Chapter 2 - Chapter 002: Instant Kill

"It's pirates!!"

Revy was thrown onto the bed by the impact. Seeing the flames raging outside the door, her face changed drastically as she flipped over and got up.

She hadn't expected that her peaceful life of five years would once again be shattered.

She jumped off the bed, bent down, and pulled out a box from under it. From inside, she took out a strange-looking belt.

She fastened the belt tightly around her waist and secured the pouches on her thighs.

A matchlock gun?

Seeing the mist lingering around Revy's long legs, Kisame Hoshigaki couldn't help but pause.

As a shinobi from the Hidden Mist, he had seen such weapons before in the daimyo's army of the Land of Water.

Although the ones Revy carried were smaller and more compact, she was certain they were matchlock guns.

"Mama… Mama… Waaa…"

Just as She finished gearing up, the cries of a child came from outside. Without hesitation, she rushed out of the room.

Kisame hesitated for a moment before stepping out as well.

Fire.

Towering flames lit up half the sky.

Under the scorching heat waves, the entire town was engulfed in thick smoke and flames. Everywhere, terrified civilians ran for their lives.

"Waaa… Waaah…"

Not far from them, a child was crying, their face covered in snot. Their legs scrambled against the ground as they retreated in fear, staring ahead with tear-filled eyes.

"Hahaha…"

A filthy, ragged thug with yellowed teeth laughed wildly, watching the child's fear and struggle with sadistic delight.

Slowly, he unsheathed the long blade at his waist and took slow, deliberate steps toward the child.

What kind of world is this?

The scene before him made Kisame furrow his brow.

He admitted he wasn't a good person. To prevent mission leaks, he had personally killed teammates multiple times. But he had never done something so heinous—something that would enrage even the heavens.

Revy had told him this world was chaotic.

But he hadn't expected its people to be so cruel.

Could it be that only the world of Infinite Tsukuyomi was truly perfect?

Would the Moon's Eye Plan work in this world?

As soon as the thought surfaced, Kisame crushed it in an instant.

Even if this world allowed it—even if it were possible—he alone didn't have the power to make it happen…

"Bastard… Stop right there!"

A sudden, sharp shout interrupted Kisame's thoughts.

Looking up, he saw Revy leap forward like a nimble rabbit, soaring several meters high. While in midair, she drew her guns and fired in one fluid motion.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Muzzle flashes flared as bullets, too fast for the naked eye to see, shot out.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The bullets tore through the thug's body. His face was filled with shock as he turned to look at her , still suspended in the air. Then, with a heavy thud, his body collapsed before the terrified child.

"Waaah!!"

The child's cries grew louder as the thug's blood splattered onto their face, their small body trembling uncontrollably.

Bang!

The gunshot rang out, and the child's cries were abruptly silenced. Their blood-stained, innocent face froze in place.

The fear in their young eyes gradually faded as their small body slumped backward. From the gaping hole in the back of their head, red and white matter slowly oozed out…

"Bastard!"

She hadn't expected that the child she had just saved would be killed in the next instant. Rage surged within her, like a furious little lion, as her sharp eyes darted around in search of the attacker.

Bang! Bang!

Gunshots fired again. She instinctively dodged, then immediately locked onto the shooter's position. Without hesitation, she raised both guns, her face ice-cold, and fired back in a relentless counterattack.

Amidst the raging fire, her swift and graceful silhouette exchanged gunfire with the enemy lurking in the shadows.

Revy's marksmanship was exceptional, and her agility even more so. She dodged the hidden sniper's bullets with perfect timing.

But unfortunately, her strength lay in ranged combat. Against close-combat attackers, she had little means of defense.

"Hahaha… I didn't expect to find such a beauty in this rundown town!"

Before long, Revy was struck by an attack and sent flying. She landed hard, struggling to get up, only to find herself pinned down under the boot of a grinning thug.

His narrow eyes gleamed with greed as he scanned Revy's exposed outfit without the slightest attempt to hide his thoughts.

"Bastard! Don't let me get the chance, or I'll blow your balls off!"

Revy glared at him, feeling the malice in his gaze, and cursed furiously.

"Blow off? No, no…"

"I think it'd be much better used on you!"

"Hahaha!"

Hearing Revy's angry outburst, the thug only laughed even louder, his expression growing even more depraved.

As he chuckled, he crouched down, his rough hand trailing up Revy's long leg.

"Tsk tsk… So firm… and so smooth…"

"You bastard! Get your hands off me!"

Feeling the vile touch creeping up her leg, She struggled violently. She might dress revealingly, but she was no cheap woman.

However, her resistance didn't stop the thug. If anything, it only made his laughter more savage.

"Hahaha… Struggle all you want! I like it when they fight back!"

His coarse hands climbed further up her thigh, inching toward—

Revy's heart filled with despair. Just as hopelessness consumed her, a calm, almost detached voice cut through the moment.

"Need some help?"

The sudden voice startled the thug.

"Who's there?!"

He turned abruptly to find a tall figure standing beside him—one who had appeared without a sound.

"From the Land of Water… a rogue ninja of the Hidden Mist… Kisame Hoshigaki."

Kisame's shark-like eyes stared down at the thug, utterly devoid of emotion.

"Kisame! Run! This guy is strong!"

Revy's dark eyes widened in shock. A sudden realization struck her, and she shouted desperately.

Kisame's power had surprised her before. But compared to the ruthless pirates before them, she doubted even he could stand a chance.

Rather than both of them dying, it was better if at least one of them could escape.

"Heh… You still have the time to worry about someone else at a moment like this?"

Revy's response caught Kisame off guard. He thought to himself—what a strange little girl.

Kind-hearted… She reminds me of Itachi.

As they spoke, more than a dozen fierce-looking thugs emerged from the shadows, their eyes filled with bloodlust.

Seeing this, Revy's despair only deepened. She looked at Kisame with guilt.

"I'm sorry… I dragged you into this."

"No."

"You saved me… You reminded me what it feels like to enjoy being alive."

"I think it's time I return the favor."

Kisame's mouth curled into a cold, eerie grin.

His laughter grew darker and colder as he scanned his surroundings. His shark-like eyes were utterly indifferent—looking at the gang of thugs as if they were already dead.

"I don't know the details of this place… but killing them shouldn't be a problem, right?"

"Hahaha! This big idiot must be crazy!"

Hearing Kisame's words, the surrounding thugs burst into laughter, mocking him without a care.

But what they didn't know was that the "big idiot" they were ridiculing was a man feared as a monster in another world.

Kisame remained unfazed by their jeers. His cold, predatory gaze shifted slightly, locking onto the thug pinning her down.

"Bastard… What the hell is with that look in your—"

Bang!

Before the thug could finish his sentence, a dull, heavy impact rang in Revy's ears. A gust of wind, mixed with shattered debris, struck her face.

The sharp sting on her skin made her instinctively shut her eyes.

When she opened them again, her expression froze.

Her large, black eyes stared in shock at the shark-faced man in front of her.

From the corner of her vision, she saw it—the thug who had been pressing down on her was now lying motionless, his head crushed into the ground beneath Kisame's grip.

"H-He took him down in one hit…?"

"That guy… He actually killed him in a single blow?!"
