Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: It's grinding time!

[Basic-tier Kaisan Wolf has been killed.]

Hal could be seen standing in front of the already-dead monster.

The fight had taken less than a minute, and Hal was left dumbfounded.

He ran the way the fight had gone down in his head again and was still speechless.

The wolf let out a loud growl before jumping at him with its maws opened wide to tear him apart, and all he did was get into a low position and took a swipe at its neck, and the next thing that could be seen was the head of the wolf flying away in the opposite direction and its body landed on the ground with a loud thud.

He couldn't explain what happened. Was it because of his newfound strength or the proficiency of the daggers? He couldn't say it was all due to his strength, after all, he was still at the E rank, so he would say the daggers played a major role also.

But if he were to look at it, he wasn't like every regular rank E's. His strength stat was nearing the 30 mark, so he guessed that was also why cutting apart the wolf's neck had felt like cutting through tofu.

"Wowsers, that was pretty cool."

"I guess I've changed a lot then, huh?"

The feeling he got from killing a basic-tier monster without nearly breaking a sweat was thrilling, and he couldn't wait to test out this newfound strength of his.

Fortunately for him, the heavens seemed to have heard his desire, as a pack of Kaisan wolves could be seen coming out from the woods.

Hal quickly got into a stance as the wolves surrounded him.

"Growl!"

"Grr..."

"Growl!!"

The sound of the wolves growling could be heard, as they seemed to be out for blood for the death of their comrade.

The monsters this time around, ranged from the basic tier to the intermediate tier, so the fight wasn't going to be easy as the last.

But Hal had no plan on chickening out; no, instead, he wasn't going to go easy on them at all.

"Well, you guys might be out for blood, but I'm also out for leveling up, and not only that, I have some unfinished business with your kind."

"So bring it on."

As if to answer him, an intermediate-tier monster ran toward him while swiping its claws at him.

Hal sidestepped and avoided the paw before slashing down with both daggers, and a large gash could be seen on the body of the monster; he didn't stop there but went ahead to cut off the head of the wolf, finishing the monster within seconds.

He looked up, and could see another monster with its fanged beared in front him, before the monster could react, Hal jumped into the air and stabbed his dagger into the head of the monster.

"Pwcch!"

"Two down, five more to go."

Three of the monsters could be seen running towards him from different directions, and two could be seen in mid-air, almost in front of him.

Hal tried removing the dagger from the head of the monster but realized it was stuck, he quickly threw the other dagger, and it struck one of the wolves in mid-air right in the chest.

He used his other hand, which was free, to punch the head of the other wolf, and it exploded right away.

POW!!

Hal finally removed the dagger from the head of the dead wolf, but by this time the rest of the monsters had closed in on him.

[Intermediate tier Kaisan Wolf has been killed.]

[Level up!]

[Level up!]

"Wow, I leveled up twice; that's awesome!."

To make sure, his ears weren't deceiving him, Hal hurriedly accessed his status window.

Hal swiped his daggers to wipe away the blood on them and kicked the body of the last monster he had killed.

He, indeed, had leveled up twice! And not only that, he noticed that each of his stats had gone up by two points, and his HP had gone up by 30, Could it be that when he leveled up, a single point was added to his stats?

If it was so, it would make sense to say that because he had leveled up twice, two points had been added to each of his stats.

That seemed like the most logical thinking.

If it truly was so, then it wasn't only the quest rewards that could impact the values of his stats. Leveling up was also a means.

This was superb. It had taken him just 8 monsters to increase his level by two and the dungeon hadn't been cleared yet.....

"...Which means there is still a possibility I get to level up again before clearing the dungeon."

"Which also means, increased stats points, which also means increased strength."

This just felt too good, if he could continue like this, Hal felt he would increase in level a lot in no time.

"Well, if I want that to happen, I have to go find more monsters to kill, to get stronger."

Hal got up from where he had sat and walked deeper into the forest.

And for the first time in his life as a Hunter', he felt pure anticipation for the hunt.
