Chapter 22 - The Guilds &The World Bank

After giving Vegapunk enough time to recover from the shocking truth, Juno said, "Let's cross the navy. Even if the World Government lost its mind and ordered the Navy to eliminate all pirates, they wouldn't be able to pull it off."

He turned to the computer and addressed Tera. "Tera, using the existing data, what's the number of the navy and pirates?"

Tera responded almost immediately, "...Calculating... Navy Personnel: 13.8 million... Pirates: 37.5 million."

Juno nodded while looking at the numbers. "Even with Tera's help, the Navy still wouldn't stand a chance."

Vegapunk agreed, "Yes, and even if all pirates are killed, as long as the cycle that the World Government set up remains, pirates will continue to appear."

Juno said, "Yes, that's why we need to take a different approach to solve this problem." He turned to Vegapunk and asked, "Have you ever heard of bounty hunters?"

Vegapunk responded, "Yes, bounty hunters are people who hunt pirates for money and sometimes take on jobs from the underworld. I've even used them in the past to transport research materials. Do you want to use them to kill pirates?"

Juno shook his head, smiling mysteriously. "Of course not, but the system I envision will work in a similar way, where people take on tasks for money."

Vegapunk raised an eyebrow, "Make people work for money? That's a good idea, but if it's just that, then we'd only be like the World Government issuing bounties. And for some powerful pirates, bounty hunters won't be able to kill them. Plus, we don't have enough money to issue bounties that would make a difference."

Juno pretended to be mysterious again. "Who said we will use bounty hunters and issue bounties ourselves?"

Vegapunk looked at him, confused. "Then what will we use?"

Juno said, "I told you, I want to change the world. But to do that, the two of us can't do it alone. The navy can't do it either. Only if the whole world is doing it, then we can make real change."

Vegapunk still seemed skeptical. "But how?"

Juno smiled. "That's what I've been planning for this year. I thought of many ways, and in the end, I found the best way to unite the world and get every person to contribute to making change." He added, "To get people hooked, I thought of several ways: Make it rewarding – tasks should pay well; exclusive perks – like better transportation using Doors 🚪, powerful weapons; and prestige & influence – in this sea, some people become pirates for the wanted attention, and Netra is the best platform for that."

Vegapunk nodded. "That's a good way, but why did you include pirates in the mix?"

Juno said, "I've told you how many pirates are forced into this life. If there's a way out for them, wouldn't they choose it? Of course, if we use pirates, we'll need a way to monitor them and ensure they don't misuse Tera's help for malicious purposes."

Vegapunk agreed. "Yes, I agree. Everyone needs to be monitored."

Juno said, "Yes, and I already have a way to do it. But let's focus on the system I will use first. The system will be called 'Guilds.'"

Vegapunk repeated, "Guilds?"

Juno nodded. "Yes, I want people all over the world to create or join Guilds and use those Guilds to change the world."

Vegapunk raised an eyebrow. "All people?"

Juno smiled. "Yes, all people. Let's not worry about how to change the world just yet. First, the world needs to be safe. And do you think pirates are the only roadblocks? No. Compared to pirates, I despise child traffickers, slave traders, gangs, organ traffickers, terrorist groups, extremists, abusers, violent thugs, corrupt businessmen, and exploitative companies even more."

Vegapunk thought for a moment before speaking. "If we can get rid of those, the world would be a much better place. But how will we classify those Guilds? After all, the people we can fight against are a small number. Don't you think that scientists need to fight, too?"

Juno nodded. "Of course, I thought about that. I've classified people who can fight in Combat Guilds, but there are other Guild categories as well. Because our ultimate goal is to change the world. Even killing all those pests will only make the world safe, but it won't truly change it. With safety, the fields that will really change the world are science, technology, medicine, education, business, and many other professions."

Juno paused, then added, "Tera, list all Guild Categories."

Tera quickly responded, "Okay, sir. Here are the Guild Categories:"

📜 Guild Categories:

Combat Guilds ⚔️ – Hunting criminals, defending islands, training warriors.

Commerce Guilds 💰 – Trade, business management, finance, and economic growth.

Science Guilds 🔬 – Advancing technology, energy, and medicine.

Crafting Guilds 🛠️ – Weapons, shipbuilding, engineering, and unique inventions.

Exploration Guilds 🏴‍☠️ – Mapping new islands, discovering resources, and navigating dangerous waters.

Information Guilds 👁️ – Gathering intelligence, selling information on Netra.

Medical Guilds 🏥 – Healthcare, pharmaceuticals, healing techniques, and biological research.

Education Guilds 📚 – Teaching, training, research, and knowledge preservation.

Legal Guilds ⚖️ – Law enforcement, dispute resolution, and governance support.

Entertainment Guilds 🎭 – Music, acting, storytelling, and other forms of public entertainment.

Construction Guilds 🏗️ – Building infrastructure, fortifications, and urban development.

Communication Guilds 📡 – News, broadcasting, journalism, and public relations.

Social Services Guilds 🏛️ – Charity, welfare, public service, and humanitarian aid.

Hospitality Guilds 🍽️ – Restaurants, lodging, event planning, and tourism.

Agriculture Guilds 🌾 – Farming, fishing, and environmental conservation.

