Chapter 7
If the "Silver Bone" corresponds to the summoning system, the "Corpse curse" corresponds to the toxin system, and the "Wine spring" corresponds to the curse system, then the first wand purchased, the "Crimson Blood," is more akin to the effect of Sauron's One Ring controlling the other rings.
The four wands have already been stored in system space, and I just asked Ollivander about this wand in hand.
This wand is quite old and has slight damage, requiring delicate maintenance.
"Welcome to the my humble shop, how can I help you?" Ollivander has lost the memory of the earlier transaction and instinctively greeted the suddenly appearing customer.
"12 inches long, made of vine wood and snake heart string, a family truly fond of dark magic!"
Ollivander, like a fetishist, repeatedly touches the wand, completing the maintenance process under the disdain of Regulus.
Just as regulus exited Ollivander's wand shop, still undecided on where to go next, four Aurors suddenly descended from the sky.
"Expelliarmus!" The old wand was directly confiscated by the Aurors.
The reason for not using the newly bought wand and still holding onto this old one is that Regulus was surrounded.
Regulus Black could hear the shop door being locked behind him, and Ollivander was peeking from behind the door.
"Who are you?" Regulus stopped the attacking move of woman beside him and calmly inquired.
"State your identity, you are...?" The female Auror did not dare to relax at all; at the moment she received the information, she thought she was seeing things.
A Death Eater who should have vanished over a decade ago suddenly appears and is wandering in Diagon Alley.
After the fall of that unspeakable person, all exposed Death Eaters were captured; they were either sent to Azkaban for permanent detention or gained freedom through various under-the-table deals. Even now, those Death Eaters who escaped imprisonment remain under surveillance, but as time passes and with their own operations, people gradually forget their identities.
However, when a previously documented Death Eater, whose fate had been unknown for over a decade, reappears, it would definitely make headlines in the Daily Prophet if the Aurors did not take action.
"I am Regulus Black; I think you have the right person." Regulus Black's outwardly calm expression concealed his inner turmoil.
"Come with us, do not make any sudden moves; otherwise, I won't hesitate to cast a killing curse on you."
The Auror was a little nervous, agitated, and even a bit fearful. As a student back then in those haunted time, she was always protected by her family and had never encountered a real Death Eater. She had heard that they were cruel and would kill and eat their victims.
Well, those were just rumors.
Regulus slightly nodded in acknowledgment of her words and was escorted by the four Aurors to the Ministry of Magic.
"To be frank, you are not scary at all when you threaten people; in fact, it's somewhat cute!"
The Auror team temporarily detained Regulus in the dungeon on the tenth underground floor of the Ministry, while Kreacher was sent to the magical creature management control department on the fourth underground floor.
The female Auror was left flustered by his words, and amidst the quiet laughter of the other Aurors, she stomped her foot and turned to leave the dungeon.
Back in the office, Judy Fox was feeling quite unsettled. It was all that damned Death Eater's fault for being captured and still daring to tease her.
"Pure-blood families are really a headache! well I come from a pure-blood family too."
"Is being handsome so great? I'm quite beautiful as well."
Seeing colleagues passing by with suppressed laughter, Judy Fox grabbed a piece of paper, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it.
'I wonder how this cooperating Death Eater will be judged?' Judy felt inexplicably worried.
In the headmaster's office at Hogwarts, Dumbledore summoned Professor Minerva McGonagall.
"I have received a letter from the Ministry of Magic; I need to attend a trial at Wizengamot."
Dumbledore's expression was hesitant and puzzled; it seemed to McGonagall that he did not want to attend this trial.
"Albus, you seem troubled. Is there an issue with this trial?"
"Yes, Minerva, the Ministry has captured a long-missing Death Eater."
"Did the Death Eaters not already face judgment over a decade ago? Some were imprisoned in Azkaban, while others escaped judgment."
Professor Minerva McGonagall expressed her frustration at this point; those noble pure-blood wizards with status, wealth, and power had all managed to clear their names and evade judgment, still living freely in the wizarding world today. Meanwhile, others had betrayed their fellow Death Eaters in a dog-eat-dog fashion and thus gained amnesty.
"I am also puzzled by this; those who were believed to have died over a decade ago suddenly appearing at this time…."
Dumbledore felt that some things did not need to be said; Professor McGonagall would understand that Harry Potter was a new student enrolling this year.
"Albus, don't worry too much. I trust your judgment; rest assured, I will keep an eye on things here at the school."
Professor Minerva McGonagall tried to alleviate Dumbledore's concerns.
Dumbledore immediately set off, grabbing a handful of Floo powder from a box by the fireplace.
"Ministry of Magic!"
The Wizengamot was once again packed today. Since the fall of the Unmentionable over a decade ago, all the Death Eaters had been accounted for.
Those with means had escaped judgment, while those without background, support, or achievements could hardly avoid the fate of imprisonment.
In the past decade, those Death Eaters who had escaped judgment had kept a low profile, with many wizards even leaving Britain altogether.
Thus, from over a decade ago until now, the trials in the Wizengamot had mostly dealt with inconsequential minor cases. The qualified judges had never all been present, and the Wizengamot usually only had the minimum number of judges on duty.
When Dumbledore arrived, he found he was actually the last member to arrive. After giving a slight nod to familiar faces, Dumbledore took his seat.
Minister Fudge felt relieved upon Dumbledore's arrival. He knew that when he learned they had captured a Death Eater, he almost choked that squad of Aurors; he had only come into power after the war, and these past ten years had been smooth sailing—he did not want to die in office.
He treated all the Death Eaters as if they were the Unmentionable themselves.
"Since everyone is here, we can bring up the prisoner," Fudge said, as the Minister of Magic, presiding over this trial.
Under the watch of a group of four Aurors, Regulus Black stepped up to the stand.
"Why is the prisoner not shackled?" Fudge exclaimed, seeing Regulus Black moving freely, and panic set in.
This sense of panic even affected other wizards, with several drawing their wands.
Regulus said nothing and made no move, merely looking at the trembling Minister Fudge with a cold gaze.
After an awkward silence, Minister Fudge finally gathered the courage to face the stand again, unsure of who was really on trial.
Regulus scanned the room and nodded upon seeing Dumbledore, as a form of greeting. This only deepened Dumbledore's confusion; was the person before him truly the Regulus Black he knew?
"Please state your name for the record," the judge prompted.
"Regulus Black, formerly a Death Eater, and I just got resurrected yesterday."
