Chapter 35 - Chapter 34 – The Sun Rises Over the Throne

The Day of Judgment

The grand halls of the Clover Kingdom's Royal Palace were filled with an unnatural silence.

Inside the Throne Room, nobles, ministers, and military officials stood in tense anticipation. Whispers filled the air, as the kingdom's most powerful individuals gathered for what would become a historic day.

At the far end of the chamber sat King Augustus Kira Clover XIII, slouching on his golden throne, a lazy expression on his face.

Though he was officially the ruler, his lack of interest in governance had been well-known for years. The true power of the kingdom lay in the hands of the parliament and the Magic Emperor.

But today, something had changed.

Everyone in the room knew why they were gathered.

Today, Prince Solis Vermillion would take the throne.

Solis Enters – A Tyrant's Presence

The massive double doors swung open.

A single figure strode in—Solis Vermillion.

The room's temperature instantly rose as he entered, his presence overwhelming. He walked with purpose, his golden eyes burning with determination.

Even the most powerful nobles felt uneasy in his presence. Some clenched their fists, others gritted their teeth, realizing that today would mark the end of their influence.

Behind him, Magic Knights, members of the Royal Army, and key political figures followed in silence.

As he approached the throne, King Augustus yawned, tapping his fingers on the armrest of his golden chair.

"So, you're finally making your move, huh?" His voice was laced with boredom, as if he was discussing the weather rather than the loss of his crown.

Solis met his father's gaze with an unwavering stare.

"You've abandoned this throne for years, father. The kingdom needs a ruler, not a man who only enjoys luxury."

The nobles gasped. Never before had anyone spoken so bluntly to the king.

Augustus merely chuckled.

"And what? You think you can do better?" He leaned forward. "A fourteen-year-old brat who just got his grimoire yesterday?"

The room's temperature spiked, beads of sweat forming on the brows of several nobles.

Solis exhaled slowly, calming his magic before it burned the palace walls.

"This is not about what I think. It's about what I will do." His voice was calm, yet absolute. "I've already taken control of the army. The parliament obeys my word. The people recognize me as their true king. You have no real power left, father."

The king's lazy smirk faltered for the first time.

That was when he realized—

His rule was truly over.

Noble Resistance – The Last Stand

Suddenly, one of the high-ranking nobles, Duke Albrecht, stepped forward.

"This is an outrage!" he bellowed. "The throne is not something you can just take, boy! You may have power, but the laws of succession are absolute!"

A few nobles murmured in agreement, while others stayed silent, waiting to see who would prevail.

Solis's eyes narrowed, his golden aura flickering like a rising sun.

"Laws created by corrupt nobles who steal from the people?" He scoffed. "I am not taking the throne. I am reclaiming it for the kingdom."

Duke Albrecht gritted his teeth.

"The Magic Emperor has the final say in any change of power! Julius Novachrono must approve this before you—"

The doors swung open again, and a familiar voice echoed through the hall.

"I already have."

All eyes turned as Julius Novachrono stepped into the throne room.

The Magic Emperor himself had arrived.

Julius's Judgment

Julius, his usual calm and amused expression intact, glanced around the room before focusing on King Augustus.

"King Augustus, you have not attended a single parliament session in over five years." He spoke firmly but without malice. "Prince Solis, on the other hand, has been handling both governance and military affairs long before even receiving his grimoire."

His gaze flicked to Solis.

"It is true that you are young. But leadership is not defined by age, but by action." He turned back to Augustus. "And by all accounts, Solis has already been the true ruler of Clover Kingdom for years."

King Augustus let out a tired sigh.

"So even you side with him, Julius?" He chuckled, rubbing his temples. "Tch. Fine. I never wanted the damn throne anyway."

With a wave of his hand, the king stood up and stepped down from the throne.

The room fell into complete silence.

The nobles watched in disbelief as Augustus walked past Solis, stopping only for a moment to glance at his son.

"You win, kid." His voice was hollow. "Do whatever you want with the kingdom."

Then, without another word, he walked away.

Solis did not look back.

His eyes were fixed on the throne.

The Tyrant Takes the Crown

With slow, measured steps, Solis ascended to the throne.

The golden chair was warm beneath his touch, the weight of history settling upon his shoulders.

But he did not hesitate.

He sat upon the throne—his throne.

For the first time in Clover Kingdom's history, a true Vermillion King had taken the seat of power.

Julius turned to the room.

"All hail Solis Vermillion, the new King of Clover Kingdom."

There was a long silence, then, one by one, the Magic Knights and loyal nobles bent the knee.

Even the most reluctant ministers bowed, realizing they had no other choice.

The commoners outside, already aware of the shift in power, erupted into cheers.

The Sun King had risen.

But in the shadows, resentful nobles clenched their fists.

"The boy must fall."

"We will not allow him to rule unchecked."

"This… is only the beginning."
