Kiana Kaslana was just sitting in class.
Feeling utterly, completely betrayed.
Her partner in crime, Gojo Satoru, had abandoned her without mercy in this hellhole of a class…
Math.
And you know what the extra gut punch was? Her phone wasn't even with her!
It was confiscated early in the morning when she was caught playing it.
Thus, there were no games, no memes and no escape. The teacher's eyes were laser-focused on her after this morning's situation.
All she had was her math textbook and the droning voice of the teacher in front.
She spun the pencil in her hand, praying for some sort of intervention.
And then, the teacher spoke.
"Do page 10 to page 18 of the workbook. Hand it in after class."
Kiana froze.
EIGHT. FLIPPING. PAGES???!!!!
She was never going to survive that.
That was when the boom hit.
Sharp, thunderous and loud.
Her pencil snapped in her hand as the walls trembled around her. Clouds of dust dropped from the ceiling as she heard the coughs from her fellow classmates.
Kiana's narrowed eyes whipped outside the window.
"… Gojo, what the hell did you do now?"

As the cloud of dust settled, Raiden Mei was met once more with my unfazed figure.
Her eyebrows lifted slightly, the first true crack in her mask.
"I expected you to try and stop me from damaging the environment." Mei's voice came out.
"Mei, the school building would be the last thing I would try to protect."
"Ah… true." Mei seemed contemplative again. "But I really thought that you were one of those chivalrous types that I saw from TV…"
I laughed slightly. "Would you like me to go all, 'That's my ninja way' next or something?"
"It would be more entertaining than you just hiding in your shell I suppose."
I was not given a chance to reply as my instincts suddenly screamed at me.
Turning my head to the side, I found my self face to face with something- a paperclip, ready to strike me hard in the head.
Clicking my tongue, I quickly added that to Infinity's current blacklist, stopping it dead in its tracks as well.
"Oh? That nearly hit. So your shell isn't so impervious after all."
Mei's gaze sharpened. The amusement in her voice didn't fade, but it cooled- more cold, curious even.
"That paperclip nearly made it through. In that case, it isn't about speed is it?" She asked, her eyes brightening as if she was finally fitting the pieces of a puzzle. "My lightning would have made it through otherwise."
"A type of filtration perhaps?"
I kept silent, making my own hypothesis as well.
She sent a flying metal object at me. Did that mean she had telekinesis?
That could be one possibility
However, there could be another- one far more dangerous.
If her ability was not just lightning, but something far broader…
Electromagnetism
That would be… troublesome.
Lightning would then just be a part of her true abilities. And suddenly this fight will become very, very worrying.
"Why are you so silent now? Is that really all you have?" Mei's expression became more relaxed, believing that she had arrived at the truth. "If that's the case, you might as well crawl and offer yourself for forgiveness now."
I waved my hand. "Sorry, but I'm not really into S&M play here."
"You flatter yourself. I was thinking more of a master and its dog."
"That's still kinda kinky."
Raiden Mei finally fell into silence at that, clearly not knowing what to say. I could see her brow furrowing, but she just let out a sigh.
"Perhaps it was a mistake trying to argue with a fool."
With a flick of her finger, a spark of purple flashed. At that, tens of objects came flying out from the dust.
My eyes darted left and right as I quickly recognised some of the objects.
Aluminium rulers, tweezers, keychains…
None were lethal though…
I immediately recognised all of them, and they all stopped just before hitting me.
My senses blared once more as I felt some objects behind me this time.
Lightning bolts, mechanical pencils, metal water bottles…
Twisting, turning trying to attack from different angles.
Lightning bolts were already in my blacklist and the others still weren't fast enough to bypass my recognition of them.
As long as I could throw the object into my blacklist, it wouldn't enter no matter how fast it went.
I didn't relax. I knew that at this rate, there would be trouble. Mei had the initiative here right now with her varied powers and impossibly fast speed.
I needed something to bridge the gap soon or…
It was at that moment I realised…
Mei was gone from her spot.
But at this moment…
Finally…
*Clunk*
A savage grin appeared on my face.
And then with a simple lift of my hand.
I caught her arm, mid swing of her Kendo sword that she had picked up from somewhere.
Mei's eyes widened in disbelief, completely breaking her visage earlier of an elegant girl.
"But… how? You clearly couldn't react to my speed before…"
And I, feeling absolutely giddy right now, could not help but push the proverbial blade in her ribs a bit deeper.
"Your next line is… Why are you so much faster now?"
"Why are you so much-" Mei's voice cracked. "You…"
Her composure returned immediately as her body burst out with lightning. I had already let her arm before that though as I stayed exactly in the same spot that I had been in ever since the battle began.
"Not bad, don't you think?" I asked.
Mei snorted. "Just a little better than I expected. Don't get ahead of yourself Gojo Satoru."
"Finally using my name? I'm honoured."
"I just think that you're a little more interesting now than before."
I let out a smile. "In that case, would you like to go for a Round 3, Raiden Mei?"
"You're not calling me Raiden-senpai anymore either?"
"It's a bit tiring to have to keep using honourifics like that you know?"
"Hmm." Mei brandished her wooden kendo sword. "I guess it was foolish of me to expect manners from someone like you."
I didn't mind her words.
I had already seen my path to victory after all.
A small pink face with emerald green eyes, that only I could see, slowly appeared on my forehead.
