The puppy instantly became much cuter.
After getting Chen Ye's assurance, Happy turned and left the Good Luck Restaurant.
"Dog, get ready to work. Leave this thing with you for now, and make sure to sniff it well over the next couple of days. We're counting on you to find our golden sponsor," Chen Ye said, picking up a box and walking towards the dog Deadpool.
At that moment, a hot desert wind blew, pulling Chen Ye back to reality, bringing with it a dry sensation.
"By the way, aren't you hot in that tight suit, Wade?" Chen Ye teased, looking at Deadpool beside him, who seemed to be wilting with his arms hanging down.
"Shut up, it's my style, you wouldn't understand. Hurry up, I'm really about to die from the heat. Damn it, I want a raise!" Deadpool said weakly.
"I'm the one having the worst time, okay? Why am I the one carrying such a big backpack? Why aren't you guys carrying it? This is discrimination," Pietro grumbled, wearing goggles and carrying a large backpack.
"This is training for you. Look at how weak you are; you need some good weight training. No using your superpowers, Pietro.
We should be near the site where Tony Stark went missing. I estimate we're not far from our destination," Chen Ye said calmly, looking the most relaxed among them.
"I can refrain from using my superpowers, but why aren't we driving? How long are we supposed to walk across this huge desert?" Pietro questioned, his voice filled with existential angst.
...
Meanwhile, in a cave somewhere in the Afghan desert, not far from Chen Ye and his group, Tony Stark was studying blueprints in a cave that no equipment could detect. Next to him was a miniaturized arc reactor.
A Mediterranean-looking man with glasses, Ethan, observed the small reactor and asked, "This isn't a Jericho missile, is it?"
Without looking up, Tony Stark replied, "Because it's a miniaturized ARC reactor."
"I have a large one at home, specifically for powering my factory."
"It should be enough to keep the shrapnel at bay."
Ethan curiously asked, "How much power does it provide? Enough for your heart?"
Tony Stark answered, "Plenty, more than enough."
"Stop staring at the reactor and look at these blueprints. They're the key to our escape," Tony Stark said, pointing to the blueprints he had been focused on.
Ethan hurriedly stepped forward, picked up the blueprints, and studied them seriously.
After a while, unable to understand, he asked, "What is this? It looks a bit like a robot?"
Tony Stark rearranged the blueprints and said, "Close, take another look."
A design of an iron suit appeared before them.
"Wow, genius idea," Ethan couldn't help but exclaim.
At that moment, in Ethan's eyes, Tony Stark was glowing with the light of knowledge.
Then, remembering they were still under surveillance, he instinctively lowered his voice.
"I need your help, Ethan," Tony Stark said earnestly in a low voice.
"I could assemble it myself, but it would take a long time. Clearly, these guys don't intend to give us that much time. So I need your help."
Ethan hesitated after hearing this, "We can't let them find out. If they do, the consequences are obvious. I can help you, but what about the materials?"
"Simple," Tony Stark said, then walked towards the door and spoke to the masked armed men.
"I want to see your general. I'm willing to help them make missiles, provided they prepare the materials I need."
Ethan looked at Tony Stark in front of him and couldn't help but marvel at the genius before him, who could remain calm and find a solution even in such adversity.
Only a genius of this caliber could survive in such dire circumstances, and he felt fortunate to be locked up with this genius.
Perhaps they really could escape. Ethan couldn't help but fantasize.
At night, Tony Stark and Yinsen were playing chess.
"You haven't told me where you're from," Tony Stark asked.
Yinsen, focused on the chessboard and holding a die in his right hand, replied, "A small town in Gomira, it's a pretty nice place."
"Do you have a family?" Tony Stark continued.
"Yes, once I leave here, I'll go see them. What about you, Stark?" Yinsen answered.
Tony Stark paused, looked at Yinsen, then pursed his lips, picked up a piece, and placed it on the board, answering with a heavy heart, "I don't have a family."
"None?" Yinsen confirmed, glancing at Tony Stark's expression, then nodded and said, "So, you have everything."
"But also nothing."
Tony Stark listened, lowered his head, and gave a helpless smile, looking at Yinsen without speaking.
A loud "boom" interrupted their conversation.
The two exchanged glances, and Tony Stark immediately put a finger to his lips, signaling Yinsen to be quiet.
They began to listen carefully.
Outside, faintly, they could hear, "Enemy attack, there's an enemy! Eliminate the enemy."
"Rat-a-tat... rat-a-tat," they also heard sounds resembling gunfire and explosions.
"Where are you, Stark?" they heard a voice calling out.
They also heard music playing.
"It seems like someone's here to rescue you. Looks like you're not completely without people who care about you. But... why do I hear music? Am I hearing it wrong?" Yinsen smiled, looking at Tony Stark.
"Maybe," Tony Stark shrugged, immediately thinking of Pepper Potts.
Indeed, on the other side, it was Chen Ye and his group with a dog.
The story began half an hour earlier.
"Woof... there's a strong scent of living people in the valley ahead," Dog Deadpool suddenly said, pointing towards the valley.
"Looks like the armed group's base is ahead. Let's push forward; I don't want to spend the night here," Chen Ye said.
"Damn, we finally found them. Made us search all over! We must show them the power of Lord Deadpool. Another day here, and I'll be cooked!" Deadpool said, pulling out his twin swords and twirling them.
"Everyone stay put, just watch me perform!"
"Let's speed up, I'll go ahead first." Quicksilver couldn't wait, putting on his goggles. Clearly, spending a day in the desert wasn't enjoyable, completely forgetting Chen Ye's request not to use superpowers.
With a "whoosh," Quicksilver disappeared.
Seeing Quicksilver vanish, Chen Ye took out a pair of goggles from his coat and said, "See you in a bit," to Deadpool and Dog Deadpool, then used his superpowers to go ahead.
Leaving Deadpool and Dog Deadpool staring at each other.
"Take us with you! Damn it, why don't I have such convenient powers?" "Woof!"
Deadpool, frustrated, threw his swords to the ground, stomped on them, and complained.
Seeing no response, they had no choice but to pick up the swords and quickly catch up with the others.
Ten minutes later, a panting Deadpool and Dog Deadpool saw two figures ahead, each leaning against a rock, holding a bottle of Coke in their right hands, chatting leisurely.
