Chapter 15 - 15. Wait… Sisters Don’t Come with a Training Manual?!

Here's a version with a more humorous touch while keeping the story engaging and natural:

---

Nine Months Later

On this day, the Shi household welcomed a new member into their family.

Inside the room, Hu Rong held a newborn baby wrapped in clean white cloth, her eyes filled with motherly love.

Beside her, Shi Chen stood with a silly grin, looking like a man who had just discovered a hidden treasure in his backyard. He was clearly happy—maybe a little too happy.

A little further away, Shi Hao stood, staring at the baby with wide eyes. His small hands hesitated mid-air as if he were handling a fragile artifact.

Why?

Because his newborn sibling was a girl.

Yes, a girl.

Shi Hao had already prepared himself for the arrival of a sibling—boy or girl, it didn't matter.

It's just that... well, he preferred a younger brother a little more.

Not that a sister was a complete surprise. He was responsible and forward-thinking, so he had already bought clothes for both possibilities.

Still, when the truth was confirmed, he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.

"A younger brother would've been so much easier..."

With a younger brother, things were simple—discipline with a stick, training, life lessons—easy! But with a younger sister?

"I can't use a stick on her, right? Right?!"

His plans for sibling training would need serious adjustments.

And, to make matters worse, if she turned out to be beautiful in the future, he would have to defend her from annoying suitors, act as her bodyguard, and find her a good husband.

Too many responsibilities. Too much trouble.

Yet, despite all his internal complaints, when he looked at the tiny girl sleeping peacefully in his mother's arms, a sense of warmth filled his heart.

"Fine… younger brother or younger sister, it's all the same. Family is family."

With that thought, he sighed heavily, as if he had just taken on the burden of the world.

His father noticed this and chuckled, patting Shi Hao on the back. "What's with that face? You look like an old man who's just lost a fortune!"

Shi Hao simply shook his head. "Father, you don't understand… I just realized how hard my life is going to be from now on."

His mother rolled her eyes. "Stop acting like you're carrying the weight of the heavens, Hao'er. Now, let's pick a name."

After much discussion, they decided on Shi Xin Ci, meaning delightful and compassionate.

"Great name," Shi Hao thought. "But if she ever turns out to be a little demon, I'm going to request a name change."

Time Passed

Days turned into weeks, and Shi Hao's routine remained mostly the same—except now, he had a new task: babysitting duty.

His mother had stopped working, so she took care of most of Shi Xin Ci's needs. But every now and then, she'd hand the baby over to Shi Hao.

The first time this happened, he held her like she was a bomb with an unstable fuse.

"Mother… are you sure this is safe?" he asked hesitantly.

Hu Rong sighed. "She's your sister, not a wild beast. Just hold her gently!"

Shi Hao wasn't convinced. But surprisingly, Little Xin Ci didn't cry in his arms. She just stared at him with big, round eyes, as if trying to judge his worth.

"Great… now I have a tiny judge following me around."

Two months later, Xin Ci was big enough to wear the clothes and shoes Shi Hao had bought for her. He was especially proud of this achievement.

"See? My sister wears the dress I bought! I am an excellent older brother!"

Meanwhile, his time with Aunt Hua gradually decreased.

Not because he wanted it to—but because she got pregnant.

With that, she moved out to live with her lover.

Shi Hao was reluctant to see her go, but he understood. She needed care and support.

As he watched her leave, a bizarre thought crossed his mind.

"If I had grown up earlier… I would have put a green hat on that man. Alas, what a pity..."

Of course, he meant well.

Aunt Hua's lover was bald. Walking under the sun like that? Not good for the head. Shi Hao just wanted to buy him a green hat for protection.

And why green?

Because Aunt Hua had once mentioned that her lover's favorite color was green.

Yes. Shi Hao was a thoughtful and caring person. No hidden meanings at all.

A Year Later

It had now been a full year since Shi Xin Ci was born.

One peaceful night, outside the Shi family courtyard, Shi Hao sat on a chair, holding a tiny figure in his arms.

At eight years old, Shi Hao had grown to 150 cm. Not too bad, but since he lacked soul power, his growth was slower compared to other children in the Douluo Continent.

Still, his appearance had improved.

He wasn't exactly handsome, but thanks to practicing "mewing" and random nose-pulling techniques he had seen on social media back on Earth, he had upgraded his looks.

Now, he could at least barely qualify as a "handsome boy."

Score? 80 out of 100.

His sister, on the other hand?

Even at one year old, it was obvious that she was going to be a beauty. If rated, she would easily reach 90+ points in the future.

"Unfair."

Dressed in a blue-pink frock, Xin Ci snuggled against Shi Hao's chest, her tiny hands gripping his clothes.

She listened to the soothing melody he played on his flute, eyes fluttering shut as she drifted into sleep.

Under the moonlight, the siblings—one tall, one small—looked like the perfect painting of a peaceful family moment.

Shi Hao stopped playing, gazing at the night sky. A sigh escaped his lips.

"What am I even thinking about?"

Before he could contemplate further, his parents arrived home.

"Father, Mother," he greeted them with a nod before returning his gaze to the moon.

A sudden thought crossed his mind.

"Am I being reckless?"

But there was no answer.

With a shrug, he picked up his sleeping sister and walked inside.

Dinner time.

The Next Day

"Hao'er, you have a performance tonight. Are you prepared?" Hu Rong asked.

"I am, Mother," Shi Hao replied coolly.

For the past two months, he had been performing flute music at the Spirit Fighting Arena.

His performances had already mesmerized half of Balak City.

Three months ago, he was just a kid playing the flute in his neighborhood. Now? A rising star.

It all started when the Spirit Fighting Arena manager noticed his talent and, more importantly, a business opportunity.

The deal was simple:

1. Shi Hao would play his flute before every Silver-ranked match.

2. He would receive 10 gold coins per performance.

Since Silver Badge fights were rare, they were scheduled in advance—usually no more than 10 performances per month.

And tonight, there was one such match.

"My name is already spreading through the city… It won't be long before other Spirit Fighting Arenas start requesting me. Soon, I'll have an even bigger stage."

Shi Hao grinned.

He was practically becoming a star in Douluo Continent.
