Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – Newbie Gift Pack

[Ding! Newbie Gift Pack opened]

[Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Hongmeng Operating System 1.0]

[Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Hongmeng AI Chip]

[Congratulations to the host for obtaining Fingerprint Recognition Technology]

One alert after another rang out in Lu Haifeng's mind, each more exciting than the last. Though there were only three items in the gift pack, every single one was a cutting-edge masterpiece—precisely what he needed now.

"As expected of a golden finger. This is what a proper time traveler needs."

Looking at the rewards, he couldn't help but smile. The system tailored the starter items based on his situation—enough to keep his factory alive and give him a strong launching point.

The failed OEM order that led to the previous owner's collapse had involved a mobile phone production deal worth over ten million yuan. Enticed by a potential profit of tens of millions and backed by an acquaintance's referral, the original Lu had poured everything into it—even though the client had only paid a 10% deposit.

The betrayal came swiftly.

The client, a seemingly reputable company, breached the contract right after he'd stocked up on raw materials but before production began. The timing couldn't have been worse. If the factory had started production, the parts could have been salvaged in the booming phone market. But now, with no product and warehouses full of unused materials, the factory's cash flow was crippled.

Trying to salvage whatever he could, Lu had no choice but to sell off the raw stock—but even that wouldn't fetch reasonable prices. The entire affair had shattered the factory's chances of survival.

And that was when Lu Haifeng transmigrated into this body.

He brewed himself a cup of tea, trying to stay calm. But when he rechecked the system interface, he froze. He could choose how to extract the technologies.

"Instill directly into my brain?"

"Transfer to my computer?"

"Wait—is there also a research team included?"

"And they're 100% loyal?"

"This is it!"

Without hesitation, Lu selected the third option. He would get the technology, and a fully loyal team of elite researchers would come with it.

[Congratulations, host. The technical personnel will arrive within twelve hours. Please be prepared]

[Personnel data has been uploaded to your mind]

A wave of information surged into Lu's consciousness.

Whew, it's not as painful as I feared.

The profiles were impressive:

[Li Gang: 31, returned overseas scholar.]

[Expert in OS architecture and programming languages.]

[Lu Hong: 35, orphan, also returned from abroad.]

[Chip design specialist.]

[Sun Peng: 36, seasoned engineer.]

(Further expert staff were also included.)[1]

Lu Haifeng couldn't help but be amazed. These were elite talents, and the system had just given them to him.

He took a sip of tea, mind buzzing with possibilities. Since the team would arrive soon, he picked up the phone and called the Administration Department.

He hadn't even dug into the detailed specs of the tech yet, but he had caught a glimpse of the new phone's design and capabilities. It resembled his past's "iPhone 5"—the next big thing from a particularly famous brand. But here, that model hadn't been released yet.

Heh. I'm about to cut the line and intercept that future.

Right then, someone knocked on the office door.

"Come in."

It was Manager Zhang, head of the Production Department.

"President Lu, you were looking for me?"

Zhang Yu was a seasoned worker who had risen from technician to manager under Lu's father. His loyalty was solid, and he was the technical backbone of the former Huaxing Auto Parts Factory.

"Yes, let's talk over some tea."

Zhang sat down.

"President Lu, most of the workers are idle right now. What should we do?"

Lu smiled, pouring him a cup.

"Don't worry—you'll be busy soon. Very busy."

Zhang raised an eyebrow.

"Really?"

He had heard the rumors of the failed order. Deep down, he worried that the company was heading toward bankruptcy. Still, he asked no further questions.

"Of course it's true," Lu replied. "When the experts arrive tomorrow, and you see the tech we'll be working with, you'll understand—this factory isn't just going to survive. It's going to thrive."

Zhang nodded but remained reserved. He'd seen Lu overly confident before—right before the last disaster.

Lu didn't mind. He understood that until results appeared, he'd always be seen as the inexperienced young boss.

Just then, another knock came from the Administration Department.

"President Lu, Mr. Li Gang is at the front desk. He said he has an appointment."

Lu blinked in surprise.

So soon? Wasn't he supposed to arrive in twelve hours?

"Got it. Let him in—no, wait. I'll go greet him myself."

A smile played on his lips as he stood and walked out of the office.

If you're going to act, you should go all in.
