Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE/ THE WIND-FIELD

As daylight shines across the blue sky, there lays at the bottom, Tensura Town. On a large and wide grassy green hill, it stands. Five towers surrounding every corner with brown brick roofs.

And of course, the large tall borders. The 50 feet tall walls that surround the town completely. Four massive steel gates placed on all four of the border walls.

The gates dented and rusty, with overgrown vines circling and grasping all around the steel bars.

And at the very bottom of the hill, lays the dark forest. The trees flowing with the wind along with the dark green flowers. Light blue berries hung on each bush.

Inside Tensura Town, a young 14 year old boy runs through a bustling crowd, a wide grin on his face as he skips on his way. The boy being known as Jerry Windfield. A little scout knight.

Jerry only standing at a small 5'3 feet. Jerry having blonde spiky hair and light blue eyes. His brown torn cape flowing behind him, wearing brown old leather armor and black baggy pants.

Having bruises all over his cheeks, and his brown boots being filled with mud. "Sorry, Excuse me! Gotta go! Sorry!" Jerry zoomed through Tensura Town, his grin growing wider and wider as he got closer to his destination.

"Phew! I'm finally here!" He exclaimed, looking up a massive building know as, "The Shine Knight Courthouse." Jerry took a deep breath before he bursted through the big sturdy doors.

Instantly falling on his head, hitting the white tile floor. His eyes widened in awe as he looked around, seeing all the statues of Shine Knights, made out of white quartz pieces.

In the center, stood a wooden table. Beer bottles, cards, and silver blades being laid on it. Three Council Members standing at the table. Each of them wearing different animal wood masks.

One wearing a wood monkey mask, and being intensely drunk. Another wearing a wood wolf mask, sharpening his knives. And the last wearing a wood lion mask, practically almost asleep.

The drunk one instantly groaned as he saw Jerry. "Oh brother, here we…Hic!..go again. When are we gonna get some actual worthy hotshots?"

The one sharpening his knives, stopped as he looked up. "Jerry Windfield, is it? Son of Martha Windfield and Terry Windfield, right?"

Jerry nodded quickly as he scrambled up. "Yup! That's me! And I'm here to sign up for Shine Knight recruitments!!"

The sleepy one suddenly jolted up as he grunted. "I recognize that voice! Ugh, it's that cheeky brat again, he tried to sign up last year."

"Pfft, took you….Hic!….Ugh, long enough to find out already, ya dumbass." Jerry just grinned as he tried to stand correctly and orderly. "Like we told you before, you're way too young and weak to be a Shine Knight."

Jerry slowly frowned, looking down at his hands before he shook his head. "No! I'm 14 now! That's almost over the required age, at least! And I've gotten stronger! Look!" Jerry then ran over as he tried to lift one of the silver blades off the desk.

His veins straining as he barely managed to even grasp the blade, let alone lift it. The sleepy council member facepalming, while the drunk one just laughed. "Hic! Maybe we should let him become a Border Patrol Knight, Im sure that would shut him down, being around so many monsters."

"Enough, Jerry. Since you've grown in age, I no longer have to sugarcoat this. You are by far the pinnacle of disappointment and weakness. You try and try, and yet you fail at almost everything you do, it's sad to watch. This will be your final time coming here, and if you do come back, you will be punished. Do you understand?"

Jerry's lip started to quiver, but he quickly bit down it, blood trickling down as he simply nodded, turning around as he walked out.

The sun was setting down on Tensura Town, giving the sky a orangish reddish color. "Sorry, Mom. Sorry, Dad. Guess I'll just have to try next year…..I'll try." He thought to himself.

That's when, a white brick appeared out of nowhere, hitting Jerry square in his left eye as he dropped down hard. Blood streaming out his left eye as he held it tightly. Jerry letting out a loud yelp of pain as he looked around.

His eyes finally resting on three figures, Border Patrol Knights. Ones he knew very well, especially a certain one. Darius Darlock. "Well well. Look who I've found, the weakling himself."

Darius stood tall at 6 foot, being only 16 years old. He had blonde spiky hair like Jerry, but much more messier. His brown eyss flat as his brown cape billowed behind him.

Darius wearing dark brown armor, and dark brown armor leggings. His sharp teeth glinting as he grinned widely. His too lackeys, Daral and Darren being right behind him. The two being twin brothers, with brown eyes and brown curly hair.

"L….leave me alone! G…go away!!" Jerry screamed as he started to crawl away, only for Darius pull him by the leg right back. "What happened, I thought we were having fun, Jerry!?"

Darren and Daral chuckled nervously as they crossed their arms. "Ya know, Darius. I think I saw Windfield actually trying to sign up to be a Shine Knight." Darren said, smirking.

Darius instantly dropped Jerry as he turned over, his eyes widening. "He did? Ahahahahahahahahaha! This weakling tried to sign up again, despite the warnings I gave him."

Jerry held the tears in, ignoring what Darius was saying as he continued to try and crawl away. Darius, without hesitation, stomped on Jerry's leg with pure glee. A bone chilling crack being heard before Jerry let out an ear shattering scream.

Daral and Darren instantly covered their mouths in horror as they stepped, "Darius! Don't you think….dont you think you're going to far!?" Daral yelled with fear.

Darius rolled his eyes as he lifted Jerry's head up by his hair. "Oh grow up. He'll walk it off. Besides, he had this coming."

Jerry suddenly started to cry loudly, trying to get anyone's attention, only to hear silence. No one came to his rescue. "Awww, look at you. Trying to find help? They won't do anything." Darius whispered before punching Jerry right in the face, blood rushing out Jerry's nose.

"You see, Jerry. We're Border Patrol. The people need us alive. We're what protects them from the monsters outside the border walls. So I can do whatever the fuck I want to you."

Darius then lunged at Jerry, jumping right ontop of him before raising his knife and stabbing it greatly through Jerry's left eye. Blood bursting and splashing all over Darius face.

Daral and Darren instantly puked as they ran away, disappearing into the distance of the town. Jerry cried louder as he held his eye. Blood covering his entire hand as he whimpered.

"Oh, it's okay. I got you some parting gifts." Darius said with a twisted grin, throwing two long big brown bags infront of Jerry. "I hope you enjoy them, throughly." He cackled before running away, leaving Jerry bleeding in the night.

Jerry stumbled as he saw zippers on the bags. Out of lasting curiosity. He unzipped them both...

Within a flash, Jerry let out a loud blood curdling scream of pain and horror, tears dripping fast down his cheeks. Jerry screaming and screaming again and again into the night...….over…..over his dead parent's bodies.
