Chapter 21 - Here I Am

Just as Luo Shu was at a loss for what to do, a female D-class suddenly raised her hand.

"What is it?" a security officer asked.

The woman—the same one who "had a crush" on Luo Shu—replied, "I know where D-20915 is."

Luo Shu nearly teared up with gratitude.

"Well? Spit it out," the officer demanded.

She pointed to the cafeteria restroom. "I saw D-20915 go in there earlier. He never came out."

Brilliant!

When Luo Shu had entered the restroom earlier, he'd activated SCP-055's anti-meme ability and walked out unseen.

To everyone else, D-20915 had never left the restroom.

No one would've noticed—except the woman who "loved" him and the dead inmate who'd tried to kill him.

Seizing the opportunity, Luo Shu dashed into the restroom and locked himself in a stall.

Security swarmed in after him, surrounding the only closed stall.

"D-20915! Are you in there? Come out now!"

"Yeah, yeah! Give me a minute! I'm constipated!" Luo Shu shouted back.

He knew that as long as the anti-meme effect lasted, they wouldn't truly register him.

But security, operating on autopilot, kept repeating the same demand.

Luo Shu kept repeating the same excuse.

Finally—

"Screw your constipation! Come out or we shoot!"

Thank god.

The anti-meme had worn off.

"Okay, okay! I'm coming!"

He opened the door, greeted by multiple gun barrels—and felt weirdly comforted.

Being ignored was worse.

Wait… since when did I enjoy having guns pointed at me?

Since Site-19's restrooms had no windows or vents, security checked the hallway cameras, confirming Luo Shu hadn't left.

His alibi held.

Meanwhile, Nine-Tailed Fox's sweep of B3 and B4 turned up nothing.

Even Wheeler's search of B5 was fruitless.

The "intrusion" was dismissed as inconclusive.

No damage. No casualties (aside from two D-class).

No signs of Chaos Insurgency or other hostile groups.

The Director filed a report to the O5 Council and dropped the matter.

The most frustrated was the bearded commander—the only one who'd directly engaged the intruder.

Without the camera footage, they'd have assumed he was memetically compromised.

Even with proof, he was suspended for psych evaluations.

The only person who understood the truth?

Dr. Marian Wheeler.

But the Anti-Meme Division worked alone.

She couldn't share her findings—not even with the Site Director, who didn't know she existed.

Unless she took a lethal Z-Class mnestic, she couldn't fully recall the intruder's face.

And even if she did, who would believe her?

So she replayed the footage, studying the orange-clad figure.

Something about him felt familiar.

Her enhanced memory kicked in.

I've seen him before.

The only D-class she'd interacted with recently: Luo Shu.

She returned to the cafeteria, shadowing him silently.

The build matched.

The movements matched.

And the intruder had vanished near B5—a zone only she and Luo Shu could access.

Too coincidental.

Then there was the SCP-173 connection—the intruder had teleported, just like the statue.

Her hand tightened around her pistol.

Is he another anti-meme, like the ones targeting O5-8?

Do I eliminate him now?
