Chapter 34 - Chapter 33 – The Birth of the Sun Grimoire

The Grimoire Ceremony

The Grimoire Tower of the Clover Kingdom stood tall, its ancient spire glowing with magical energy. Today, all fifteen-year-olds would receive their grimoire, the sacred book that would grant them their unique magic.

Among the gathered commoners and nobles, Solis Vermillion stood at the forefront. Dressed in his royal robes, he exuded an aura of quiet authority, his golden eyes scanning the room.

Although he had already begun shaping the kingdom's future through politics and military reforms, this was a defining moment—he would finally unlock his true magical potential.

Whispers filled the air as the other candidates eyed him nervously.

"The prince is here…"

"Do you think he'll get a four-leaf grimoire like the First Wizard King?"

"Or maybe even a five-leaf…?"

Even some nobles, who secretly opposed him, watched with interest.

The Selection Begins

One by one, grimoires floated down, choosing their owners.

Nobles received grimoire books decorated with gold and silver, while commoners obtained simpler, more rugged versions.

Then, as the last student received their grimoire, a strange silence filled the tower.

The air grew hot, and the light from the windows dimmed, as if the very sun itself was shifting its focus.

Solis remained still.

Then—

A brilliant golden light erupted from the center of the tower, forcing everyone to shield their eyes.

A single grimoire descended, engulfed in flames—but not just any flames. Sunfire.

It was larger than any other grimoire, its cover shining like molten gold, with four glowing clovers imprinted on it.

A Four-Leaf Grimoire.

The temperature in the room skyrocketed. Some people collapsed from the heat, while others backed away in awe and fear.

The Power of the Sun

The moment Solis touched the grimoire, an explosion of heat and magic surged through him.

His body felt lighter yet stronger. His magic, once uncontrollable, now felt like an extension of his will.

And then—words appeared on the pages.

[Sunshine Magic: Cruel Sun]

A blazing orb materialized above his palm, pulsing with immeasurable heat. Even standing several feet away, people felt as if they were under the noon sun on the hottest day of summer.

The nobles gasped in shock.

"Impossible… That power…"

The Magic Knights who had come to observe—including Fuegoleon, Nozel, and Julius Novachrono—watched with pure astonishment.

Fuegoleon clenched his fist. "That is the power of the sun itself… A magic beyond anything we've seen."

Julius grinned. "Fascinating… A rare magic unseen in our history. Truly befitting of a king."

Nozel narrowed his eyes. "His power rivals even the highest nobles. If he continues to grow, he will become something far beyond our expectations."

Fear & Admiration

As the flames dimmed, Solis closed his grimoire, his golden eyes glowing like embers.

The other students stared at him in awe and fear.

Some knelt instinctively, as if witnessing the birth of a divine being.

Others whispered:

"A monster…"

"No, a god…"

"He's not just a prince—he's a force of nature."

Even among the hostile nobles, silence filled the room.

For the first time, they realized—Solis Vermillion was no ordinary ruler.

He was power itself.

And from this day forward, the Sun King had risen.
