Chapter 7 - Beneath the Facade of Love

Ash arrived at his room really early. He sat in his usual seat and buried his face on the desk, groaning and moving around. He was tired, but the thought of yesterday could barely keep him sane.

I badly want to talk to Phoenix. Ash thought to himself. He raised his head to look up, and there he was, Phoenix smiling. Shocked, Ash almost fell off from his seat and screamed.

"You scared me!" Ash was furious. Phoenix laughed and pinched his cheeks.

"Care to explain what you said last night?" Ash was serious, looking straight at Phoenix.

"I was serious. I can't be in a relationship right now, but if you'd like, I can give you myself." Phoenix was also serious, making Ash even more curious. He was lost.

"You mean like a friend with benefits?" Phoenix nodded his head, agreeing with Ash.

"We'd have to pretend like there's nothing going on between us, but then behind close doors, we're—"

"Fucking," Ash cut Phoenix mid-sentence. Ash has got nothing else to say. He thought for a bit.

This may end up in two ways: the worst idea he'd agree on or the best idea. The worst idea could lead to him getting himself hurt in the end. He knew the basics of having a fuck buddy, or a fubu—there are no emotions in it. You have no reason to dictate to them or even have the sense of jealousy. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

On the brighter side of it, it is still a win for him. He wasn't rejected, nor has Phoenix shown any signs of avoidance. All he could do was enjoy this moment without caring about the consequences that he could face.

Thinking about it now, he'd rather take this chance than none at all. He was scared, but he'd be damned to pass on this opportunity.

"Let's do it," Ash agreed to the offer.

"Are you sure about this?" Phoenix asked once more, making sure that Ash will not regret this. But then, Ash nodded to his question. He was sure about it.

Phoenix laid out the main grounds for this new label they had. There will be no I love you's, no people knowing about this situation, and more importantly, no expectations, no jealousy, no hooking up with others... and many more that Phoenix mentioned.

It was a lot to take in, but Ash agreed to it nevertheless. He was new to this, but he got the main gist of it.

"We have to pretend like no one knows about us, right?" Ash raised his question.

"Yes. No one should know, not even my friends or yours," Phoenix clarified. Ash took his time to let everything sink in.

Ash's mind was filled with even more questions, fantasies, and fear. He knew there'd be little to no chance of Phoenix catching any feelings, but he held on to that little hope that there would be something. The thrilling fantasy has made him excited, wanting to crave more of Phoenix. Remembering what happened the night before, he bit his lips with the thought of doing it with the person he liked.

"Ash to earth? Is he still there?" Phoenix has been calling Ash for a bit, and Ash was in what it seems to be like a trance.

"Yes!" Ash was quick with it. He looked at Phoenix and smiled a little.

The day passed by fast, and by the end of their last subject, everyone was already packing their bags and leaving. Phoenix and Ash waited for others to leave, purposely slowing down to pack their notebooks and laptops into their bags. Saying their farewells, it was only the two of them in the room. It was quiet, intimate, but more importantly, sensual.

Phoenix walked towards Ash and sat next to him. There was no exchanging of words, but rather they let their bodies do the talking. It was their shoulders touching at first, and then their hands touched under the desk. Still, no words. It was slowly feeling a bit heated.

Ash took the initiative and started rubbing Phoenix's hands, then his back. Phoenix looked down at Ash, and he looked back. Ash gulped as he felt their faces slowly moving in to each other. Lips barely touching, Phoenix dived in to ravage Ash. The depths were explored—their tongues danced with the rhythm they had made.

Quiet moans filled the empty room as both Ash and Phoenix continued. Their hands were inside each other's clothes, touching every defined detail of their bodies. The slight line of Phoenix's abs and Ash's nipples was played. Catching their breaths, both their gazes met with one another.

"We can't do this here," Ash slowly pulled back, still breathing heavily.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself." Phoenix caressed Ash's face.

"Let's take this somewhere else," Phoenix recommended.

Both of them packed their bags and went into Phoenix's apartment, a few blocks away from Ash. It was Ash's first time going here. The door opened, and he was greeted with a cute tuxedo cat. Ash was excited to see the cat. He patted the cat, trying to win its affection. The cat let him do so, but then immediately ran away from him.

"That's Mr. Tony, the tuxedo cat." Phoenix smiled, locking the door behind him. Ash washed his hands and was tailing Phoenix. They placed their belongings on the sofa and sat next to each other.

The adrenaline was there, and Ash couldn't keep himself steady. Phoenix, on the other hand, was the same. He couldn't keep it to himself and would want to devour Ash right then and there, but he chose not to, trying not to scare him away. Phoenix led Ash's head to his chest, trying to make him rest in there.

Ash could only hear the fast beating of Phoenix's heart. It was skipping a beat, and he could clearly hear the heavy breathing of Phoenix. He felt safe there, comforted and warm. Ash looked up to Phoenix once more and gave him a kiss. Like last night, Ash was sitting on Phoenix's lap for better comfort. There, they buried their lips into each other, and Ash was trying to move his hips slowly. Trying to make something feel better.

Phoenix licked Ash's neck, and Ash pulled lightly on Phoenix's hair. He was hitting the spot. Phoenix wanted to leave a mark but did not continue, afraid of getting scolded by Ash.

"Do you want to see something?" Phoenix offered.
