Chapter 2 - First Disciple, Trash?

Elysum is in turmoil.

The gods who used to fight directly are now busy forming clans and recruiting disciples from the mortal world. The selection of disciples is a crucial moment—choosing talented individuals means a greater chance of winning the game.

In various corners of Elysum, the gods have opened the Gates of Selection, connecting their world with the realms of humans and other races. From legendary warriors, to gifted wizards, to mystical creatures, all are vying to become disciples of the powerful gods.

Of course, among them, there were some gods who didn't bother to choose.

The God of War immediately got a warrior with a divine sword.

The Goddess of Time recruited a talented young man who could read the future.

The God of Darkness found an assassin with extraordinary shadow power.

Meanwhile…

In the rickety pavilion of the God Lazu, the atmosphere was very different.

The Selection Gate opened before him, but there was no queue of talented disciples. In fact, there was no one at all.

Lazu, who was still sitting leisurely in his chair, yawned. "Well, I thought so."

Who would want to join the god who was known to be the weakest and laziest in Elysum?

However, just as he was about to close the Selection Gate, suddenly…

A small shadow appeared from within the gate.

The figure took hesitant steps. He had no magnificent armor, no sparkling magic robe, even his aura felt so ordinary.

A thin boy, messy hair, with torn clothes and a look full of doubt.

[Name: Kain]

[Race: Human]

[Profession: None]

[Strength: Undetected]

Lazu observed the information that appeared in front of him. Even the system was lazy to give him further description.

"…Eh?"

The boy lowered his head, his voice weak. "I-I… I want to be your disciple, Lord Lazu."

There was silence.

Lazu rubbed his eyes, making sure that he had not seen things wrongly. The only disciple that came to him was a weak human child with no talent whatsoever?

While other gods were getting talented disciples with extraordinary powers, Lazu was getting a useless brat who didn't even have a profession!

For a moment, he wanted to close the gate and pretend not to see anything. However, something on the boy's face made him think twice.

Those eyes.

They looked weak, but they didn't give up.

Lazu let out a long sigh. "…Alright, I accept you."

Instantly, golden light flowed from Lazu's body to Kain, signifying that the disciple-god bond had been formed.

That was when a new notification appeared before Lazu.

[The First Disciple of God Lazu has been selected!]

[Because the disciple's condition is too low, the system will randomly grant one 'hidden ability'.]

Lazu stared at the writing. "Oh?"

Hidden ability?

Suddenly, golden light enveloped Kain's body. Instantly, his eyes widened.

Something unusual was happening.

And unknowingly, Lazu had just made a decision that would shake the entire Elysum.
