Luoshu's first target was SCP-082 - "Fernand the Cannibal".
This self-proclaimed French "king" happened to be Stubborn Six's neighbor.
As one of the few Euclid-class anomalies in Area-14, this "monarch" was quite an interesting character.
According to Foundation documentation:
He loved singing and cosplay.
His grotesque appearance clashed with his artistic temperament.
He was charming, polite, and friendly—until he bit someone's head off mid-conversation.
He could detect lies but was a compulsive liar himself.
He couldn't distinguish reality from fiction, fully immersed in the fabricated world the Foundation created for him.
Fernand was contained in Area-14 because only here could the Foundation build him a full-scale replica of the Palace of Fontainebleau, allowing him to indulge in his delusion of being a French king.
Luoshu chose SCP-082 as his first nighttime visit for two reasons:
It was on the way.
Sheer curiosity.
After final preparations, Luoshu embarked on his first Area-14 midnight excursion.
Driving his electric cart down the path marked SCP-082, he traveled another kilometer before the scenery abruptly transformed.
A golden Renaissance-style gate barred the road ahead.
Beyond it lay manicured lawns, an artificial lake mimicking the "Seine River," and a glittering palace—an exact replica of Fontainebleau.
To enhance Fernand's immersion, the unit's walls and ceiling were lined with high-def LED screens, projecting distant landscapes and a starry sky.
(Even the staff dormitories in Area 51 didn't have this luxury.)
A "full moon" hung in the simulated night sky.
How long has it been since I last saw the real moon? Luoshu wondered. Months? Half a year?
He couldn't help but sneer at the Foundation's logic.
The "P" in SCP stood for "Protect."
So were they protecting humanity or the anomalies?
What was the point of safeguarding a creature that contributed nothing to the world—and occasionally ate people?
Why spend a fortune building him a palace?
Shouldn't protecting human lives come first?
The Foundation's values reminded Luoshu of the post-pandemic New World government—prioritizing absurdities over survival.
How twisted can a society be?
Shaking off his thoughts, Luoshu used his Master Key ability to unlock the golden gate and enter the palace grounds.
A D-class personnel, disguised as a gardener, was trimming the hedges. After getting directions, Luoshu headed straight for the banquet hall.
Passing through corridors adorned with exquisite frescoes, he arrived at his destination.
Fernand sat alone at the head of a long dining table, feasting on an extravagant meal.
Behind him stood a row of D-class actors playing butlers, maids, and footmen—all visibly terrified. No one knew when the "king" might snap and devour someone.
Luoshu stepped forward. "Greetings, Your Majesty."
Fernand finally noticed Luoshu (thanks to his antimemetic resistance).
With a puzzled expression, he asked, "Who might you be? A guest for tonight's banquet? Please, join me!"
His grotesque face clashed hilariously with his refined manners.
Luoshu had no intention of dining—who knew if human flesh was on the menu?
"No need for hospitality, Your Majesty. I am a traveler from afar and wish to tour Fontainebleau."
His goal was simple: lure Fernand beyond the golden gate, trigger a containment breach, then return him—completing the Anomalous Item Compendium entry.
"A traveler?" Fernand studied Luoshu's face before suddenly brightening. "Ah! You must be an envoy from the Tang Dynasty of the East!"
...Are you serious?
The Tang Dynasty fell in 907 AD, while Fontainebleau was built in 1137 AD. Even if Fernand believed himself to be Louis VI, that would align with the Song Dynasty.
Before Luoshu could correct him, Fernand cheerfully quoted:
"As your people say, 'Is it not a joy to have friends come from afar?' Sit, my Eastern friend! I insist on hosting you properly!"
He ordered the "servants" to prepare tableware for Luoshu.
Dining with a cannibal? Hard pass.
But Luoshu noted Fernand's literary reference—the cannibal was surprisingly cultured.
Since he'd invoked The Analects, Luoshu seized the opportunity.
"Your Majesty, does that mean you consider me a friend?"
"Of course! I, the hospitable King of France, and you, an envoy from the distant Tang Dynasty—we must be friends!"
Perfect.
Luoshu quickly checked the Anomalous Item Compendium—the SCP-082 page had updated.
This French "king" had volunteered as an Anomalous Friend without coercion.
Tonight's excursion was proceeding smoother than expected.
The compendium's title page now showed:
[Anomalous Friends Milestone: 6/10]
This might be the first milestone to level up.
But the real prize was Fernand's abilities.
Flipping to the last page, Luoshu scanned the entry—then froze in disbelief.

When he reached the "Abilities" section, his eyes widened.
"What kind of power is this?!"
