.

As they approached the parking lot where the bus was supposedly supposed to pick them up, the three students noticed two other people waiting at the bus checkpoint. It was Principal Nezu's personal student and his mother. The first thing Ino noticed was the kid's outfit. From bottom to top, he was wearing faded red boots and dark military pants. His top was a very long red cloak that fluttered a little bit in the wind, but it resembled a poncho because it had no hood. On his back was a very strange-looking backpack with weird compartments in specific areas.

Finally, Ino looked up at his face. He had one dark green eye and one bright green eye. One cheek had four freckles in a diamond pattern, while the other cheek was completely blemishless. Finally, she got to his hair: half of his head was covered in curly green hair, while the other half was covered in spiky blonde hair. This was new; she had never seen Nezu's personal student with this appearance. Of the four forms she'd seen, this looked more like a fusion between two of them at once: the shy green-headed one and the confrontational blonde-headed one.

After a while of waiting, Ino's curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to have her first conversation with Nezu's student. In fact, she couldn't remember any students ever talking to the kid. "Hi, I'm Ino Yamanaka, your Principal Nezu's favorite student, right? Can I ask what your name is?" The kid looked up at her for a second before saying, "I'm Izuku Midoriya, and this is Mordred Pendragon. Don't tell her our names!"

"Why not?" They asked.

"Because we don't know her!"

"How will we ever get to know her if we don't introduce ourselves?"

"Because we're better than these chumps."

As the two alters began to argue, Inko Midoriya decided to explain to Ino and her two eavesdropping friends. "Hi, I'm Inko. Izuku has a condition known as D.I.D., and it seems to have attuned to his quirk. Recently, the personalities have discovered that they can have more than one person sitting in the metaphorical driver's seat, but it can cause some friction."

Ino understood; her father was a psychiatrist, so she had a basic knowledge of how people's mental disorders can interfere with or alter a person's quirk.

Three minutes later, the two alters calmed down and began to have a conversation with Ino. "So, you're telling me that when two of you are controlling your body, you can use both personalities' quirks at the same time? Wow, that's amazing," Ino said as she discussed quirks with the Midoriya system.

"Yeah, except for me. Nobody can use their quirks as long as I'm upfront," Izuku said, sighing dejectedly.

"Hey, don't beat yourself up! Without you, the rest of us wouldn't exist, so I guess that makes you super cool or something," Mordred said in the most tsundere way Ino had ever heard.

Choji handed the Midoriya system a chip from his chip bag, then smiled and went back to munching. Izuku looked up at him and shyly thanked him. Shikamaru had been cloud-watching for the entire conversation between Ino and Izuku, but something told Mordred he was listening the whole time.

Right as Mordred was about to rudely confront the lazy lad, she noticed the bus pulling up to the checkpoint. As it came to a stop slowly, the students began filing in and taking their seats. Not wanting to be the last one on the bus, Mordred got in line in a hurry. Slowly, everyone began to file into the bus, and eventually, Mordred and Izuku could see who was driving. It was Eraser Head. He nodded at them as they followed the line, slowly taking their seats.

The alters ended up sitting between Ino and a person they didn't know. He was covered from head to toe in his hero costume, and based on how his costume was made, it was pretty clear he was going into underground hero work. Similar to Eraser Head, his hero suit could almost pass for civilian clothes. But the most defining feature of his entire outfit was the circular sunglasses that rested on his mask-covered nose. With the rest of his body completely covered, it was very hard to tell what he looked like.

Before Mordred could stop him, Izuku began to introduce himself to the person sitting next to them. After a few seconds of silence, the concealed hero student responded, "Nice to meet you, my name is Shino Aburame." Then he fell silent again.

Izuku looked for his mother. She was at the front of the bus. He gave her a thumbs up to show that he was okay, and she responded in kind. Then, Izuku and Mordred looked out the window and watched the UA campus zoom by.

OK, so that's the end of the chapter. So how was my more contained chapter? Did I do a good job? Anyway, I did say it in the comments the next personality was a servant that belonged to the Rider class I changed my mind. I decided this arc would be better if I used a different historical figure/heroic spirit. But all the set up still works so that worked out nicely. I will be saving that rider class servant for I Island so be happy that he's not completely gone. I guess I'm happy about that. Anyway, bye.