Transportation Guilds 🚢 – Logistics, shipping, and global supply chains."

Tera then asked, "Sir, would you like to refine any of these or add more subcategories?"

Juno didn't respond immediately, but turned to Vegapunk. "Father, what do you think of these Guilds? Can we change the world with them?"

Vegapunk looked at the screen, reading the Guild Categories with gleaming eyes, his breath growing quick with excitement. "Yes, with these, I believe we can change the world. Not only that, we can make the world move forward." Vegapunk looked more and more excited as he spoke, the weight of the plan finally dawning on him.

Juno, sensing his father's enthusiasm, smiled knowingly. This was just the beginning, and together, they would change the world.

Once Vegapunk calmed down, he asked, "Juno, how do we solve the funding problem?"

Juno smiled, confident in his plan. "First, let me introduce you to Net-Coin (or NC for short). This is a virtual currency issued by the World Bank, and it will be run by Tera."

Vegapunk looked puzzled. "Net-Coin? Is this why you were studying economics and finance? Is this why you kept asking the base scientists to upload economics and finance books to Tera?"

Juno nodded. "Yes, at first, I thought of using Berries as the currency of Netra. But after I asked Tera to run a test on how the guilds would function and their impact on the world, Tera reported that some countries would collapse, and some would not be able to post quests. When I asked why, I realized the cause was Berries."

He paused for a moment, then asked Tera to show the economic data of various countries. After reviewing the data, Juno turned to Vegapunk. "Look, father. In countries around the world, the value of Berries is unstable. This happens because some countries issue their own currency and only use Berries as a means to pay the World Government with equivalent resources. Some countries are rich, so the value of Berries falls, while others are poor, causing the value of Berries to skyrocket. For example, in one country, an egg costs 20 Berries, but in another, the same egg could cost 200 Berries. That's why using Berries will only lead to the destruction of weaker economies."

Vegapunk nodded slowly, understanding the problem. "I see. That's why you want to use a new currency. But how will you get people to accept this currency? We're not the World Government."

Juno was ready for the question. "Of course, there are three important reasons."

Vegapunk looked curious. "What are they?"

Juno's voice became confident. "Father, Net-Coin isn't just another currency. It's the future of global finance, and it offers a level of stability and trust that no other currency can.

First, it solves the issue of economic disparity between nations. Right now, if you're in a rich, developed country, you can buy a product for a reasonable price, say 20 Berries. But in a poorer nation, the same product might cost 100 or even 1000 Berries. With Tera and Netra, I can ensure that Net-Coin will have the same value everywhere. The data collected from around the world will allow us to issue a currency that adjusts to the economic needs of each country, keeping its value stable and fair. But it's not just about countries—it also empowers individuals. Farmers, for example, can sell their resources, whether it's food, metal, or even knowledge, directly to the World Bank in exchange for Net-Coin. This ensures that no matter where you are or what you do, you have access to a currency that reflects your contributions.

Second, it gives us unprecedented global influence. The World Bank, which I control through Tera, will issue Net-Coin to countries in exchange for resources, trade deals, or technology. To participate in the global economy, nations will have to adopt Net-Coin, especially for critical transactions involving Gold and cutting-edge technologies.

We'll also add a feature to the World Bank where anyone—from farmers to corporations—can list their products for sale and receive Net-Coin directly into their wallets.

Finally, the digital transaction system we've built with Net-Coin will ensure complete transparency and security. Every transaction will be tracked and verified by Tera through Netra, making it nearly impossible to manipulate. With the introduction of NC Wallets, people will no longer have to carry physical currency to buy or make transactions. Instead, they can use Netra to transfer and spend Net-Coin with just a few taps, no matter how far apart they are. This innovation will put an end to the problems of robbery and the difficulty of sending money across the world. There's no fear of fraud or market manipulation—every exchange will be recorded in a global ledger that's accessible to everyone. Net-Coin isn't just a currency; it's the foundation of a new, unified global economy."

Vegapunk listened carefully, his mind racing with the possibilities. After a long pause, he asked, "But how will you get the Gold that the World Bank will use as a startup?"

Juno smiled. "Don't worry, Father. Everything is covered. I already know the location of Gold that will allow us to bypass the difficult process of starting up."

Vegapunk's eyes widened with realization. "That's good. Juno, if what you say comes true, then this world is really lucky that you were born into it." He looked at his son with pride.

Juno paused, caught off guard by his father's words, and quietly reflected. Maybe, as someone who had been reborn with a second chance at life, he didn't want to die before making the world better. That's why he had devised a system that would allow everyone to contribute. He realized that this plan, while benefiting him personally, also had a profound positive effect on everyone in the world.

For example, the Medical Guilds could contribute biological research to help Vegapunk create even more powerful serums, while the Education Guilds, under the banner of knowledge preservation, could help Tera acquire more data to grow stronger. With the help of these Guilds, and the power of Net-Coin, Juno would have direct control of the economy and become one of the richest individuals, giving him the means to buy whatever he needed, whether for himself or for Vegapunk's work.

It might seem selfish, but Juno knew that the benefits would not only help him; they would also help everyone. So, if he could help himself and others at the same time, why not do it?
