Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Marvel Universe, Non-Sacred Timeline

In the Big Apple, in a seven-story apartment building in Hell's Kitchen, the ground floor has been converted into a restaurant.

Above the wooden door of the restaurant hangs a Chinese sign that reads "Good Fortune." Below the sign is a banner with the words "Business is Booming." On either side of the door hang red lanterns, a hallmark of Chinese culture. Beneath the lanterns lies a brown dog with a disfigured face, wearing a red eye mask.

"Chen, is it ready yet? I'm starving here," said a man in a red tight-fitting jumpsuit and a red eye mask, slumped over a table.

"Rush, rush, rush. You don't even pay, and you're so demanding. Keep it up, and you won't get any food, Wade," replied a tall, muscular young Asian man with short black hair, carrying dishes from the kitchen.

The young man placed the dishes in front of the man with the glowing eyes behind the red mask. Yes, the man in the red eye mask is none other than Deadpool, Marvel's most notorious anti-hero.

The young man then turned to a white-haired youth standing behind the bar and said, "Pietro, bring out the rest of the dishes from the kitchen."

The white-haired youth made an "OK" gesture with his left hand and put on goggles with his right. In the next second, he was sitting next to Deadpool, pouring a soda, with four dishes and a soup already laid out on the table.

"Wow, Pietro, no matter how many times I see your powers, they're always so convenient. If I had your powers, I'd definitely take a few laps around the bank," Wade exclaimed dramatically.

"Alright, enough chatter, Wade. Wanda's busy today, so the three of us will eat first," the young Asian man said, just as Deadpool and Pietro began devouring the food voraciously.

Watching the two eat so ravenously, the young man's thoughts began to drift. His name is Chen Ye, and he's been in the Marvel world for twenty-three years, living in Hell's Kitchen. His late father died in a gang fight, leaving him a seven-story apartment building. Chen just graduated from college a year ago.

Now, he runs a restaurant and occasionally takes on part-time jobs. He met Deadpool during one of these jobs, and due to a system quirk, Deadpool ended up with room and board at his apartment.

Yes, as everyone knows, a system is a standard feature for a transmigrator. Without one, surviving twenty-two years in Marvel, especially in Hell's Kitchen, would be impossible.

Chen Ye's system is a Friend System. As long as someone acknowledges him as a friend, he can randomly receive rewards from them, including money, attributes, items, and superpowers. By increasing friendship levels, he can gain more attributes and additional rewards.

As for Wanda and her brother, he saved them during a mission. Considering they had nowhere to go, he temporarily gave them a place to stay. In case the Battle of New York breaks out, they can help guard the place. Otherwise, if the apartment gets destroyed, his dream of being a landlord would be shattered.

Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind.

"Ding,"

"Congratulations, host! Wade Winston Wilson's friendship level has increased to three stars!"

"Attribute acquired: Healing Factor."

"Would you like to merge now?"

The system prompt sounded.

Finally, he had unlocked the Healing Factor. Now he wouldn't have to worry about being cannon fodder in the Marvel universe, Chen Ye thought to himself.

"System, I remember in the original story, Deadpool could adapt to the healing factor because he had cancer. If I merge with it, will I just drop dead?"

"Rest assured, host. The system will handle all discrepancies. Please don't underestimate it."

"Then let's start the fusion."

"Fusion commencing!"

As soon as the words were spoken, Chen Ye felt a tremor through his body, with countless cells changing in bizarre ways.

Moments later, Chen Ye slowly opened his eyes.

Wade paused for a moment, casting a slightly puzzled glance at Chen Ye.

He shook his head and continued shoveling food into his mouth.

Chen Ye felt an unprecedented strength coursing through his body.

"System, open the panel."

[Name: Chen Ye]

[Race: Human]

[Skills: Combat Techniques lv10, Healing Factor, Physique lv10, Quick Movement lv2, Chaos Magic lv1, Driving Mastery lv3, Reflexes lv7, Swordsmanship lv5, Marksmanship lv3, Beast Language lv4, Cooking lv5, Lockpicking lv3, Robbery lv2, Five-Finger Discount lv3...]

[System Evaluation: You're no longer a weakling. You can barely go toe-to-toe with Captain America, but if you encounter Thanos, please immediately kneel and beg for mercy.]

Chen Ye's initial smugness quickly dissipated after reading the panel.

He wondered whether the Thanos of this universe was the Emperor Thanos or the movie version. The movie version would be easier to handle.

If it were Emperor Thanos, it wouldn't just be half the universe's life at stake. He'd wipe out the entire universe, including himself, just to make Death smile—a true ultimate simp.

So, as they say, simps don't get houses. But there's still time; I haven't even cleared the Hell's Kitchen mission yet, and our Tony Stark hasn't become Iron Man.

Before that, I need to make more friends and try to make them my family sooner.

I want to become the Marvel Family Man.

It's a pity, if I weren't afraid of the Ancient One seeing through me as a time traveler, I would have already gone to Kamar-Taj to befriend him.

I wonder if the Ancient One in this timeline is a bald man or a bald woman.

If all else fails, there's always America Chavez or Cable. If I had the ability to traverse parallel universes, I could make friends across different timelines.

Then I could punch the God of Stories Loki, stomp on Emperor Thanos, and make Death kneel and sing "Conquered."

Suddenly, Wade, having eaten his fill, interrupted Chen Ye's fantasies, picking his teeth with a toothpick in one hand and rubbing his belly with the other: "There's a big job coming up. What do you say, want to join in, Chen?"

"How big of a job, and what's the mission? You know I'm picky about missions," Chen Ye replied, annoyed at being interrupted.

"It's not a hit on black folks, it's a rescue mission this time," Wade continued.

"Sometimes I think you're really twisted, Chen. You always point a gun at black guys asking if they're friends, and after they answer, you kill them. You know, a lot of African-American mercenaries out there have a big problem with you, saying you're a racist Chinese."

Chen Ye rolled his eyes and said, "Come on, I'm just purifying the world. Those guys do nothing but shoplift and bully innocent girls. As their good friend, I'm just sending them to heaven early. Leaving them here is a waste of resources. I call it doing a good deed."

"Fifty million dollars," Wade exaggeratedly gestured with five fingers.

Hearing such a huge reward, Chen Ye couldn't help but be taken aback.

The largest job Chen Ye had ever taken was five million, not even a fraction of this.

With a price tag of fifty million, if it weren't a rescue mission, Chen Ye would have thought it was an assassination attempt on the president.

"Who's the target of this rescue?"

Chen Ye's expression turned serious, realizing this mission might not be so simple.

Wade pointed to the TV, which was broadcasting,

"Globally renowned industrialist, playboy, billionaire Tony Stark is missing. Initial reports suggest Stark disappeared during a private trip, causing Stark Industries' stock to plummet."

"So it's Tony Stark, the murderer. I'm not taking this job. Serves him right if he's dead, arms dealer," Pietro from next door stood up excitedly and said.
