Chapter 72 - Chapter 73: Runaway

Now then, what am I supposed to do with all this overflowing passion?

As I adjusted my yukata, I realized my thoughts had shifted… well, south.

I was completely fired up. My eyes gleamed as they instinctively searched for someone to unleash it upon.

I could let it pass without doing anything, but thanks to a certain someone stirring the pot, I was now painfully aware of it. This is exactly why the instigator always ends up paying the price.

"By the way, just so you know, everyone here at the inn has already had their vaccinations, so technically, you're good with anyone."

...Don't just expand my options like that out of nowhere.

"As for me, it'd be a wasted shot, so from a scheduling perspective, it's smoother if you occasionally catch a sparrow or something."

"Scheduling?"

"Ovulation cycle. You do care about that stuff, right?"

I wanted to say, "What the hell, that's terrifying," but then I remembered—Misago did seem to care about that kind of thing.

Still, forgetting who 'Sparrow' even is feels kind of rude. Besides, she's not the one I should be flirting with right now.

"Well, do whatever you want—"

I grabbed Yata-chan's hand.

"—the way you want to."

Her eyes darted nervously.

"I don't mind eventually sleeping with everyone... but right now, the one I want to hold is you."

The words slipped out before I could stop them.

"...Idiot."

She turned her eyes away, blushing deep red. Not entirely displeased, though. This must be one of those "no means yes" situations, right?

"Alright, I'm off. I'll make it up to everyone else later during their exclusive time slots."

I gave an apologetic look to Hachikuma-san.

"You don't have to worry that much... though I'd appreciate it if you remembered that later. But, seriously, at least close your yukata properly."

Hachikuma delivered a well-deserved jab. Yeah... it was still hanging open.

From Hachikuma's Perspective

Yep, saw that coming.

That was clearly an OK sign if I've ever seen one.

If it ever came down to a fistfight or a wrestling match with Granny Yata, even I wouldn't stand a chance.

The moment she didn't pull her hand away, there was no point in saying anything else.
