Chapter 18: Welcome to Nexus
It was complete chaos by the Realm tunnels owned by the Celestial Academy. They were attacked by Vashins. Most of the on-site staff members have been killed already. Backup was coming from various places in the academy. Teachers, students and security staff members were rushing towards the realm tunnels.
"Captain Kussa human reinforcements will be here in one minute," A female Vashin with red skin and a blue horn said. She carried a giant great sword that was covered in blood. Due to the humans finding out about their disguises, they stopped using them. The tall man before her stood at 2 meters tall he was clad in amazing-looking combat armor. His skin Is a deep red, he has black hair and red eyes.
But the most striking feature he had was the 2 horns extending from his forehead. They were a beautiful blue "That should be enough time to begin the process. Let's take these so-called realm tunnels back to our world." The man said with a deep voice. He exuded an aura of strength and authority and anyone who saw him would instantly recognise he wasn't normal.
In his right hand, the head of a human could be seen. He inspected it with a look of curiosity. "They look so much like us, don't they Marisa?" the female called Marisa nodded " Yes they do but they are nothing but weak barbarians," she said and walked away. She then sent a message to all other Vashin soldiers to commence with the plan.
She returned to her assigned realm tunnel and saw that her comrades had already dealt with most only 2 soldiers remained. Her gaze then landed on a particular Vashin. Unlike the rest, he was the only one with a white horn. This showed he was newly birthed. Yet even though he was so young he possessed impressive strength.
"I don't understand why the commander likes him so much." She said as she then reached the metallic rods and began activating them. "All of you finish them off the teleportation will take place in 40 seconds," Marisa ordered. The staff members that were left felt their hearts sink at her words.
…A few meters away from Marisa's fight Samuel laid in a pile of rubble. A few drones came out of his clothes and began circling him. They nudged his body as Sai's voice came from them. "Samuel got up. It's dangerous they will come at any time." The worry in her voice was clear. "You leave me a choice," she said as one of the drones zapped his body with just enough electricity to wake him up.
The boy grunted as he woke up. His glasses were surprisingly still on his face and perfectly fine. "Samuel get up you have to run away. The Vashins are nearing you." Sai's beautiful voice reached his ears "Sai is that you? Damn, it hurts everywhere " Samuel said in pain. He then remembered everything that happened. It had been around a minute since he fell unconscious. With his senses, he could feel the Vashin were still around. Luckily he was hidden by some rubble.
A tiny hologram of Sai appeared her worry was clearly shown on her face. "Samuel I won't lie to you. You're in a very bad situation. The realm tunnels are blocked off and if you stand up they will see you and kill you. And the biggest problem is that one of those Vashin seems to be looking for you. It's the one you exposed" Samuel extended his senses and used his full ability. Everything within 30 meters became completely clear including all objects. It is an enhanced state of clarity that he can only keep active for 1 hour. He sensed the corps of an academy staff near him. And the Vashin he least wanted to see was there in range.
Samuel didn't have time to ask how Sai knew that he exposed that Vashin "So yeah this is bad. I'm guessing my only way out is by either using your holograms as a distraction or teleporting to Nexus. Which I don't want to do" The drones then created holograms of rubble around him to keep Samuel fully hidden.
"Yes, I'll make a hologram of you. That will appear in the opposite direction from your location. It should distract him long enough for him to believe you escaped." Sai said "Do it" Samuel said. Just as they were about to act out their plan. A wave passed by Samuel and locked onto him. Sai had made some holographic rubble to his location. But it was useless now.
Samuel sensed the Vashin's vision on his body. "Crap Sai distract him," Samuel said as he ran towards the body of the staff member near him. Multiple holograms of robots appeared and attacked the Vashin. He summoned his Karna who changed from 2 daggers to guns. "Bang! Bang!..." he shot every hologram and quickly realized they weren't real.
"Hurry up 10 seconds and we're gone," said another Vashin. "I know, I got this" Thorez said as he ran through the holograms with no fear. When he passed their fake bodies a tiny drone appeared in front of him. Before he could process anything "Boom!" it exploded sending him flying a few meters away with serious burns even his armor was slightly damaged.
"Aah!" He roared in pain, his furious gaze landing on Samuel's body as he took the weapons of the staff member. Samuel then pointed a pistol at Thorez. He had a clear shot but a look of conflict appeared on his face. He had never killed anything before the thought of killing a person made him hesitate.
"That stupid idiot can't even take out one human," said another Vashin who took this opportunity to through an explosive at Samuel. "Samuel teleport now that explosive will kill you" Sai screamed through the drones as one of her drones intercepted the explosive 20 meters from Samuel. The drone and the explosive made contact with a metallic "Clink!".
"Boom!" a sonic boom was heard as a teacher could be seen flying towards their location with his Karna. Captain Kussa looked at the approaching teacher with a mocking gaze. They were too late. The rod's teleportation activated as every Vashin was covered by spatial energy even Thorez. It then dawned on Samuel and Sai why the Vashin had thrown such an explosive near their comrade. He wouldn't get caught in the explosion.
It was as if time had stopped for all on the battlefield. Samuel willed his Karna to life and commanded a teleportation. "Buzz!" a crackling sound was heard at that moment as the space within a kilometer radius warped. Samuel didn't know that the activation of his karna's teleportation at this time would cause his portal's energy to clash with the energies that were produced from the realm tunnels and those of the rods.
The rods worked by overpowering the spatial warping of the realm tunnels so they could teleport them away. Now that Samuel had opened a port to Nexus which produced a spatial energy that the other 2 couldn't compete with. This messed up the Vashin's teleportation. Many people in the 1k meter range got teleported due to this as well. All the 100 Vashin soldiers and the 14 surviving academy staff members plus a teacher and some other students that were in range.
"Boom!" The explosive that was meant to kill Samuel happened but all it hit was empty air. Samuel's senses were flooded by spatial energy and then he found himself crashing into solid earth. "Grunt" he grunted in pain as he stood up. He looked around him and was stunned. He found himself in a ruined city.
Collapsed buildings and corpses of various creatures surrounded him. " Sai are you there," Samuel called out and after a few seconds, 6 small drones floated out of his clothes. "I'm here with… you… There is massive interference… in this place but I should still …be able to help you" Sai's voice was slow and it cracked in many places. But her presence brought him comfort.
"Yeah, it's good that you're here with me. I think I'll need all the help I can get." Samuel said. But his senses were suddenly filled with a golden panel that read.
