Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Cooking With Emma & The Future

(POV James)

2 hours later . . .

"Honey, we need to talk right now, " I said while my son was taking a shower in the downstairs bathroom.

"Honey Bear, make it quick, my time isn't unlimited even with our son's long showers. I still have to teach him the foundations of supernatural history, knowledge, and general common sense.

Chances are at the rate I am going I might have to tell him about the two classifications of magic I know of." She said avoiding the hollow subject once again.

"I still need to finish making the spaghetti, the meat is already seasoned and the sauce is ready. I just need to boil some noodles and cook the meat." She explained while stirring the pot full of noodles as she added some salt to the water.

"Emma, it's three classifications of magic. I know you hate borrowers please, try not to mix your bias and hate towards the borrowers when teaching." I replied as I was worried my wife would taint our son in her hate for borrowers or hollows as she called them.

"Fine, James, I'll tell our baby boy about those dirty rotten hollows... I'll even a bit of info on what those bastards are... Will that make you happy, James!? You know I'm trying to be reasonable, right?" She said before she turned around, to face me with her eyebrows raised & eyes darkened.

"Yes, honey, I understand, but we got to be reasonable when we start teaching our son things without bias from our previous history..." I asked as she turned off the stove and put her pot to the side to truly pay attention to our conversation.

"Fine, James... If you're going to play like that, then you can't be teaching our son about those disgusting habits from jujutsu society!" She said while looking me in the eyes before she turned the stove on, and went back to cooking.

"A true jujutsu sorcerer needs to learn about these things, Emma... Our son may be a cripple, but his awakening showed that may change in the future!" I stated while sitting down nearby on a chair.

"A true mage learns to hate those hollows and everything they stand for, James! A true mage will never forget the past. The past shapes our future, and the partial acceptance of those bastards into modern magic communities... IS UNACCEPTABLE YOU HEAR ME!" My wife spoke calmly at first before she yelled out the last bit.

"Fine, we will compromise honey... I get to teach him a bit about my feelings on jujutsu society. Then you get to teach him the correct information based on borrowers using facts, not feelings." I said while sighing at my wife's inherited hate she got from the last witch coven...

'I mean, she wasn't truly wrong in the end about her thoughts on borrowers, but I feel that's a bad foot to step on when we teach our son the basics.' I thought while drinking a beer. I secretly took from the freezer while my wife was cooking.

'Nothing like a chilled beer to make my problems seemingly vanish, but I got to get some of that dwarven stuff... This stuff isn't going to cut it with the body I have now because of the potion Grandpa Max gave at our wedding.

I still can't believe I didn't drink that potion sooner... If I did, so much of the hassle I've had to face over the years could have been solved easily!' I thought as I watched my wife cook for a little before I asked a few more questions.

"Remember to tone down the hate when you teach our son later... Remember what you promised, honey." I said while drinking my 7th chilled beer.

'Still nothing huh...' I thought while not getting the same feeling my old pal brought me in the past.

"Fine... James, I've already agreed, but know this. I'm not raising a hollow-loving bastard in this house! True practitioners of magic learn to hate hollows for what they did and keep doing." My wife's voice was seething with rage, but she controlled herself and continued cooking.

"Honey Bear wanna try some." She said as she offered me some of the sauce she was making.

'Hopefully, my Honey Bear forgets about my little outburst after trying some of the sauce I made... I got to get a better handle on myself...' She thought as she groaned and kept cooking.

"You know I love your cooking, but this isn't why I talked to you in the first place. Lucas needs some friends, like friends who will become hunters.

He needs someone close to him besides us who knows and understands him." I declined the offer with hesitation, I still needed to get back on topic for our son.

"What about John Winchester's kids?" She asked absentmindedly while cooking.

"John is a good friend of mine, but his children are too young to be Lucas's friends. Our son doesn't even have any real friends at school before." I replied, expressing my concerns.

"What about Atsuko Urameshi Te---, she has kids. Aren't you and her husband all buddy-buddy since you two met 15 years ago." She said as she was tasting the sauce to see if it had the right amount of spice.

"Aren't her kids four to five years younger than our son? It wouldn't work out." I replied while brainstorming.

"You know she has two kids right? Ranma Saotome is 12 now and turns 13 on November 25 right? Yusuke Urameshi is the one who is four years younger. " My wife said as she was checking on the noodles.

"Oh ya Ranma, he and Lucas are about the same age. Isn't Ranma training to be a hunter too? Was Atsuko the one with demon blood in them from the demon plane or was it another friend?

Wasn't she the same friend you called sis?" I asked while trying to sneakily grab some food from the fridge early only to be smacked on the head with a floating wooden spoon by my wife.

'I know she made a real about no real food before dinner, but come on man... I can get a beer, but I can't eat any food in the meantime! Is she still holding a grudge or what...' I thought, rubbing my head as I drank another beer to smooth my wounds.

"Ya, she's the one and only, so Ranma and Yusuke are hybrids. So talent-wise our baby boy shouldn't feel too isolated growing up with people with a similar power level to himself." She replied before she got some bread and cheese, probably to make our son a grilled cheese sandwich for tomorrow, knowing her.

"It's already March, and with summer being in two months, we should schedule the meeting ahead of time," I replied as he was still rubbing the spot my wife had hit earlier.

'Maybe if I fake getting hurt by her hit, she'll give me more food at dinner? I mean, if I keep rubbing my head while she looks, it might work...' I thought as I grinned at my glorious plan.

"Honey Bear, don't forget to make Yusuke a necklace with your cursed technique, make sure it's durable as you can make it by sacrificing its potential for special cursed energy effects.

Give it to me later so I can enchant it later as a gift to their son. Yusuke is turning eight this month." She replied as she opened the window by the fridge next to the stove.

'Thank god she opened the window this time or else the house would smell like spaghetti for a few days.' I thought while smiling at the view my wife gave me as her ass kept swinging back and forth while she cooked by habit.

'How can a man not smile when his wife has an ass like that' I thought as I did a small prayer thanking the gods for bringing my wife into my life.

This conversation went on for 30 minutes, as they went back and forth giving each other ideas. It ended with them planning to bring Lucas on future hunts so he might meet up with other kids of hunters like him. They also squeezed in a two to three-month break in the summer to go to Japan to see Ranma and Yusuke.
