Chapter 3 - The Hidden Ability That Changes Everything

Golden light enveloped Kain's body.

Lazu stared at him lazily, not expecting much. The system did say that his first disciple would gain a "hidden ability," but it was most likely just a fun effect—something that wouldn't really be useful in this game.

But then…

DING!

A notification appeared before Lazu.

[Disciple Kain has gained a hidden ability: "Devour"]

[Description: This ability allows the user to absorb and master the power of defeated enemies.]

Lazu blinked. "Huh?"

He looked at Kain, who was still standing in the light, looking confused.

The ability to absorb power from enemies?

This wasn't just any talent. If used properly, it could be one of the most powerful abilities in the game.

However, there was one problem.

Kain was still an ordinary human child who couldn't even fight.

Without his initial ability, he had no way to defeat the enemy and activate 'Devour'.

Lazu took a deep breath. "So… my first disciple has extraordinary talent, but no basic ability to utilize it?"

Kain raised his face. "Lord Lazu… What does this mean?"

Lazu looked at him with a lazy expression. "It means you have great potential. The problem is, you are also very weak."

Kain clenched his fists. "Then… teach me!"

Lazu fell silent.

As the laziest god, he actually never intended to teach anyone. But seeing this boy's enthusiasm… for some reason, he didn't want to reject him outright.

Lazu scratched his head. "Alright. But I won't teach you how to fight like the other gods."

Kain frowned. "Then… how?"

A faint smile appeared on Lazu's face. A smile full of cunning plans.

"In this world, strength isn't the only way to win." Lazu stood up, stretching his body that hadn't moved for a long time. "From now on, I'll teach you how to play with your brain, not your brawn."

Kain swallowed. For the first time, he felt something different about this god.

Perhaps, this god who was considered the weakest… wasn't a god to be underestimated.

And perhaps, under his guidance, Kain would become the most dangerous disciple in Elysum.
