The remaining goblins start to talk in some strange language, one of them pointing to where I was hiding. Do they know I'm here?
I hold the bone dagger that I looted from the goblin I killed, grip tightening as if preparing to jump into combat—before reason takes control again.
I can't just fight them without a plan. My mind rushes to come up with something.
I need to stay out of sight. That's when I remember playing Assassin's Creed, where I had to kill a group of people by taking them out one by one. I just have to distract them so I can run to the box opposite me and sneak around to kill one of the goblins from behind.
As I'm thinking, I spot a rock on the ground. Why the hell not? If it works in Assassin's Creed… I leave the rest unplanned. I grab the rock and throw it over the box. The second they look away, I run to the opposite box. But as I run, I hear one of the goblins say something. Did they see me?
I move around the box as the goblins walk past. As they do, I sneak behind the one goblin who seems to be lagging behind the group and slit his throat. As I do, I pull the goblin behind the box, hiding us both from the group that will probably find the dead body soon.
Damn it. So much for being a sneaky assassin. Better get the jump on them now. I run to try and kill at least one more. I see the surprise in their yellow eyes as the closest one swings his dagger at me in an attempt to defend himself.
I'm not going to be able to block it, so I go for his neck. I swing my bone dagger—even as my blade ends the goblin's life, I feel a dagger dig into my side. As his now-dead body falls to the ground, I swing at the second goblin. But as I do, it slashes across my face. At the same time, I bury my knife into its chest.
