Chapter 20 - 6."The Hunt and the Hunted"

Location: Aiden Blake's Office, New YorkTime: 3:00 PM

Aiden Blake scanned the piles of documents and flickering screens in front of him.Everything he had gathered… didn't add up.

Vincent Kang – A man who legally doesn't exist.

Feynman – Tied to multiple financial hacking incidents (but no solid evidence).

Angie – Known for multiple forged identities. Unreliable at best.

By the book, they were criminals. But this wasn't just a matter of black and white.

"What if all this intel was leaked… by Dominic's side?"

He murmured to himself while monitoring the current media and social trends.

Sudden spike in news around "financial hacking" and "con artists."

Growing negative sentiment toward "anonymous hacker groups."

Algorithm seemed tampered — certain keywords consistently pushed to the top.

This wasn't organic.It was manufactured.

"Son of a bitch…"

His fingers pressed against his temple. Now, he was sure.

Dominic Scott was manipulating the media.

And as a journalist, he knew what had to be done.

"I need to uncover what these people are really after."

Operation: Bait and Hunt — The Game with Gabriel

Location: Outskirts of Harrison CityTime: 9:00 PM

Gabriel sat inside an unmarked vehicle, silently reviewing the situation.Beside him, analyst Emily tapped away on her tablet.

Vincent Kang – 99% success rate in avoiding surveillance cams.

Feynman – Recent encrypted comms detected.

Angie – Spotted at a VIP event. Possible infiltration.

"They're definitely prepping something," Gabriel muttered.

Emily nodded, showing him a highlighted section of her tablet.

"Someone poked around Dominic's network again. But it's odd."

"What's odd?"

"The breach was too obvious. Like… they wanted to be seen."

Gabriel's expression hardened.

"…No way."

Just then—

"Tick."

A faint red dot appeared on the windshield.

Sniper lock.

"Shit—DOWN!"

Location: Abandoned Factory, Harrison CityTime: 9:15 PM

Vincent moved like a shadow through the ruins. He knew Gabriel's team was hunting him.

So, he flipped the script.

He left breadcrumbs in the code.

He let himself be partially seen by surveillance.

He made sure Dominic's men noticed.

All of it for one goal:

"Lure Gabriel here."

Now, the bait had worked.

Inside the Factory

Gabriel ducked behind cover, barely dodging the sniper round.Frustration boiled on his face.

"Damn it… it's you again."

Vincent stepped from the shadows, pistol in hand, calm as ever.

"Hope you don't mind—I've been waiting for you."

"You lured us?"

Vincent nodded slowly.

"Message for Dominic."

Gabriel steadied his breath, settling into a stance. He was ex-special forces. On paper, he and Vincent were equals.

But one thing always tipped the scale.

Gabriel – reactive, emotional.

Vincent – cold, calculating.

That difference had decided their last clash.

Now, Gabriel was getting pulled into Vincent's tempo once again.

"You won't win so easily this time," Gabriel growled.

"Wouldn't be fun if I did," Vincent replied, smirking.

Gabriel's face twisted.

"You people talk about justice… then kill whoever stands in your way."

Vincent tilted his head.

"Justice? I've never claimed that word. Sounds like your burden, not mine."

Gabriel flinched. His stance shifted—more tense, more readable.

Vincent studied him.Emotions made patterns.

"So why work for Dominic? Some noble belief?"

"What I believe in is none of your damn business."

"Exactly. Because you believe in nothing."

"Shut up!"

Gabriel lunged forward.

Right then—Vincent sidestepped and slammed a brutal kick into Gabriel's side.Gabriel stumbled, groaning.

"Shit…"

He dropped to one knee, gripping his side.

Vincent retrieved a gun and calmly aimed it at his opponent's head.

"It's over."

Gabriel scoffed through the pain.

"Fine… I'll admit you're better than I thought."

Vincent slowly lowered the gun.

"Think you'll win next time?"

Gabriel smirked from the ground.

"Guess we'll find out."

He had lost. But he had seen Vincent's true strength.

Dominic wouldn't ignore this defeat.

And in his eyes—A storm was gathering.

"Fine then. Let's start the real war."

He flipped a page of the document on the desk, revealing a new operation plan.

"You two can't handle this alone. I'll assign you a team."

Gabriel nodded,

"Vincent never engages head-on. He first unsettles his opponent, provoking emotions before striking."

"Alright. This time, we make the first move."
