I even didn't know how to reflect.
But Jane'd smile grew wider "Hi, so you are Taylor's boyfriend?" She said and he smiled, looking at Taylor.
"Could only be me, The one and only." He said and Taylor giggled loudly.
"Aren't you happy for Taylor and me? Amelia." David said, I shuddered internally and swallowed what was in my throat.
"How could I not be happy for you, afterall Taylor is my friend and you are now her boyfriend, congratulations guys," I say and he smiled.
"You were right, baby. your friends are angels." He said, he leaned down and kissed her forehead.
I watched as Jane and Taylor fretted over David that I couldn't understand if they didn't know his reputation in school or was I the only one who knew it?
In this school, there were five people you could not cross and they were,
Edward Dolan,
David Yomi,
Sebastian Maurice,
Lee Ming and
Peter Daniels.
They were the school bad guys, no one was allowed to go close to them, they had a close circle. mess with one of them, you mess with all of them. which sums up my question, Why did Edward save me from Jenny?
Now all of a sudden, David is dating Taylor, not only was David a close friend with Sebastian and Edward, but he was also an unrepentant womanizer, he loves anything and everything under a skirt.
I sighed and looked at my friends who were discussing how they wanted their relationship to be.
'Are you serious, Taylor? David? you are dating David?' I blurted out.
"Yes, Is there a reason I can't date David?" She snapped back at me.
I sighed and looked at her "Taylor, you know the reputation he has in school, so why would you?." I say to her.
She scoffed and looked at Jane "I told you, I told you she would say something like this." She said and shook her head
"Why can't you be happy for me, Amelia. Why do you always have to behave like you are so perfect? David has a reputation but he isn't like that. This is high school and rumors get around as fast as a smoke." Taylor says, heaving heavily.
"I think you are misunderstanding me here, Taylor. I care about you so much and that is why am worried about your choice, not only is David close friends with Sebastian and Edward but he is also well known for being a playboy." I say but it was more like I was adding fire o a fire.
"Stop it already, what is wrong with you? are you allergic to being happy for me? why are you always opposed to my happiness? why do you want me to be like you? sad, angry, ugly, and totally unloved?" She yelled, attracting eyes our way.
My eyes stung with unshed tears, was that really what she thought of me?
"Taylor, I am jus--"
"Get out, stop trying to play perfect, you are not perfect! you should try to be happy for your friends, maybe you will be loved too." She snapped.
I stood up from the chair, glancing at Jane who just merely looked the other way. "Sorry," I whispered and walked out of the cafeteria, wiping the tear that fell onto my cheeks.
I had no idea that was what she thought of me, She or rather they both thought I tried to play perfect, they both felt I wasn't happy for them. I walked towards my locker, opening it, and brought out my school bag, taking my phone out of it too. I dialed Nana's numember and she picked it almost immediately.
"Amelia, baby..' She started
"Can I skip school for today, Nana? Please I would like to be at home and not in school." I say, wiping the tear that fell on my cheeks
'What's wrong Amelia.?" She asked me but I had nothing to say.
"Nana, please."
"Should I pick you up? " She asked, but I knew she understood the agony in my voice.
"I'll walk home, thank you, Nana," I say and cut the call, closing the locker and wore the school bag. I moved to walk out of the school but stopped seeing a familiar person standing in my way.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk." She said, walking closer to me with a smirk on her face
"Did your friends dessert you? how shameful, I knew no one in their right mind would actually want to be friends with you.' She said.
"Actually you know what Jenny, I could care less what you think, even if you voice out what you think, it still wouldn't get to me, seeing as your IQ is next to none. Do me a favor and shut the hell up." I snapped and walked out of the school.
I stood out there and inhaled the fresh air, It was normal for friends to fight right? It didn't mean the friendship was over. I shouldn't have spoken about David the way I did. I was partially at fault and I should've known better than to have done that.
Taylor might have spoken out of context but surely she couldn't think that about me, right?
"How does it feel?" I heard someone say behind me and I flinched, turning to look at the intruder.
'You?"
"Yes, me. were you expecting your friends to come here and apologize? grow up, Amelia." Sebastian says with a smirk on his face.
"Oh I should have known it could only be you, I'm sure you asked David to date Taylor just so you can get your revenge on me? Maybe you should take your own advice Sebastian and you should grow up." I say.
He chuckled "Is that what you think? Do you think you are worth my time and attention, you think you are worth my plots? I would never waste a second on you." He said.
"Well, that's rich, because you have been standing right in front of me for two minutes, fourteen seconds. If you still don't understand then here it is, you have wasted 2 minutes, 14 seconds on talking to me. which automatically proves I am worth your stupid plots and you also asked David to 'date' Taylor." I say, watching as anger flashed through his eyes.
" You think you are all that smart? you think you are untouchable but let me remind you just how your friends didn't waste a minute in embarrassing you in front of everyone at the cafeteria." He said.
" Well, there is something you might not know but is called, friendship fights. You can't understand that since you only have people you plot with. I have friends and it is absolutely common for friends to fight. It is normal for us to not agree on everything. it doesn't mean we are no longer friends, in fact, it just makes us stronger."
" I wouldn't want to waste your time anymore so I will leave, good day," I say and turned to leave but paused.
'Watch your back, Amelia." He says.
I turned to look at him but he was gone like he wasn't even here in the first place.
