Chapter 24 - CHAPTER 24

I Forbid You to Die!

Regarding Hinata's abduction, Nissara knew much more about the separation of the family, and upon seeing Hinata stand up, he quickly realized the situation.

However, due to the nature of their relationship, Nikkei didn't say much, merely regarding Xu Fan as Hinata's classmate.

"I am so sorry."

After realizing that Xu Fan was not an intruder, Hyuga Neji immediately apologized to him. His sudden actions were solely driven by the desire to protect his beloved sister.

"It's nothing." Xu Fan nodded, indicating that there was no need for concern. However, his attention was soon drawn to the baby girl in Hinata's arms.

Hinata Hanabi.

Although Xu Fan had read the Naruto manga and watched the anime before his reincarnation, many details had faded from memory. Seeing Hanabi now, he recalled some things about the Hyuga clan.

Nizu and Niiza were obviously twins, yet because Niiza was born a few minutes later, he was branded with the Caged Bird Seal.

This indicated that the clan leadership was inherited by the eldest son, while the second son was relegated to the branch family.

By this logic, the Hyuga clan should have only one true heir.

Yet, in practice, the distinction was ambiguous. When Neji recounted his past, it was clear that he was part of the Hyuga clan, yet his father was not, and he himself bore no Caged Bird Seal.

Was he of the main family or the branch? Did the Hyuga elders decide arbitrarily?

If so, did that not make the branch family mere slaves chosen at the clan's discretion?

As these thoughts crossed his mind, Xu Fan couldn't help but sympathize with Neji's plight.

His father had suffered injustice, and even as he faced death, he wished only to leave his final words to Neji.

And yet, what was the outcome?

Years passed, and the truth remained unspoken.

No one present had ever told Neji the real reason behind his father's death.

Rizu only decided to reveal the truth after witnessing Neji's clash with Naruto and recognizing his talent.

In other words, if Neji had not been strong enough to become the top of his generation and reach the finals of the Chunin Exam, would Hyuga Rizu have ever revealed the truth?

And the most tragic part?

In the end, Neji merely repeated his father's fate.

He sacrificed himself for Naruto and Hinata.

"Thank you. How about you?"

Suddenly, Hyuga turned around, expressing gratitude to Xu Fan before explaining Hinata's situation.

Although Hinata was of the main family, she was extremely shy. Even knowing that Xu Fan had saved her, she was too nervous to interact with him directly.

Hinata hoped Xu Fan would understand.

"It's okay. Now that I see she's fine, I'm relieved." Xu Fan nodded. "Don't mind me. Once the Third Hokage finishes his meeting, I'll leave with him."

Since Hinata was too embarrassed to approach, Xu Fan saw no reason to force the interaction. He planned to enjoy the flowers while waiting for Sarutobi.

What Xu Fan didn't expect was that just as he was about to pass the time idly, his sign-in assistant activated again.

Receiving two missions in a single day was unexpected, but Xu Fan was naturally pleased.

After all, every sign-in granted rewards that made him stronger.

However, this time, the mission details stunned him.

A special sign-in task had been released!

Mission: Go to the Hyuga main house's meeting room and change the fate of Hyuga Niiza. Complete the task to receive a sign-in reward!

Xu Fan: "???"

Change the fate of Hyuga Niiza?

Prevent Hyuga Niiza's destined death?

For a moment, Xu Fan wondered if he had misheard.

Weren't sign-in tasks usually just about reaching a location and waiting ten seconds?

He hadn't expected such a challenge.

"A special sign-in task..."

"If I complete it, will the rewards be even better...?"

Though Xu Fan sympathized with Niiza and Neji, he was not the type to intervene in fate easily.

Moreover, saving Niiza would mean standing against both the Hyuga clan and Sarutobi.

Initially, Xu Fan had intended to stay out of it.

But now...

The situation had changed.

Reflecting on his past rewards—Chakra at Hashirama's level, Wood Release bloodline, mastery over five chakra natures, and even unique gourmet skills—each one had made him immensely powerful.

And those were just standard sign-in rewards.

What about a special reward?

Byakugan?

Tenseigan?

"Hiss..."

Xu Fan took a deep breath, his mindset shifting rapidly.

Even if failing the task bore no punishment, missing out on such a reward would be a huge loss!

"Hyuga Niiza..."

Xu Fan's gaze locked onto Niiza.

At this moment, Niiza was simply a gentle father, kneeling down and ruffling Neji's hair with an affectionate smile.

A strong man, but a softhearted father.

Xu Fan believed that anyone witnessing this moment would be moved.

If fate was unfair, then it should be challenged.

"Hmm?"

Niiza, focused on memorizing Neji's face, noticed Xu Fan approaching.

"Hello there."

"What is it?" Niiza asked kindly, straightening up.

After all, Xu Fan had saved Hinata, and the Hyuga clan owed him a debt of gratitude. Moreover, Xu Fan had been brought here by the Third Hokage himself.

No one dared to neglect him.

Neji also turned his gaze to Xu Fan, though his thoughts remained fixated on his father.

Ordinarily, his father was a strict, unsmiling man, but today he seemed like a different person.

He was so gentle.

It felt strange, yet Neji liked it.

"I need to see the Third Hokage."

Xu Fan spoke bluntly.

Reaching the meeting room was easy—he could find his way even without an escort.

The real challenge was changing Niiza's fate.

After all, the Caged Bird Seal on Niiza's forehead meant that if the main family willed it, his brain would be destroyed instantly.

If the situation escalated, would the clan resort to such measures?

And in this scenario, Niiza wasn't being forced—he was willingly accepting his death.

The only solution...

Was to persuade—or forcibly convince—the Hyuga clan to abandon their decision.
