"Kael," Mrs. Sinclair said, "don't worry about your father and eat your meal. I know you've had a long day from coming back home."
"Sure, mum." Kaelith nodded as he dug into his food.
"So, tell me, how has school been? Like in keeping yourself hidden? I also want you to understand that I never wanted you to live this way, hiding yourself."
Kaelith nodded as he looked up at Mrs. Sinclair. "I understand, mum," he added. "I know that you don't really like all these things and you don't want your baby having to live a life of lies, but it's just got to happen. Dad wouldn't let me go to college physically if he knew this. He would've made me do online classes, and I don't want that."
"I understand," she said, her hands clutching her chest where her heart was. "But it saddens me to think about it."
"I know. It also saddens me. So, about dad, has he been like this since I left? How did he even find out about it?" Kaelith asked.
